Why can't a tablet replace a PC

Why can't a tablet replace a PC in 2016?

If you just need a facebook machine, it can.

If you need basically anything with any productivity I'd blame it on tablets treating themselves more like phones than PCs, and the lack of non-touch inputs.

Because touchscreens can mever ever be good for input

All I need is a tablet that I can video chat on omegle with.. none I've tried so far are capable. Help me bro!!

Bro same!! I fucking spent 800 on an "iPad Pro" & no video chat omegle thing cuz this Shit has no fucking flash!! God damn.

Ya.. I'm close to returning this shitty ass iPad.. it's depressing :( I just wanted to use omegle.. it's all I do with my life.

Well you can't have a touchscreen computer in Australia
Flys mate

Maybe someone on here can help us..

Surface 3. I think Linux 4.8 has full touch support.

I can't afford that tablet :( I just want something cheap to omegle video chat... I'm gonna loose my mind

I have a gaming desktop that I love, but I will be getting a new laptop for grad school next year, if the surface book 2 actually has something like a 1060M or a 1050M, will it be a good purchase for school first, then casual gaming (like dota, skyrim, etc...) 2nd???

I will play graphically intensive games on my 980ti/X34 rig, but I like casual gaming in bed.

You can, as long as you're not doing heavy-computation. Tablets can't replace desktop towers for serious work because A) they still can't make strong enough processors that will fit, and B) there still aren't docks and connectors on tablets that permit fast enough transfer to simply use external processors. You can just dock them and use external m+kb though, or dock the tablet to a desktop and use it as a second screen. If you're using a Windows tablet you can still use desktop software, and you can still boot Linux on them too.

Returning the iPad Pro should mean you have enough to buy it. It costs almost exactly the same.

They can. Due to poverty, I sold my laptop and use cheap Android tablet for email, online banking, word docs and a few other basic activities.

It's OK but sometimes it's fucking challenging. A simple task like converting a JPEG to a TGA file and resizing it took dozens of attempts with a range of really shitty free apps. And some websites just don't work properly with Android, no matter what browser you use.

But yeah, 99% of average Joe's computing needs can be met by tablet.

I got the iPad very cheap because my friend works at Apple.. I feel badly that it isn't working for me. I don't want to tell him.

Can this tablet do omegle video chat. Sorry I keep asking.. it means a ton.

IIRC if it really is out of your price range there's also Asus's T100 "transformer book". If you don't like botnets there may be an issue of Linux not quite supporting the most recent iteration.

heat

Aw man.. if I can't do those 2 sites I'm not even interested sadly.

Because of the input and output interface between the computer and the human. Its a bottleneck on the tablet, both ways.

Member when tablet PCs were a thing? I member.

>things no one ever said
>implying BT Keyboard and USB's don't exist for mobile
>implying Windows OS is better than Android OS
Fantastic thread OP

They literally do everything you need at this point, just not as fast as a laptop in a more convenient factor

Windows still isn't the greatest though although most big apps have touch versions now

Not sure if quality bait or disabled kid who is lost.
