End game ratio of choice

>
16:9 or 21:9

1:1

256:135

16:10 or your mother will die in her sleep

3:2

Grown-ups tend to prefer 1:1 > 5:4 > 4:3 > 16:10 in that order

16:9 for center monitor.
2x 4:3 on each side.

...

16:10

4:3 and/or 16:10 are my preferred choices

Are there any current 3:2 monitors that are not glossy?

16:10, I find 16:9 way too cramped

dubs confirm.

3:2 = 1:1 > 4:3 > 16:10 >>>>>> dogshit >>>>>>>>>> 16:9 > rest

My opinion:
5:4 & 21:9 > 16:10 > 16:9 > everything else

For a desktop monitor it doesn't matter so much, because you'll have multiple windows open. You just have to decide whether or not ultra wide benefits your work flow

For a tablet, 4:3 is required

For a laptop, 16:10, 3:2, or 4:3 are required

beauty.

what's the model?

Personally,
16:10

Glorious 3:2

Eizo EV2730Q

1920x1920 IPS

Glossy garbage

It's one downside. But it being so expensive and now discontinued, it's not going to ever be used outdoors. Indoors, that screen is the greatest thing on a laptop ever.

moist

the ideal set up would be to drop the lowest edge as close to the desk's surface as possible, is the stand detachable?

4:3

800x600 master race

16:10 golden ratio masterrace

t. Terry davis

16:10 for most things
4:3 for old content
21:9 for movies and specific games

I have a 16:10 monitor and a 21:9 one. The only reason I use the 21:9 as my main monitor instead of secondary is because of its resolution and image quality in comparison (21:9 IPS at 2560x1080 vs 16:10 TN 1680x1050). If I bought a new one though I would really look for a decent 16:10 monitor and use the 21:9 as secondary. Or just sell it and get two decent monitors because 21:9 ain't all that amazing anyways.

>the ideal set up would be to drop the lowest edge as close to the desk's surface as possible
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

have you no fucking respect for your back and neck? Center it on eye-height. in b4 your head is on the level of your desk and you type by reaching upwards

your eyes should be on the level of your upper edge of the screen

5:4 or 16.10

Yes, so I'm looking down constantly; brilliant. My neck already hurts just imagining it

just use your eyeballs?

Which are designed to look forward in their neutral position rather than down?

Your eyes are designed to move you fucking faggot not be stationary 24/7

You aren't looking at your dick you're looking just slightly below your horizontal line of sight. the way you are when walking.

>Your eyes are designed to move you fucking faggot not be stationary 24/7
Yes, which is why all parts of your screen should be equally accessible

looking far down is more straining than centering your range of motion

one 10:16 one 16:10
most productive and flexible setup

1x1>3x2>16x10
anything wider is a horrible disgrace.

>it's the setup I use, therefore it's the best setup
>I have fuck all research and evidence to back up this wild claim, but I don't need to because it's my setup therefore it's clearly superior anyway

>looking far down
Are you mentally impaired?
You're not looking "far down".
You're looking as low as you would when reading a book laying in front of you on the table

Professional: 1:1 > 5:4 > 4:3 > 8:5

Gaymer, Netflix normie and third world: 16:9

Colossal faggot and muh racing sim setup: curved 21:9

3:2 > 16:10 > 16:9 > 1:1 > 4:3

3:2 renders 4:3 obsolete and 16:10 renders 16:9 obsolete

Why have 4:3 over 3:2 on tablets? If anything 3:2 would be better on tablets over laptops since 3:2 is closer to the A4 ratio and you get smaller black bars when watching 16:9 content

any 3:2 monitors? I'm hoping there will be some b grades of the Surface Studio's panel.

8:5

>You're looking as low as you would when reading a book laying in front of you on the table
which is uncomfortable as fuck

>Boo hoo hoo muh black bars. Fuck of Danny P

Good argument, downie. 4:3 is only better if you're a weeaboo who watches 4:3 content, 3:2 is the exact same thing but slightly wider.

>1:1
>doesn't post a 1:1 photo
y?
The real end game ratio is 3:2 though

4:3 is better for portrait
3:2 is too wide for landscape

16:9 is the only good aspect ratio
