Does Sup Forums know shit about vintage record players, or equipment in general? I have a setup that is missing a record player and want to know your opinion on the matter. Will consider new stuff if it looks the part
[Vintage] Audio

It's mostly a meme for hipsters who only got into audio to let them pretend they are better than everyone else. Old equipment is usually called sounding "warm", which is simply a hipster word meaning "shit".
>Consider new stuff if it LOOKS the part
Meme
record argument might have worked in the 80s or 90s but we have digital now. CD is old enough so you can still pretend to be superior and can hold lossless music, at least a few tracks.
due to the internet and audiophile sites, you aren't a unique snowflake since all other audio turds will end up doing the same thing, and you'll just fight them when you get "actual" advice (in line with your stupid idea) so you won't win either way.
It's something I want to mess around with. I don't care if you or anyone else thinks it's a meme
>looks are not an important factor
Just like all the other hipsters that can't explain or defend their "hobby" because they would have to admit it's about pretending to be better than everyone else. See ya!
Audio-Technica Belt-drive Turntable.
Not many people would disagree
With some hip, "vintage" skins or wraps or something
samefag
I have the Audio-Technica PL120 and I'm very happy with it.
I just bought some Pioneer one for 12 bucks at my local secondhand store.
I just gave op what he asked for, audio technica's AT-LP60 is good bomb it might as well be the only turntable in existence, with cheap cartridges op would have to try out and see what he likes
But it is silver, and op asked for "vintage", hence the skin suggestion
i'm so sorry, i impatiently mistook you for the other guy who did nothing but talk shit about "hipsters" and how anyone buying vinyl only does so to appear "cool"
i'll go shower and sleep in shame now, have a good night user
Since you already have an amplifier, I say do some research on it to see what people like to use with it.
I like my Dual 1257 turntable, it sounds pretty good. I got it free when a friend's parents were downsizing and moving to a condo (they were getting rid of everything they owned that didn't fit in their station wagon). I see them on ebay for about ~$150. Your best bet tho is going to some flea markets.
My sinatra records still sound better on my Zenith than my ipod dock
Get a Japanese/German made from the 70s or 80s. Buy a new cartridge. Make sure it has anti skating and counter weight.
>muh sound quality
>muh i pay for this to get muh sound
>muh audiofile
and now you say looks matters... why? because what really matters is that you can take pictures of it to show the "plebs" who haven't fallen for this meme.
old sound equipment is shit.
Wow all these arguments!
hi justin
what a fucking asshole
If looks are not important, only function, then do I have a car for you!
It's brand new and goes 300 hectares on a single tank of kerosene.
Is there something wrong with the aesthetic here I don't get it
I would only buy a record player if you have records to play
and even then, i'd only do it If I had a lot of them
>plenty of boot space due to genius blocky design
>huge engine bay for what really matters
>Roomy 2 door cabin with no nonsense
WHAT IS A HOBBY
JUST STREAM YOUR MUSIC ON YOUTUBE BRO
oh no you shouldn't of used the word hobby
you probably just triggered justin into high earth orbit
brebare for wall of text
Ahh, the retro futuristic audio systems from the 80s...
You can always trust Crazy Vaclav.
does anyone here happen to know where i could obtain an artisan wool scarf? more importantly, a scarf made specifically from small family farm raised sheep. I like to wear one when listening to my record collection and using my macbook.
>hurr hurr lol what a idiots buying old hifi shit while I can play skrillex in my pc with this 100W gayming speakers.
