Windows 7
Not that happy with it but it's the lesser evil of all the choices. I'd use Linux 100% of the time if it could give me full performance out of my hardware.
Tangential note: I think if Windows 7, 8, and 10 had allowed much more ricing Linux would not be nearly as popular on Sup Forums as it is.
Nonfree rice isn't the same, user.
Arch on my main laptop, win10 on my old laptop, win7 on the x220 and freebsd on the x23 oh and archARM on my rPi
Why? becouse I can
quite happy
i think im gonna install something else on the 220
Xubuntu
Because I'm poor and my PC is old
Really doesn't matter, but I can't say I'm displeased
I'd probably stay with XFCE even if I had a more powerful PC
Nonfree wouldn't be a meme in the first place if Windows had good ricing.
MacOS
I'm a faggot
Yes
Yes
Windows 10.
Because of the "just works" factor. I had issues with linux and games, not to mention stupid ass file permission issues with plex media server. Not to mention how stupid grub bootloader is.
Yes I am happy with it.
Not until linux gets its shit together.
MacOS
Totally satisfied
MacOS
I love it.
I have Windows 10 on my desktop, but I want to switch that up - it fucking sucks
Desktop - Windows 7 for Gayming and other tasks
Compatibility and ease of use.

Meh. Maybe try out other distributions.

Lubuntu currently

Light enough for my daily needs, love LXDE
>Are you happy with it?
Yes and no. I miss pacman and dnf. apt-get is just not my cup of tea.
>Do you want to switch?
Yeah, I'm switching to a Trisquel/Libreboot system. I don't use the power of my Ultrabook so I'd rather have an older system over which I have total control
my OS (TLT) plays up to three pre-recorded, user-selectable phrases and has a functional, intuitive interface with a three-stage volume control function. i use it because i was impressed with the manufacturer's suggested 'eight to eighty' age range; although advanced users may find the lack of customization options frustrating. in summary, i don't think i'm ready to switch just yet - i'd suggest improving the phrase capacity/variety in future revisions, while maintaining the damage-proof hardware design.
Yes it would
It's not so bad. Loads better than Windows.
rsync or scp maybe

Dual-booting Fedora 25 and 9front

Ubuntu for my PC, Windows 7 for my console.
>why
Linux as a personal desktop because I'm not an American and I don't want to enable their government's global espionage. Other than that I get access to some better tools here and everything I do is smoother.
Windows 7 because AERO looks beautiful and I don't want telemetry and permanent bloatware to rape my hardware and network as it did on 10. Obviously, it's entirely dedicated to gaming, though I do play some games on Linux if they're available.
>are you happy with it
I'm happy with both. They both have minor problems but I can deal with them.
>do you want to switch
I don't "want" to, but I would switch if I found better alternatives. I'm not actively distro hopping so it's unlikely I'll switch from Ubuntu soon. As for Windows, I'll probably never switch to 10 but if I ever need to abandon 7 I'll just use 8.1 as the final Windows version I'll ever install.
Slackware
Simple and stable
Yes
Maybe to gentoo when I have more time, but at the moment no.
You can say what you want about the hardware and design of their products, but MacOS slam dunks Windows 10 in Terms of user-friendliness, design, speed. Gaming is the only drawback.

>Which OS does user use?
Windows 7.
> Why
It's comfy and stable and run all the shit I need.
>Are you happy with it
Yes
>Do you want to switch?
I'm thinking to try a Linux distro like Arch or something that's not bloated like Ubunto or Mint.
Any recommendation anons?
>Which OS does user use?
Ubuntu

It works quite well for my needs.

