Yahoo was hacked in 2014, Google scans email for ad keywords, Lavabit got shut down.
Are there any free/cheap email services that are reasonably private and not honeypots? The ones I've seen so far are protonmail and tutanota, but I don't know the reputation of the companies or their management.

U can`t use cock.li for daily, normal email...I would never trust my bank account emails to cock.li

How is GMX? I like them, but they're based in Germany. How likely are they to be compromised?

Yahoo is so insecure that I literally changed my password 3 times in 20 min and my email was never unhacked. I'm not even exaggerating.

no stop being a poorfag and pay $50 a year for a good private one

Wow, what a deeply insightful and meaningful post you've made. Thanks so much for your great contribution to this thread.

Yandex is the best. They are hosted in Russia. If you're in a NATO or Five Eyes country it's the safest place to host your email.
They also give you 1000 emails on your own personal domain.
Xavier Gray
It's still a botnet, the only difference is that it's a Russian botnet. Host your own server or use posteo.
Thomas Lee
If you're in a NATO or Five Eyes country you need to avoid the American/Israeli botnet, not the Russian botnet.
Ryan Gutierrez
Botnet is still botnet no matter the country. You act like the Russians, aka the scamming malware writing kings of this world are worth trusting with your bank details.
Nathan Barnes
Yandex is as bad as google in terms of privacy. Personally, I only use its "yandex market" feature. It's better use protonmail for important stuff.

Yeah, Germany is totally a pro-privacy country and it's not like the Germans have ever done anything wrong.

>buy used PC from goodwill >host own email server as long as you aren't doing things in a ridiculous volume you will be okay.
Ryder White
If you're in a NATO or Five eyes country there's still a Russian embassy there with a local adjacent SVR/FSB/GRU office just like the FBI/CIA/DEA have one in the US embassies, so no the russian botnet affects you just as much.

most residential ISPs block TCP 25 outbound.

I guess they only care about those who post nazi pictures on vk.com. Seriously.

Sure, have a nice flight to a designated black site in the Urals or Vladivostok.

>How is GMX? I like them, but they're based in Germany. How likely are they to be compromised? >I like them As in how they spam ads more than any other host I've ever used?
Jackson Nelson
I've been using mailbox.org for a while. It has everything gmail has, it's subscription based, strictly private and lets you make aliases and throaways. Only two drawbacks is the site displays in German by default all the time and they send you notifications every 10 days if your balance has less than 3 months worth of subscription fees, which pisses me off.
Jace Kelly
what would you recommend?
Gabriel Sanchez
I use Tutanota AMA
Colton Lee
He's right. It's just ads, you have to be autistic to care about this. Just block them with adblock, which you should already be using anyway.
