Your only hope is to hit it big in the startup lottery. The only people under 50 in the Bay Area that I know who own homes are people who got *extremely* lucky and got in on a huge IPO. And the money. Holy shit, it attracts the worst people. All the Project Managers and Managers I had were profoundly incompetent. They just got into the game hoping to rake in money. Then the devs, who get flogged to death in the interview process, and have relentless downward pressure on their salaries, are stuck picking up the slack for them.
