I am so done. How does the Linux OS expect to be taken seriously when it can't even do the thing.
Sup Forums lied to me about Linux being good. Maybe once Linux is capable of doing ALL the things it will be a worthy replacement for Windows but now it can't do all the things.
I've dealt with this unironically from compsci plebs. Amazing.
Jeremiah Barnes
>OP can't do thing >literally 2017 wow what a fucking retard, why don't you go back to another OS so you can do thing you stupid casual normie. Personally I never wanted to do thing so it's your fault for wanted to do thing in the first place u gay fag

Install TempleOS
Adam Clark
The thing can easily be done with a simple command:
linux def does suck tho. I can't even program anything or get it to boot. Wtf? My windows loads just fine and holds my hand for me. I now know all MS related programming languages and i can actually play video games. Video games mean so much to me. Plus i can shit post a lot faster because windows actually boots up. Linux does not boot up. Linux is trash. You can't even install a flash player on it. Also how can you install anything when there's no exe files? Windows 8 and 10 are literally the best OS' out there. Vista was the all time great though
Adrian Murphy
Is this the designated shitposting thread?

I bought my linux on ebay, thinking i'd save some money that way since non-oem windows was $300. Worst fucking decision ever. Turns out it was the 32bitsedition and I'm 64bits. Where are the rest of my motherfucking BITS!?

But egrep is equivalent to grep -E. Are you saying he should use grep -e instead?

You started all right but then you crashed and burned at the Win8 and Vista thing. Even the normalfaggest of normalfags hate Vista and 8 - mostly for meme reasons, but still.
Ayden Anderson
you're right OP, the reason is that Linux is just a kernel
Jacob White
i knew tons of people that liked 8

Linux isn't a replacement for a brain. You have to be smart and self-sufficient to be free.
Win 7 has been patched to be a botnet. Win 8 and Win 10 core OS is a botnet.
Landon Hughes
free from what?
Austin Flores
datamining, spyware, botnet, etc... Win8/10 turns your computer on randomly whenever it feels like. It forces you to update whenever IT wants to with no choice from you. Telemetry built in if turned "off" defaults to fully on. Can only set telemetry datamining to medium. Low setting only available to enterprise version. keylogger on by default. OS collects up batches of data and routinely ships it off to MS servers.
Linux doesn't look as pretty but at least it's actually secure. You update your OS only when YOU say so. You turn it off or sleep it, and it STAYS in that state until YOU tell it to. You own your PC on linux.
Ryder Myers
Vista is better than 7 and anything after it.
Jackson Young
>install Linux >no internet connection >no drivers for internet connection
>install Linux >reboot >touchpad turns off and won't respond to toggles >command to unload the driver and reload crashes X >have to shutdown computer to get touchpad to work again
Lincux will defend this.

Both of those issues happened on Ubuntu, Debian, and opensuse.

I've installed on dozens of different machines and I've only ever had one driver issue. It was a wifi driver issue and was solved when I hooked up an Ethernet cable and updated. I mostly use Ubuntu/Linux Mint/Debian/Bodhi Linux, so there I am for reference.

I liked it too, but the general consensus is that it's shit.

Gavin Walker
>Vista is better than 7 and anything after it. >Fight me IRL To be fair, the Longhorn pre-releases before it was branded Vista and RTM were fucking AMAZING. I still can't figure out how MS managed to fuck it up so badly before the RTM version.

OP here, as you can clearly see, this is my very witty parody on the type of threads i'm seeing here. What's funny is that it seems to have progressed in the same direction as any of the non-parody threads.

forgot /s just incase some tards are here. I understand windows kiddies may not get it.

I never had a problem with Vista... It worked fine for me, but Windows 7 was the first Windows where Microsoft started treating their users as children with pain in the ass ownership privileges and so on.
You guys probably feel you need to be protected from yourself, but it utterly disgusted me. They should have had a baby version for you babbies. It was the windows version that made me use Linux. I am back to windows now because of work, but Linux is way superior. fucking windows 7, it's trash... I remember people going "Oh, windows 7 is so great... At last I can be treated like a baby like my momma used to do" which you fucks still do... fucking hell, windows 7 is marginally better than windows 10, but it is not good by any stretch of the imagination.

Windows is like a plastic butter knife and Linux is like steel kitchen knife. With windows kids feel always safe to use and have fun with it playing to be chefs, doing things like cutting tomatoes or maybe onions, even if they do it in a slow or clumsy way, but meanwhile they feel happy and satisfied with themselves. Then when they see you cooking with the steel knife they starts wondering how it feels, then they starts whining that they want to cook like you and want to use the steel knife instead the small plastic one. You say that you cannot do that because you're busy but you'll teach him later. The kid gets angry and start whining more that he want the knife now and don't want the plastic one anymore, you tell him that to use the knife he must practice and be patient, meanwhile he should start with a smaller one. The kid gets more angry and tell you that he don't need your ugly and stupid knife because the yellow plastic one is more cool, and more safe, and he can do the same things, and that this one is not allowed for adults to use. Then you laugh in a light way like thinking 'that's cute' and you just say ok.
Jace Rodriguez
Later in the night when you're sleeping, the kid takes the steel knife and starts playing with it. He feels very exited, this one is heavier, shiny, it cuts things very easily, now he feels like a professional. Then he try to cut harder things, or trying to cut the vegetables in small cubes. During his play he mistakenly cuts his finger and starts crying very loud. You wake up and hurry up to see whats happening and you cure his finger with a bandage and cleaning the injure. The kid starts blaming you saying that this is because you didn't lend him the knife when he asked, that you never have time for him, that your shitty knife is dangerous and you're a retard for using it, that he didn't need anyway, that was your fault for always treating him like a kid. The only thing you do then is hug him and say, 'ok but promise me that you'll not try to use the knife again until being more grown', the kid just nods with his head while a tear walks over his face.

Until recently I believed all these microsoft shills are just some troll wannabe Sup Forums kiddies but I was completely Wrong.
Microsoft has been deploying Evangelists to support developers[1] since a long time.
Although a leaked document explicitly mentions that they are not here to support developers, they are here to shill microsoft[2] and undermine [3] other companies.
These are not just trolls. These are professional shills.
Ditch Microsoft products
Don't be fooled my Microshills. They never cared for the users. Their latest strategy is to compete with google for mass surveillance with built in spyware. Data is the most valuable good in the next century and Microsoft is trying really hard to become the monarch.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
