Top-tier Free Software

Software made by freecucks that feels professional.

I'll start. Krita

(^:

GIMP
LibreOffice
Firefox
MPD
Apache
nginx
lighttpd
mpv

Darktable

blender is pretty good. if you have a lifetime to devote to learning it.

i hear its been used in hollywood a few times.

>GIMP
:^)

TeXstudio is simply the best latex editor. Accept no substitutes.

borg

All software is free software

>GIMP
>LibreOffice

I feel like they were written by a bunch of anarchists instead of professionals

FreeBSD, Linux, Android

>GIMP
>professional
I use this program a lot but come on...

git
gcc
gdb
llvm
webkit

>GIMP

Shotcut.

>android
kek

>not using vim

you've never used it, i guess.

apache
nginx
x264
libavcodec
libpcap
(say what you want but) VLC
libusb
fucking this, libtards can't make working UI for shit

>non-free proprietary software
>OS costs €129.99
>telemetry
>two settings menus
Only Pajeets can fuck up this bad

It works like and looks like an amateur piece of shit.

How good is this?

Obviously not as strong as Vegas or Premiere but it's pretty damn close, has lots of above average functions such as picture in picture, greenscreen, loads of active effects (not just color correction & transitions) for both audio and visual... I mean, if you just use WMM or another free thing this is likely better than it.

>blender is pretty good

Blender is amazing :D

>>non-free proprietary software
>>OS costs €129.99
but i didn't pay a dime for it, it was a free upgrade. in any case:

>paying for good things is bad
t. poorfag

The GCC would feel professional if it would blow up in my face a bit more, and complain at me. Also shill for its own brand when I'm compiling at me.

But it doesn't.

Emacs feel pretty solid, so it's entirely unlike Sublime which tends to catch fire and die whenever you do something.

Point is, a lot of paid software is absolutely shit-tier. But you have to use it.

>because it's a free upgrade not available anymore, it's a free product
>arguing about paid stuff in a thread that's about free stuff

Kill yourself, user, you are doing injustice to your family.

I've had better user experience with paint.net and I'm usually not into bashing FOSS
With its plugins there wasn't much I missed.

>but i didn't pay a dime for it, it was a free upgrade. in any case:

cool. use linux.

I have yet to try Krita.

No.

Subtract mpv

I heard it can be used to make movies but I can't figure it out

>it was a free upgrade
You still paid for the operating system you upgraded from even if it came with the OS.
A free upgrade that is no longer available I might add, therefore not a free product.

Regarding the Blender part, read / watch more on how the animation works, composite, actions and all that jazz. It's not a night stand study thing.

Vim-Latex

>You still paid for the operating system you upgraded from even if it came with the OS.
no, i didn't

>cool. use linux.
>implying

>admitting to piracy on a board that logs IPs and is known to give info to governments

good job

Blender isn't as good as Maya 3d

QGIS

It's got a learning curve that's for sure. It's not gonna be like firing up windows movie maker.

There are books an inch thick on how to use it so that kinda says alot about it.

>GIMP

Lmao - he said professional

> ffmpeg

you all lost

Krista definitely is top tier. If you're into drawing and painting then it beats the pants off Photoshop.

I'd also add blender. It really is quality software. Except for the garbage particle systems that haven't been fixed yet. And also I guess the soft body physics and fluid sims are a bit rough around the edges. Can't have two soft bodies interacting with each other while also being animated/shape keyed and can't have 2 different interacting fluids. But outside of that physics-y kind of stuff it is absolutely amazing.

Libreoffice is trash

Clang is pretty good, once you have your project complete I use GCC though.
FFMPEG
TexStudio
SMPlayer with MPV backend
Spyder IDE
Geany, for C/C++ is god tier.
VirtualBox, haven't tried out VMWare but it just werks.
Dukto (LAN file transfers)
wget
