Does anybody have some tricks to make using a Chromebook not completely awful? I'm average at working with computers, and I want to be able to legitimately mask my IP, access the Tor network without all the Tor2Web bullshit, and just make it less completely retarded. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Look up Crouton. You can install a Linux chroot jail so you have access to everything. X applications work too.

Crouton makes your chromebook absolutely insecure. If OP wants to hide his IP and use Tor, Crouton is an awful idea.

You can encrypt the jail so it doesn't have that problem. It's built into Crouton.

I considered doing the same thing but ended up just going with a tails USB on an old laptop that isn't used for anything else
