>alt-f4
>are you sure you want to quit?

>Waiting for background program to close
>No programs listed

>not just flicking the switch on your extension cord and shutting the whole rig down in a single action

Apparently the botnet still busy.

Enjoy your filesystem corruption.

>shutting your computer down

Many people hit alt and f4 by mistake

>its 1998 and filesystems corrupt from power loss all of the time. It is now safe to turn off your computer.
fuck off. how many people have their electricity blip every day and you don't see widespread filesystem corruption as a common issue? it doesn't happen

Windows:
>program is not responding. Close program or wait for a solution?
>close program
>please wait while windows searches for a solution

OSX:
>rainbow wheel of death
>try to force kill
>force kill knocks out entire dock

Linux:
>kill process xyz
>process is kill

so they can validate their ssd purchase when they boot it back up

>shutdown now

linux is a kernel, dipshit

> he doesnt do routine backups
> he's too poor to have a stack of spare SSDs on standby

Why even live?

...

Mac right? Can't even take the battery out easily.

>Run
>shutdown -f -s -t0

Killing processes happens in the kernel, dipshit

bump

A couple months ago I would've replied "GNU/Linux doesn't have this problem", but due to recent systemd updates, I can no longer suspend my laptop, not even with the actual manual suspend command, and a few times recently when powering it off, it had a kernel panic right before 'poweroff' could finish. I'm not sure why all my power settings are getting fucked up. It's pretty annoying.

>using backups as a reason to do stupid shit and break things on purpose

kek

SSD speed isn't even noticable. The benefit is no moving parts. No chest pain when you accidentally kick your computer over.

that's a bit of a stretch, man. just apologize and say gnu/linux in the future

install gentoo (seriously)

lmoa thanks for the sheckles.

i cant believe i remembered the exact words. guess its burned into my brain.

nice 2011 meme

>windows 10 doesn't shut down the computer
>only clicking restart will fully restart it
>shut down sends it into a deep hibernation
This is why I use Debian now.

>electronics can't be harmed when kicked over

My kid wasn't even born in 2011.
