not as much "old computer" as the rest of the thread but Dreamcast browser opening a search engine over 56k

wut

are you sure that box is from a goodwill?

because I found a NES Advantage last year at a goodwill

...idk maybe different stores have different policies

>...idk maybe different stores have different policies
Probably, also depends on the people who work there, if they bother messing with it, also I think it's different if you yourself bring the item there for them to sell instead of them getting a bunch of shit from somewhere.

How much should I pay for a Magnavox Videowriter? Theres a guy near me offering one for £200 - is that a ripoff?

it's a glorified typewriter

I know but it looks ultracomfy

unfortunately couldn't find pics of it browsing so far because I only took two, but here it is logging onto a private PSO server earlier this year

open your ftp fag

goddamn that looks so comfy tier

I paid something like $50 USD for mine. They come up on ebay now and again for cheap.

many goodwills send their old computing stuff to be sold on their online auction house
some of the smaller ones dont because they don't get enough donations

Ever wanted to build a house out of FAT PS2's? Nows your change.

Can you do anything cool with those Altairs or are they just there for blinkenlights?

my point exactly
i dont understand why the fuck they do this, they'd make more money selling em at individual goodwills for 5 bucks apiece instead of paying to ship them all out to one spot then ship them somewhere else
fucking insane

Yeah, normies *ugh*

It's the Sup Forums webserver

I learned machine language on the kit I built

Same here... only mine was an IMSAI

What the PC under the kot?

Non retro related, just a ongoing project of mine.

It's a Intel Skulltrail board I found what I'm planning on using as a headless ESXi server.
Ordered a SSD, second CPU and more RAM for it. Just waiting for them to arrive.

That was a monster of a motherboard when it came out, rare as fuck too, good luck

Thanks, have some more fluff

Can you display anything on the left monitor?

Pulled this out of my garge, gonna clean it up and try it out.

What are the chances this thing will run after being in a garage attic in the midwest for 20yrs?

If it worked when it got stored in the garage, then it will work now too.

Keep us updated pls!

Depends if the box was sealed. Try putting some milk on it, and eat up.

Topkek

More pics!

It's running on that PC?

duh

How is this even possible?

no JS bloat and minimal images.

Is JS even server side heavy? It only executes on the client side? It's just a file on the host machine, JS has nothing to do with it.

they could mean the server has to serve large JS script files

The sites load pretty darn quickly and look quite nice though

>How is this even possible?

Not really special; there used to be a website hosted on a C64 a few years back.

My first computer had that case on the top right. I still have it, but it doesn't boot anymore. Not sure why - the only difference I could get was having it beep a different way if there is no videocard present. I couldn't test it with PCI videocards unfortunately.

hmm, I haven't thought of it since a long time, I might try recapping it.

>Not really special; there used to be a website hosted on a C64 a few years back.
More info?

Probably not caps, just something really obvious.
Unless you can visually see expanded caps on the board.

there's even a website hosted on an Apple IIe:

mind = blown

I'm just gonna leave this here

Oh, this post again.

that's a lot of fans user

How does it feel to know that someday that ray tube will burn out and by that time will be irreplaceable and irreparable?

I was just reading an article today when my computer started to lag like shit. I open up the task manager and what do I find? That single tab is taking up over 250mb of ram and the cpu is peaking at 100%.

Death to hipsters & pajeets

Probaby not even in his lifetime, there's so much more that can go bad with the set before the tube itself, but that's easily repairable.

YEAH BUT WHAT ABOUT UPDATES?

>Death to hipsters & pajeets
amen

Why does this site need to track me with Google analytics Javascript? Seems like the dumbest reason to break the whole point of this site being just simple HTML...

>tfw no classic UNIX workstation running HP-UX, SunOS, or AIX.
feels bad man

It really depends on how many hours are on it. There are CRTs made in the 1930s that are still working.

>tfw before i blocked google scripts Sup Forums was taking up over 800mb

Wow, Chrome on macOS seems to eat a lot more memory.

no GPU acceleration?

Visited a web site today with snow. Fucking snow animation falling down the screen.

Might have been cool if it didn't peg the CPU to 100% / 95C.

Fuck Pajeet.

whats esxi?

So it seems. Turning it on makes each tab's ram usage go down a bit.

The entire OS eats memory. I have 8gb in this T420 though so i dont really mind much.

Seems to take less ram on snow leopard

Maybe because you have less ram in total? FF takes 2x of the ram when loading this page on el cap.
Also if that shirt says "i beg to yiffer" I'm gonna punch someone.
