Sadly I had to install Windows for some games that wouldn't run on my Arch box, so does anyone know if Microsoft Toolkit from mydigitallife is safe? I was thinking on decompiling it but it seems obfuscated, here is the report from hybrid-analysis. hybrid-analysis.com
For anyone talking about botnet, im using the LTSB Enterprise version, it seems that you can really disable telemetry with that one, but i have my doubts on that also, so any info is welcome. Thank you.
Windows 10 Activation
Install gentoo
Ask yourself this:
Why the fuck is the toolkit closed-source?
Just buy a fucking license.
or install non-ltsb and phone activate?
>buying windows
its not possible to do that with that version? i was just googling that phone activation method but i cant find anything about ltsb... I think its the only win 10 version worth installing desu.
Yeah, arch + qemu + vga passthrough would be ideal but im on a laptop so im kinda fucked. Wine performance is shit.
It's fucking 20USD in play-asia.
Don't buy from g2a
you don't need ltsb to disable telemetry. alternately, you can still phone activate with 2015 ltsb
Not with the 2016 one? I'll have to get the iso then.
Can't you play the same game in windows 7?
but muh DX12
exactly
It's a good idea to use a chinese kms server for activation? Im thinking on doing this:
slmgr /ipk
slmgr /skms
slmgr /ato
other than your computer pinging chinese servers every 7 days with your hwid, there's no issues.
i thought it only pinged every 180 days since I've used KMS activation on servers that got V& and still had an activated OS after every 7 days or whatever.
Well, it doesnt seem that bad, ill give it a try. That's the only data that is sent to the server?
y-you know Windows 10 is still free, r-right?
KMS Activation Renewal
KMS activations are valid for 180 days—the activation validity interval. To remain activated, KMS client computers must renew their activation by connecting to the KMS host at least once every 180 days. By default, KMS client computers attempt to renew their activation every seven days. If KMS activation fails , the client will retry every two hours. After a client computer’s activation is renewed, the activation validity interval begins again.

Well there has to be a registry key to change the interval I hope.
No it isn't, retard. Kill yourself.
Okay, I was right, here's some nice info, maybe it's useful for you also.
>worried about botnet
>has no problem using chinese cracks
I always find this shit to be mindblowing
Well if it's only pinging the server every 7 days it doesnt seem that bad...
for a truly botnet free solution you can set up a kms server on your raspberry pi or router
you can set up a KMS server easily. KMS toolkit lets you then just type in 192.168.1.x instead of some chinese IP on that KMS activation script
Any open source kms emulators? I found a couple on github but they are old.
Any idea of what this error could be? Server is running in localhost.
you can't activate against a localhost kms server
Just startup a VM and KMS activate off it if you are so paranoid about MTK.
>Botnet
Can't be disabled even in Enterprise Microshit has admitted this. Basically you can dial back the botnet to "minimum" but its still phoning home anyways. Use 8.1 and do the KMSpico method. Make sure to actually get it from his legit site as it doesn't exist in normal search resits since it was stricken from Jewgle
guess what, windows already phones home if you use windows update.
Finally got it working using a VM, thank you guys!
How do they verify that we use an assistive technology?
Could I install a cracked version of win7 pro to get win10 pro through this?
they caught on to what people where doing so the thing that get downloaded in the standard upgrade. to get the assist version you need to email them now. gave it a try and it doesn't activate anymore.
For fuck sake. I just don't want the automatic update BS. If I had known, I would have change my legitimate home edition to a cracked pro when it was still the time.
Can you still use 7 keys in a clean install?
not anymore. even tried 8 and 8.1 keys. no activation. it'll upgrade (your programs will still be there) just won't be activated.
Can you post what you like about 2016 ltsb n? (pros and cons). I'm thinking of switching from 8.1 32 bit, to 64 bit of that version.
why the fuck are you running 32-bit windows on an amd64 machine?
It's a prebuilt from 2006. Came initially with 2 GB of ram, upgraded it to 3. I don't think the mobo (shitty prebuild) can handle more than 3 though (accord to its manual).
Well, no preinstalled metro apps, no edge, no media apps and full control over all features and updates. You get only the security patches. Found out that you can uninstall Onedrive from installed programs, that was a nice surprise. Also DX12 works. Screenshot related.
You can get digital entitlement if you purchase a MAK, and then convert the key to the specified OEM_NONSLP key for 2015 or 2016 LTSB. After a reboot it *might* be converted to DE.
>security patches
>implying
Metro apps are great though, and level 1 telemetry is not invasive at all, you're making a big deal out of nothing because you think it makes you sound smart
I'm just autistic i think.
This guy is a Microsoft shill don't trust him.
Metro apps are cancer.
>does anyone know if Microsoft Toolkit from mydigitallife is safe?
It's obfuscated for a reason.
>Not invasive.
"And within a couple of hours of that hitting the world, with the listening systems we have we knew that we had gone too far and then, of course, it takes some time to roll out the update that changes that behavior. And those two weeks were pretty painful and clearly a lowlight for us. We learned a lot from it obviously."
Chris Capossela, Microsoft’s Chief Marketing Officer
>metro apps
Tried it with Windows 8.1 multiple times, doesn't activate with a straight upgrade anymore.
Most of them seemed like shitty wrappers or poorly made last I checked.
