I use it all the time for spellcheck

Are you me?

I use it as my Compose key.

I have never pressed this key intentionally.

I use it as a screen recording hotkey.

I use Ctrl+Alt+Break to make a remote desktop window fullscreen

Well, shame on u, m8.

CAPS LOCK

NOT EVEN WHEN I'M WRITING IN ALL CAPS

This. Me too.

LOL FOR REALS IT SHOULD GO BACK TO BEING A CTRL KEY

ok

Once i fucked up my filesystem because the syncing didn't do its job.

you do know those are only intended for emergency use, right?
as in, they should only be used as a last resort, they're better than pulling the plug, but still have the potential for data loss

It was the last resort, though i use it in other situation too. A blackout never gave me more anal terror than sysrq.

you did remember to use "u" after "s", right?
syncing alone won't help much if things are still writing to the disks

People who do a lot of Word and Excel tend to do away with mice and work extremely fast with keyboard alone. This key's good to access right-click (For those things without nice shortcuts) without moving your hand.

This is my compose key

test

I've used it to pause an x264 encoding.

Thanks, user.

Do you ever wonder what it's like to stick your tongue in a girl's ass?

That's nice, retard.

I don't think it'd be too great tbqh

I have it bound to a script that opens a terminal, runs screenfetch and posts it to one of Sup Forums's many desktop threads

I have, lots of times.

If it's clean it's an interesting sensation, playing with the rim and the small crevices.
Can really get her going.
But if she's not interested then it's a waste of time.

Why not shift+ins?

Does it even do anything at all?

when the computer is about to break it pauses it so you can fix it

Pretty damn situational, but can be useful I guess.
I can't even imagine a situation where I realize the pc is about to break and I have a split second to pause something.

Also, just tried pressing it right now and nothing happens. Is this how it's supposed to be?

bruh

I just took bait, line, and fishing rod, didn't I?

Use it to choose spelling corrections when navigating text with the keyboard.

For real dude

i use it for '~' sometimes

only gamers will get this

you don't need to be gamer to recognize quake logo nor wasd

Nice Quake Q

I don't think there has been a single day since starting at university that I haven't used that key

Why should I? It's more convenient to right click.

Depends on how you define a "gamer".

I use it all the time when I am in IDE's and need to jump to different files.

>include "x.y.z"
>highlight with shift + ctrl + left arrow
>hit context menu key
>open file
Bosha,

Windows + Pause/Break = system properties shortcut

Ctrl + Pause/Break = force ends qbasic programs

Used it when working with mainframes and iSeries.

Look at all these convenient extra keys

lol

>overshoot arrow key
>system shuts down
>convenient

I have never pressed this key intentionally (before turning it into my record key)

>not esdf

>independent sleep and wake buttons
O-oh

but yeah poor placement

I hate this key. I press it all the time by accident when trying to press Home.

do you even REISUB

>needing a mouse
maybe I'm just lazy.
Sometime's I use ctrl-f to search words on a webpage then use that to navigate instead of a mouse.

works quite well on Sup Forums actually
>this post was done without a mouse

wtf are you a NEET?
