Is it time to upgrade to Windows 10?

I was wondering if anyone had advice for me on Windows OSs. I have used up to 8.1. I did not like 8 or 8.1 so ended up downgrading. I currently run XP or 7 on all machines. I need to build a 8.1 or 10 to run some newer peripherals though. I was thinking to run 10 as I have heard it is now running decent and its still available for free too which is a plus. What do you guys think? Is Windows 10 a viable OS these days or is it still a pile of shit?

well as someone who used it for the last year, along with using a win 7 laptop for some comparison. I would say so, it's much faster, lighter, and the mix of apps into the start menu is nice for navigating quickly. people say that windows 10 spies on you, looks like they're late to the party, if you don't want to be spied on, they're many ways around it, but if you ask me, it's not worth being paranoid about.

Don't bother - 7 is fine. It's impossible to turn off all the spying in 10 unless you have the Enterprise version, and the Start menu is useless. Even 8 and 8.1 are better.

8/8.1 is much better than 10

Windows 10 is monumentally awful. Windows has always been a dismal piece of software but Windows 10 is the grand poohbah. It is impressively bad. The only reason anyone would ever use it is because there's nothing better (which is to say there's more software available for it). For what it's worth it's probably the worst piece of software ever created.

That said, if you already have Windows 8 it might be a direct upgrade, might be. It is kind of a more charged up version of Windows 8 but it also introduces a bunch of more gross, tacky, awkward and bloated features that you have almost no desire to use.

I dunno it depends on you but I'd say just stick with Windows 8. Actually upgrading to Windows 10 might cause you a bunch of issues you need to rectify.