It takes literally 10 min to get GRUB in check

>Because of the "just works" factor.
Ubuntu "just works" as of 16.04.
>I had issues with linux and games
Work in progress. Supposedly Crossover has support for DX11 if you're willing to buy it. The purchase gets you professional support too.
>not to mention stupid ass file permission issues with plex media server
How? I've been running plex for a few years and never had an issue.
>Not to mention how stupid grub bootloader is.
What's wrong with it? It boots as it should, you shouldn't be messing with it otherwise unless you know what you're doing.
>Which OS does user use?
Windows 10
>Why
Came with computer, too lazy to install linux
>Are you happy with it
No, it keeps using up all my system resources for "Telemetry data" and "anti-virus". It also installs a ton of store apps I don't want and has ads in the start menu.
>Do you want to switch?
Yes
Linux Mint
Because it's lightweight.
I'm okay with it at the moment
I may switch soon, if I don't end up liking it
>I do play some games on Linux if they're available.
Protip: you can install the SteamOS components on any debian-based distro. I did this on my desktop since the default compositor in Ubuntu sucks ass for playing games. They didn't add a proper logout function to switch between desktops so you have to CTRL+ALT+F1(F2, F3, whichever) and kill the steamos components to get back to the login screen.
Easiest way to kill is "kill -9 `ps aux | grep steam | awk '{print $2}'` "
>I'm thinking to try a Linux distro like Arch or something that's not bloated like Ubunto or Mint.
>Any recommendation anons?
Arch is a terrible choice for a new user. Ubuntu isn't nearly as bloated as Sup Forums makes it out to be. If you install the server version and Gnome3 you should be able to run it on an old P3 or P4.
Just install it already, you'll be happy you did.
Ubuntu mate on desktop windows 8.1 on laptop and Android on phone/tablet.
I like things comfy and customizable
Yes
No
But I'm a faggot so who cares. What is this thread?
>Which OS does user use?
Windows 7, Debian & Ubuntu.
>Why
Some programs here and there that works on that and this.
>Are you happy with it?
It get's my shit done and works for me.
>Do you want to switch?
Maybe.
x220
windows 7
highly indifferent.
>Which OS does user use?
Windows 7
>Why
Because it has the best usability out of all the currently supported Windows OS's. 8 finds a way to break anything for no reason all the time and I hate everything about 10 from inner working to fundamentals it was built on.
Mac is too damn expensive and apparently apple is going full retard. Linux is too much work to get how I want and even then it can't do properly even half the stuff I can do with windows. Yes, that means games. ENTERTAINMENT. Reasons why I'm not into narcotics, etc.
>Are you happy with it
As happy as can be. Admittedly it's tech-wear is showing a little when compared to 8 and 10 but I'll manage.
>Do you want to switch?
Sure. I'd love to get away from this but as other options are as they are, I'm not yet ready for that kind of commitment.
Mac OS X aka UNIX done right
Beautiful typefaces
Yes very much so
Heavens no
What mail client do you use?
Hackintosh
because it has a few tiny things that others don't
Sort of
There is no current system that doesn't make me feel like switching someday.
Win 7
Everything else is worse
S'alright
Not really
macOS Sierra
Yes
Because it runs great, regardless of what retards say. Disabling system integrity protection is one terminal command away, and once that's disabled is just mac os x with updated security and siri
Not switch, but I need to dual boot windows to run catia
>Which OS does user use?
Fedora
>Why
Up to date, transparent in what it does (no dumb abstractions like ubuntu which only complicate things), works very well
>Are you happy with it
Yes
>Do you want to switch?
No
True, but some games are still not available. I personally didn't want to mess with wine/PlayOnLinux much.
Arch
Because I am to lazy to setup distcc for gentoo, and am not that disgusted my it's low standards.
Not that guy, but the one of the things I miss about osx was the mail client, it worked good with pgp and you could set cusom rules.
Did they miss it up in Sierra?
I know they killed pmset and diskutils.
Windows 7
Because it's not shit

I was new to linux stuff when I installed it
Yes.
Maybe, to regular arch, but its not like it actually matters since its the same as arch already.
NetBSD
Because I like it and I use Unix for job and leisure
Yes
No
>Which OS does user use?
GNU/Linux, KDE Neon
>Why
Having the more up to date KDE software really improves my experience since the current version of plasma in Kubuntu is buggy as hell (Gnome and Unity a shit). Also because I'm pretty casual when it comes to Linux and mostly just wanted to get away from Microsoft, hence the Ubuntu laziness.
>Are you happy with it
Very.
>Do you want to switch?
No.
Underrated post
macOS Sierra
Because it's everything I like about Linux with pretty much everything fixed that I hated (e.g. on the fly audio output switching, a system wide parametric equalizer that isn't shit, Photoshop, a UI that actually stays consistent for the most part)
Overjoyed.
No. I miss Linux but I like macOS too much to switch back.
What TOIlet font is that?
future
thanks

i dont want to switch but since microsoft is making new games windows 10 only i eventually wont have a choice
I use MacOS on my laptop, Ubuntu on my desktop.
I use MacOS because I love it, and Linux because I'm learning sysadmin, programming, etc.
No, I'm pretty happy with what I have. I'd like to build a home lab with a PFsense firewall, a couple Raspberry Pis, and a type-1 hypervisor, along with a few VMs running on my desktop, but just for messing around.
Ubuntu MATE
Because I'm not a gamer, and Unity blows
Yes
No
Arch
It has all the programs
Arch Linux
Because if literally just works, despite how they meme Arch breakage and instability. Latest stable upstream packages are very handy for development.
Happy? Give me first class gaymen on Linux and I literally could not be happier
Switch? Why would I?
Linux Mint
It was my first foray into Linux
It's not bad
I'm switching to Manjaro
>Which OS does user use?
Linux Mint.
>Why
It was my first foray into Linux.
>Are you happy with it
It's not bad, but definitely more of a babby's first distro.
>Do you want to switch?
I'm switching to Manjaro on my desktop and Peppermint OS on my laptop soon.
>Which OS does user use?
Linux Mint
>Why
Just works, feels better than Windows
>Are you happy with it
Yea
>Do you want to switch?
No
Fedora & Win 10
Cuz Linux is awesome & gaymes

Nonfree is not a meme, it's a lifestyle, trip-kun
I love everything about you and this post.

>Which OS does user use?

Windows because games
Puppy Linux because it's lightweight and comfy
>Are you happy with it
Yeah
>Do you want to switch?
No, I used ElementaryOS for a very long time and I got tired of the aesthetic. This is more utilitarian and sturdy. I like the fact that my PC goes blazing fast now.
>f3 for "xp "
>none found
My laptop has XP Professional Edition.
It's OK... still better than Win10 and the telemetry bullshit.
Solaris, because linux is too mainstream
solaris IS linux
