So this is true right?

So this is true right?

Newer Machine = Windows

Older Machine = Linux

No.

Every Machine = Linux

>not dual booting into both
fukkin pleb

Except ayymd, but who buy their shit?

Newer Machine = whatever you want
Older Machine/Less Powerful Machine = Linux

My laptop feels so much snappier on linux. On my i7 build, they both feel the same.

Work machine = Windows

Basement dweller machine where you want to spend most of the time configuring stuff and getting drivers to work = Linux

>dual booting in current year

Me

Lower IQ = Windows

Higher IQ = Linux

To some extent. In my experience, if you buy the very latest generation of hardware right when it comes out, you will have some trouble getting Linux working on it. Otherwise Linux has great hardware support.

on my high end machine with a titan X and an intel i7 4790k CPU is running LFS with KDE and Wayland, games run faster than Windows

Newer machine = macOS
Older machine = Linux

gaming machine = windows
everything else = linux

The rule is

I want a PC = Windows

I want something that I'm going to have to endlessly tinker with and will break with even slight updates = Linux

Unless it's servers. Then headless Linux is GOAT

I have a lot of money and want a fashion accessory with more form than function = Mac OS

Missed one.

nice post

>older machine/less powerful machine = linux
Until you launch the browser and open a typical HTML5 website.

WHY THE FUCK NOT?

Newer machine = I buy a Mac
Older machine = I install BSD

This.

newer machine = whatever you want
older machine = whatever it's built to run or linux

>linux
