Who still /netbook/ here...

who still /netbook/ here? too bad tablets killed them off and now we stuck with vintage hardware or shitty "convertibles".

I've got a netbook from a homeless guy I promised to pay an Internet connection for 6 months (I'll renew it after that, obviously).

That looks pretty comfy, and having two computers in my backpack makes me hackerman as fuck.

What Chinese cartoon is that?

>Atom CPU
>TPD only 2.5 watts
>battery life still shit, charge holds only a few hours at best if you're actually doing something rather than staring at an idle screen at minimum brightness
>excruciatingly slow for anything even remotely CPU-intensive

Why? What was so shit, the batteries, the power management systems, what in the world?

Apollo Lake powered notebook

What distro/DE have installed there? How is it performing on the netbook?

>wasting money on netbooks

kys

>doesn't know monogatari
senpai what are you doing

LXDE definitely, Lubuntu most likely.

actually, scratch that. it's lubuntu

I have a dell 10v running Gentoo - that same atom 270. Its a nice form factor but something like an x220 would be only a little bigger and significantly more powerful.

I paid $200 for this refurbished in 2008 or 9.

Me, I have a Eee PC 1015b as my only PC because third world slavic shithole, wew

nothing to do with third world slavism senpai

I know.
Nevertheless, I can shitpost on Sup Forums just fine, I don't watch JewTube that much, and if I do, I just use mpv (it chokes at 1080p, does just fine on 720p, kek)

Do chromebooks count?

LXLE, a Lubuntu-fork. pretty comfy, can recommend!

it's a machine from 2009 and i can still get 3-4h of shitposting and terminal work out of it. that's all i need on the run.

>2016
>still not stereogatari

thinking about getting a x220, but the mini 9 does anything i need so far.

>Why?
I'll personally install Debian on it and make it a portable media center on stock tty (with Bluetooth and mpd/ncmpcpp).

kek

I haven't laughed like this in years.

more or less, i guess. at least chromeos should have been replaced by a proper operating system.

Are you charging the battery up to full and then running it all the way down before recharging? That way it probably won't last too long. Yet if you use only the 20-80% range to prolong its life, you'll lose 40% of battery time on one charge.

Using one as animu and seedbox server.

i rarely empty the battery, most of the time i recharge it over night when 35% are left.

install gentoo motherfuckers

Plex has better client streaming options for the chrome browser. I think maybe only one that uses HTML5 compatibility with Plex. Problem I am running into is that chrome is only supported on 64bit.
