Last night's thread was pretty successful. Let's have another one. Old thread Sorry XPaboos, goodnight vista degenerates, buh-bye 7-10 botnetters: One, true Windows coming through.
>Ultramodern yet remarkably homey POSReady interface >Sane system requirements >USB bootable >Fully customizable, bloat-free install >Minimized attack surface area >Extended support through April, 2019 >Zero activation >Zero telemetry >Total control
no drivers, no install win10 or linux is the only way now.
Grayson Moore
can I install my shitty GPU drivers on that?
Xavier Martinez
What's the point?
Also which version of windows is it closest to?
Liam Butler
Absolutely no drivers Remember, this OS wasnt meant to run on just any old desktop. Its meant for embedded systems and things that arent going to be using alot of resources anyway. Graphical drivers are nonexistent for anything. This is meant for stuff like CNC machines, checkout terminals, and other dedicated machines. Not for gaming, shitposting or pretty much anything else.
If you have a Pre-2005 laptop and think this a good choice due to the system requirements, just dont. Its better to use what your laptop was designed to use, XP, 2000, 98, etc, because there will be drivers.
Ive tried this on every single one of my thinkpads except for my oldest one that ran 95. There were only supported drivers for one of them, so the rest were left with just the generic drivers that really held the system back.
Forget about using this on anything with modern parts, good luck finding drivers for anything PCI-E
Jaxson Wright
Its like XP basically but has no drivers The only thing it has going for it, is that it has support by microsoft for years into the future.
Which honestly shouldnt be a problem if youre not retarded and dont rape your PC with malware
Jacob Taylor
can i use this shit in an arcade machine with windows XP?
Because it has all the benefits from your POS and it's newer
Owen Myers
Will it run well on a ULV Core Solo with 512MB RAM?
Joshua Nguyen
I don't know, but it will actually run 64bit programs
Cooper Reed
Will it run 16bit programs though?
Justin Thompson
2012 r2, sure. 2016, nope. same level of botnet as win10.
Kayden Bell
ENOUGH GODDAMNED GENERALS FUCK
Hudson Walker
2008 R2 > 2012 R2
Wyatt Kelly
here we go
Matthew Martin
Not too necessary with a 32-bit CPU.
Jackson Ramirez
It can't be that hard to just make drivers for it
Josiah Torres
I just use virtual box and then this happens...
Adrian Sanders
don't use SATA use IDE
Christopher Miller
> POS2009 > 2009 > No sata support bruh
Grayson Robinson
You need to F5 if you want SATA. This is still based off XP. Otherwise you need to download the DVD .iso image and use the USB creator tool to make a USB installer, and then place the SATA drivers in the USB.
Parker Roberts
possibly. do you know specifically what advantages 2008 has over 2012 r2?
Joshua Russell
>posready >not WES7 are you guys stupid?
Brandon Carter
Is it legit??
Adam Lopez
If you mean the Windows will be detected as genuine yes.
Nathaniel Hill
Yes, here I'm using it on my home server in two VMs. Pretty good shit. Takes typically 2GiB of disk space after installing
Eli Miller
I put my SATA controller in compatibility mode and was able to install this. Now if I download sata drivers and install them in XP, can I then boot it up without compatibility mode? Seems easier than trying to install the drivers from the OS installer if that works.
Alexander Wood
Gee Bill, how come your mother lets you have *two* mouse pointers?
Jacob Nguyen
>Ultramodern >32-bit
John Green
Thanks dear user
Luis Gomez
okay. im actually fucking mad right now.
Jack Diaz
>What should I do with that monstrous .exe file? "unar" can unpack it. Unarchiver (unar) has a libre implementation of RAR v3.
Tip: don't forget to enable the Volume Shadow copy Service in the setup. QEMU guest utilities need it and will fail with an obscure error if you don't have them. I just found out after installation Win 7 Embedded and over 120 updates for 2 hours.
