No.

You have to buy the latest Cyberlink, correct GPU, and the drive. Minimum $300 for just the software and drive.

Cyberlink are cunts.

Just wait for the mkv remux.

>Cyberlink
nope

How can you get a remux if no one can read the disc?

AACS 2.0 hasn't been cracked and it doesn't look like it will be any time soon.

>insert disk into blu-ray Player
>connect to tv
>disconnect lvds cable from tv
>connect lvds to converter box
>plug converter into capture card

E-Z

that's not a remux you literal faggot.

A screen capture is never going to be as good as an actual disc remux.

That's not a remux, tard.

90% of the time a 1080p remux looks better than capping a 4k stream

Looks like they got UHD BD PC software license but it's not out yet.

>Versions of PowerDVD supporting Ultra HD Blu-ray will be available from early 2017.
They are also likely to require Windows 10 for PlayReady 3.0 DRM and Kaby Lake or Pascal for hardware secure path.

This, AACS 2.0 hasn't been cracked, and further no legitimate software developer has been provided with the keys either so there are no paid services available even if you wanted to pay for one.

At the moment you MUST buy a standalone UHD bluray player and it must connect to a UHDTV using HDMI 2.0

>likely to require Windows 10 for PlayReady 3.0 DRM and Kaby Lake or Pascal for hardware secure path.
probably, even though older hardware with a TPM should have a secure environment enough for it, they'll likely force kabylake just to encourage people to upgrade though.

I have a haswell-e X99 system and TPM 2.0 installed on the motherboard for storing encryption keys in a secured environment, there is no reason I shouldn't be able to playback UHD blurays if cyberlink really does have the license, but $20 says it will be hardware locked to kabylake just cause.

4k stream =/= 4k bluray
the bitrate on most 4k streams is shite (and most 4k netflix shows are not natively shot at 4k)

Why the fuck would you want to.

Because I have the money.

>and most 4k netflix shows are not natively shot at 4k

Every Netflix original production has been filmed on 4K cameras.

Because some of us aren't retarded and fall for the streaming "HD" movies meme or the "Well surely it'll have seeders some day" torrent meme.

Then what's the fucking point of having anything higher then the quality going to the TV? It's just going to be the same no matter if you play it off a disc or a hard drive anyway?

pic related sez otherwise.

I meant capping the stream between the decoder & the screen

Buying Xbox One S is simplest way if you want UHD bd.

Who fucking cares.

Obviously people who want to play 4k Blu-ray on their PCs.

When capping the screen you're just getting an encode of the bluray, the encode is done either by the capture card itself if it has a hardware encoder, or software (and your CPU or GPU hardware encoder).

For 4k to do a realtime encode at the moment essentially requires a hardware encoder as the CPU just isn't powerful enough without spending thousands.

You can get a 4k capture card that does 4k30 for about $200 now.

To get a 4k60 capture card that can do RAW capture costs about $1300. on top of that to actually use it to capture it in it's RAW form you essentially have to dedicate a PCIe or M.2 Nvme SSD to the task, and you need at least ~100GB available to record to.

It's a right bitch to do and would be 10x simpler if we had the keys to AACS 2.0

So, retards then. Got it.

>2017
>optical media

ultraKEK

>I'm so superior with muh terabytes of pirated animu

>it in it's RAW form you essentially have to dedicate a PCIe or M.2 Nvme SSD to the task, and you need at least ~100GB available to record to.

>blah blah im poor

no you dipshit, you get 128gb of ram and do a ramdisk for one. but whats so bad about a $1300 capture card?

>dont want physical media to die out because its nice to have a collection
>have lots of games and dvds/blu rays

>blu ray drm is jewy as fuck
>UHDBluray might be even worse
>ps4 doesnt do UHDBluray

hmmmm
