KDE Plasma 5 was a mistake

>was released first in 2014
>forced on users in 2015 by all major distros despite being a buggy piece of garbage that crashed every 10 minutes
>literally worse than KDE 4 in every single aspect
>it's one week from 2017 and it's still the same bug infested, crash prone DE
>the KDE devs even made a distro but it's just as unstable

3 whole years of development for nothing.

Why wasn't KDE 4 good enough? Was it too stable? Not cancerously flat enough? Just why?!

werks on my machine

KDE 4 had more bug for me than KDE 5,
and it run faster than Gnome 3 on my netbook, how do you explain that ?

Every version after 3 has been a bloated mess
even motherfucking microsoft learned fron the skeumorphic ui mistake

Except windows 10 is trash, nobody uses it, and everybody who has heard of it hates it

Been using the KDE Neon distro and I've literally never had an issue with it.

Try running it on a computer that isn't trash.

>>literally worse than KDE 4 in every single aspect
It's literally built up from the KDE4 codebase so I doubt it. What's even more puzzling then is why it's still chock full of bugs despite being made for like half a decade by this point.

Because Gnome 3 is cancerous garbage and not using it is the only right thing you did in your life.

KDE 5 is better.

I've used kde4 and it never crashed for me.

Windows 10 RTM was crap, yes.
But Redstone is pretty usable, it fixed most of the bugs and perf issues.

I think one of the major benefits of Plasma 5/qt5 was hidpi scaling support. Too bad when I tried KDE Neon about a month ago hidpi scaling didn't even work for some reason. No even after I tried restarting my computer and keeping scaling at 200%.

Did you set the font DPI? IIRC there were separate settings for fonts and some general scaling setting, if you wanted to make the text bigger it was with the font setting that you had to mess with. It worked decently well for most things.

^ this guy knows what's up

It must be hard being too stupid to wrap your head around a non traditional and superior way of working.

KDE 4 was also a crash prone buggy piece of shit when it came out, nobody wanted to use the first versions of Kubuntu because if it, I remember it clearly.

This. OP is full of shit

They just broke konqueror for me.

Now it just starts in web browser mode, they deprecated the --profile option and I can't force the filemanager profile anymore. Did anyone else face this issue? I'm using dolphin meanwhile, it's not as good but acceptable

5.8 is as stable as plasma 4

You do know KDE5 is a fucking rewrite, right? Qt5 brings wayland support as well.

Retard

Plasma 5 is shit, but it is far better than KDE4. Even if its still unfinished at this point.

Also, KDE devs still can't into design. They must have something against UI consistency.

>nobody uses it

Kubuntu is always shit

Works for me :^)