Ayden Rogers
>/poz/ >changing the name so people won't call it a Piece Of Shit lmao
Cameron Bennett
What is this? Open source version of windows7? Or is it that version of windows that comes with those giant monitors?
Does it run games and other applications? >USB bootable You mean I can dd the ISO to a USB? Does it run in live session or something? >Installation key Is this 00s?
And why is this important now? because of the previous thread get?
Parker Perez
Are you one of those annoying faggots who is incapable of googling or reading?
> Open source version of windows7? Fuck off.
Leo Phillips
Yes
Bentley Harris
>>NT6 Kernel and API extensions imminent The fuck are you talking about?
Justin Martin
No, just came to the thread from work and very very sleepy. I'm still reading the previous thread. So is this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Embedded_Industry#Windows_Embedded_POSReady_2009 Pre-patched version? >Requirement Those is even lower than XP. >USB bootable Just dd the ISO to a USB? >Zero activation What's the install code then?
I apologize if my post annoyed you, I didn't mean anything by it.
Noah Price
Protip: if you select "install extra drivers" during the setup, you will get ALL default xp ones
Liam Turner
3DPD
Sebastian Williams
WES7 is the shit.
Asher Nguyen
2008 is Vista based and has a 32bit version that allows using more than 3GB RAM 2008R2 is 7 based and 64bit only
Kevin Powell
So what is this ? Custom windows ISO creator? How do you include 3rd party application with it? Better?
Benjamin Cox
>IE and video codecs are botnet Enjoy your "compatibility"
Charles Sanchez
WES7 is a componentized version of Windows 7. Basically like nLite/vLite but official Microsoft version. POSReady 2009 is a version of XP that is meant for POS Systems. It also have a small degree of componentization during setup. The degree of componentization is far less than WES09 which allows you to choose from thousands of components. 3rd party application? Install like normal? Run setup kek.
Also nope
Easton Lewis
nice pits
Anthony Green
Ok but what are the advantages over 2012 r2?
Matthew Bailey
I see, thanks. And why is this significant? Because it's free as in "out of charge" windows? Thanks.
Grayson Nguyen
Have you tried reading the thread first?
Colton Moore
not so nice pits
Liam Diaz
Linux has better performance and actually helps you learn to program.
Windows will never have a good package manager or good file system and it will always be a branch of the NSA.
You are all cucks for wanting to use anything made by Microsoft.
Ryder Turner
Reduced botnet, increase in flexibility and choice. You can choose not to install Internet Exploder if you wish. You basically can take part in designing your user experience. Many people would just learn a bunch of commands that are incompatible with other distros. They will only learn something useful if they are into it.
Jason Diaz
any point in getting the w7 version of embedded or is that just as contaminated as regular windows?
Jackson Ward
Windows Embedded probably still has backdoors but at least there's no excessive "telemetry". Also no activation.
Angel Allen
No dedicated telemetry updates, but still have quality rollup. Still need to catalog+security-only rollup. Their rollups(both quality and security) are however always come in another package segregated from normal Windows 7.
John Murphy
an1?
Wyatt Turner
>try this >can never log in after installing literally y
Anthony Mitchell
You can load drivers from CD-ROM and floppy, probably also from USB, during setup. I just installed it directly on QEMU VirtIO SCSI.
Aiden Martinez
>can never log in after installing You should use "Administrator" as username.
Samuel Hernandez
What about 8.1 Embedded Industry?
Jaxson Cox
Well I'm retarded, was trying "admin".
Owen Hughes
It's based on a good Windows, has better compatibily with stuff and it's less resource intensive
Asher Gutierrez
Ran it as Host OS, it have telemetry updates. Keyboard filter and UWF is pretty nifty though, albeit no enterprise features such as bitlocker.
Lincoln Davis
So It's been a while since I installed winblows Is DAZLoader still a thing?
James Gray
Is this the "Install Gentoo" of the Windows world?
