It is not good at being human, just good at learning from humans.
This is not in any way a step closer to consciousness, it just proves humans are predictable: knowledge gained from one person can be easily adapted for a conversation with another. Human conversation and language follows patterns and rules easy for a neural net to learn from.
However, random, untrained humans are a pisspoor metric for grading these bots. Humans often see far deeper than face value, making connections even when none such actually exist. Bias for or against AI will quickly skew your perception of the meaning behind the AI's responses.
