Why?

Why?

Electricity rises, like heat

Who fucking cares.

unlike you mid tower and full tower plebs, my mini-itx has the power supply in the front top corner.

weight distribution
cold air intake without ruining monolithic design

>easier cablemanagement, because most of them don't have to be fixiated in the top
>easier montage because not working against gravity
>easier outer cable routing

These are just from the top of my head

So that if you have a flood the PSU will short out first and the rest of your system won't be harmed.

>easier montage

wot

This. Better to have more weight at the bottom. Is there any advantage to a top mounted PSU?

good when case sits on top of desk, not on floor

I prefer PSU on the bottom. Don't like having a big fat power cable hanging off the top of the machine.

let's all argue about what happened to flatbed PC cases. where did those beige 1997 boxes go

no

user, i dont know how to tell you this...

in to the trash

Do you mean the ones where they were shaped like a VCR? Cause I would love if those were still a thing. I could use it as a stand for my monitor and then raise my chair so the mouse and keyboard would be at a comfortable height.

Lower centre of gravity, making the case less likely to tip over.

dis how u ground it nigga. You'll be grateful when a fucking storm rekts your TV but not your gayming machine

>Not being box case master race

>montage
Think he means mounting.

You mean HTPC cases? They're being sold, just not in retarded colors like beige that gets affected by UV.

That sound about right, but that would make him a retard because he still makes no sense.

The PSU on my Silverstone FT-02 is top mounted. I guess that helps to deal with the rotated motherboard.

So it can pull all the dust straight from the floor

The only advantage is that the PSU fan can draw air out of the case.

But that's probably unnecessary anyway and won't affect your temperatures much if at all unless it is your only "case" fan.

The funny thing is that we had them when we had CRTs, and would put the CRT monitors on top of them.

But when we got lighter LCD monitors we shifted to towers instead. Makes no sense.

get a load of this guy

OP needs a Silverstone Fortress

NZXT h440 a bottom-PSU with an air flow-seperate case

wrong decade, guy. They're up to FT-05

...

Not really. Have you ever tried taking out a top mounted PSU while having entire system already installed in case? I guess not.

>buying full size PSUs
mine is barely larger than a 24pin connector

But does the fire rise?

What's the problem aside from having a stupidly large tower cooler?

It's a plot from big electricity. By putting it on the bottom you have to use more power to push the electrons uphill therefore using more energy and making more money for the capitalist machine

Uhhh, because it's fucking better? AC cables are annoyingly short. Bottom PSU has better weight distribution and poses less of a fire hazard.

>mine is barely larger than a 24pin connector
>when I don't show the external power brick

For you mememachine

>he wants a psu to fall onto the board

Fire rises
Bane.docx.png

It doesn't suck all the dust from your floor

> one PSU screwed to the inside of the case
> not glorious redundant hot-swappable PSUs in front-mounted bays
Because gaymers care more about "muh aesthetics" and "muh airflow" than they do about uptime and ease of maintenance.

Supermicro cases are fucking based, top choice my friend.

That looks rad af

it's like the thinkpad of computer cases. does it fit dual socket tyan boards?

my fucking god. what is that case?

I think I read something about it being due to the PSU being part of the exhaust system back in the day. Like when CPUs didn't have fans of their own or cases didn't have extra fan mounts to do that job. Might be BS but I guess it makes some sense.

These days it's not needed so the PSU is basically chilling down there on it's own pulling in air from underneath and directly dumping it out the back.

...

Of course it will, that monster has four Intel E7 Xeons on the motherboard if you look closer.

>not cleaning your room
>not having a dust filter
plus at the very worst you can just flip it upside down so it takes air from inside your case and exhausts it out the back.

welcome to the enterprise world, you haven't even scraped the surface of what crazy features you'll find.

im not sure, but it sounds like stealth bane posting

is somemthing similar to this line ever spoken in the film? or is it just because th dark knight rises?

enterprise water-cooling

...

Welcome to the shit tier of the enterprise world.

low center mass allows for sharper turns

do you even have wheels on your case?

Hot air floats up. So the heat generated by the PSU helps warming the video card and motherboard, shortening the lifespan of the components in order to make you buy new ones. It's a rigged game.

My nigga. This is what my first PC looked like. It was easy to work in as well.

You do senpai desu~

Hot air goes up ..

If you have a bottom mounted PSU and it affects the internal air flow you're doing it wrong.

So there is more surface for heat to escape on top

You don't need redundant hot-swappable power supplies on a fucking personal computer.

Is UPS a meme?

Because people started putting their cases upside down.

Dunno

As a physics fag I would agree but in real world it wouldn't actually matter. Most of the time you are not even moving the case. And if it is a shuttle case PC it doesn't even count since the surface contact area is so big.

However unironically what suggests (un)intentionally, most of the heat created in the PSU would actually rise and the hot air would directly hit the mobo if the PSU is on top. This is not favourable.

Last time I owned a home desktop the PSU was on top.

>Grounding
lol what? Did you honestly think you cannot channel the grounding wire downwards?

>Wire Management
Depends. You have no idea how troublesome it was back in early 2000's. Compared to that I actually have no issues with the wiring.

>if the PSU is on top
bottom*

My PSU is installed sideways.

this!!

It's a big fire.

>not having his airflow set up properly
literal nigger
