Is this the only non-retarded product Apple has left?
>*Two* USB 3.0 ports
>3.5 mm headphone jack
>SDXC card slot
>11 hour battery life
>won't get bricked from future software updates
Is this the only non-retarded product Apple has left?
I can't believe it's still for sale.
The newest MacBook has *two* USB 3.1 slots
>non-retarded product
>Apple
Pick one.
Their watches, phones, and earphones are based
>1440 x 900 TN
>shit-tier specs
>$1000 (1200 euros in Europe)
Why the fuck is this allowed? Does metal/aluminium body really add this much to the price?
>t. iToddler
23 years old but okay
I have one and aside for the small SSD its quite good
why can't they just refresh it with a better screen, new gen processor and maybe an usb-c? I don't want the new rMBP with no keyboard travel and no ports
My girlfriend has a MacBook Air, and I have to say it's an extremely nice laptop for programming. The screen resolution is my biggest beef, but OSX is by far the nicest OS for programming. Plus workspaces and gestures make working on a screen with that shitty of a resolution a heck of a lot nicer.
Any recs for a case or protective sleeve?
>t. mactoddler
I just use a soft bag as a sleeve, no dents or scratches so far, but probably a rubber case will be enough
>won't get bricked from future software updates
What did you mean by this?
>macgtoddlers literally need rubber bumpers on their fragile toddler toy trash to keep it from denting like soda cans when they pick it up
lmao@urlyfe
stay mad poorfag
Stay mad, but what this guy says its true, the meme keyboard is nice to use, the resolution isnt the best but its comfortable and shit
It's ok. The build quality is not nearly as good as other business laptops though and you should really hackintosh if you need Mac OS X. Mac OS X is really no better than Windows though when it comes to privacy and user freedoms though. I highly recommend dual booting with a GNU/Linux distro and using for everything that's not work/school related.
I use a 1200x800 matte display. You don't really need much more than that for basic web browsing and programming.
>1366x768 TNshit screen
Might as well get a $100 chromebook
It would be if it didn't have a shit screen.
>still 900 price
>shit specs
>watches
>earphones
No
The point is that they're USB A and not that USB C shit
>fast enough to power an external GPU
>"but muh gaymen mouse doesnt work with it so its shit"
It doesn't work with basically every Universal Serial Bus peripheral ever made.
>All macbook panels are TN
>muh battery life
>yuropoor lmfao
USB 3.1 is USB 3.1, nothing special and nothing wrong about type c
>tfw mid 2012 non-retina 15" MBP
>1680x1050 AG screen
>Last model to have even some semblance of user serviceability
Thanks Apple! Every year you make me feel better about this purchase.
Except for the part where it's called a Universal Serial Bus while being incompatible with basically every USB device ever
>800mhz
It's the bus that's universal, not the port. The port is more Ubiquitous. Not that I'm defending applel or anything.
I think you're talking about the new macbook.
>2016
>TN
>1440*900
Wut?
>OSX
>OS for programming
Choose one
Nothing wrong with a good TN panel, and 1440x900 is a fine resolution for its size.
You are beyond retarded.
>he doesn't realize poorfags get loans to buy fagbooks
My 2015 13 inch samsung laptop has a resolution of 3200*1800
and it was cheaper than the Macbook air
I'd pay extra to not have such a fuckhuge resolution on a laptop.
I've been using this for a few days now, and I really don't have much of a problem
Windows 10 handles HiDPI pretty well.
if only its screen wasn't so retarded
I've got no issue with high res screens, the problem is when they're battery powered. I'd much rather have a 1600x900 screen and the additional battery life from driving 4x less pixels
...
How is it bait? It works with fucking nothing sans the 5 USB C devices in existence.
Samsung's Hi Res screens are pretty power efficient because they use RGBW Pentile (pic related), the extra resolution has almost no impact on GPU power consumption if you have Haswell or newer on Windows 10.
>rendering 4x as many pixels at any given second doesn't affect the battery much
I find that hard to believe.
you don't know what universal means you retarded dumbass
>I find that hard to believe.
That's because you're fucking retarded. Intel's newer GPUs are powerful enough to render simple 2d shit such as web browsing and general usage up to 4K without breaking a sweat.
Do you think your current laptop magically doubles its battery life if you set it to 800x600 instead of 1080p?
>applicable to all cases
USB type C is not applicable for 99.99999999999% of USB devices in existence.
>Do you think your current laptop magically doubles its battery life if you set it to 800x600 instead of 1080p?
Of course not, the GPU's not the only thing that consumes power.
Yes and I addressed that by saying that Samsung uses a Pentile 3200x1800 screen.
But yeah, the majority of the hi-res screens on the market do consume a lot more power because ASi and IGZO screens are cheaper to produce than LTPS type screens.
you don't know what universal means you retarded dumbass
I didn't realize the screen was a part of the GPU. Oh wait, it's not.
9800
Literally just used its definition to explain why USB C is not universal, you cum guzzling thundercunt.
you don't know what universal means you retarded dumbass
Yeah spamming the same reply over and over again's really going to get you somewhere, you fucking blimp fart.
>>*Two* USB 3.0 ports
the new Macbook pro has 4 USB ports.
tn may not look as good as IPS, but it also uses less power.
4 USB-C type ports to be precise
and it needs dongles to function like the rMBP
OP said USB 3.0, as in with USB type A connectors. The new rMPB has only USB C.
If you're already living in the future, you don't need dongles/adapters.
I do for the dozens of USB devices I already own.
Cant wait for new mbp owners to get that cpu on battery clock restriction so the battery life whilst doing anything other than browsing facebook isnt shit.
