2-way tie between XFX and MSI.

ABS rule

Always. Buy. Sapphire.

+1 to this.

I've got the XFX RX480 black edition and I can't hear it, even though the case sits on the desk next to me.

What about the cheese grater?

what this user said I own the MSI RX 480 8gb and my case fans give more noise than my card it also has very good cooling

Doesn't that Sapphire colander run a bit hot and sorta noisy?

Msi rx 470 the cooler is great very quiet

Sapphire and XFX.

Is Gigabyte no good?

I currently have a XFX 270X and it's kind of loud. Are the newer cards better?

Don't tell for it XFX is garbage, search for XFX PR Campaign, they are investing plenty of money in shills and marketing if you want good cooling on AMD go sapphire or msi

Obviously.

cool and quiet? msi or xfx, sapphire for a more luxury feeling build, I just wish they made a triple fan nitro card like powercolor.

gigabytes card is one of the hotter ones, like, 80c+ under load, then you thermal throttle. there are just better options

Or let me put it like this. My build is shit...an fx 8320e (NOT OVERCLOCK at all) on a cheap ass MSI 970 krait. 8 gb of 2133 ddr3 ram.

A decent enough but not over powered system...many would call is shit (and do so with some justification).

I added an RX 470 8gb sapphire. And although I'm no expert I can run the following games on maximum settings at 1080p with zero performance issues.

Alien isolation.
Dues ex mankind divided.
Hitman.
Tera. A shitty mom with shit optimization.

Aside from Tera these are all recent AAA offerings. I have zero hesitation recommending this card. Its also really fucking quiet unless you crank the fans to maximum.

Now Sup Forums swears my cpu and motherboard are garbage...but I can play whatever the fuck I want.

Take it however you want...I don't even know if those games are difficult to run...it all looks fine to me.

Sapphire or XFX.

EVGA

...

>maximum settings
Even with msaa or an other intense as on?

I would read the reviews on Newegg first but MSI has always been the best for me.

RX480 Sapphire Nitro+

can the 480 even run 1440p gaym good?

Triple A games made within the the 3 years maxed out, some yes, some no, depending on how demanding the game is but hands down, it can pull 1080p 60fps, max in all but the most demanding like witcher 3.

I would say you could run any 7th gen game 1440p max no problem, but if you want to max out newer games at 1440p, go with the 1070.

SAPPHIRE IS A MEME CARD!

OP here. Decided I'm going to get the MSI 470 4GB

I just got the Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ 8 GB.
I don't care much about the LED's but I like the fact that the fans are easily replaceable.

I'm a student and travel a lot back and forth between countries, for months on each end.
I need my desktop pc for gaming as well as work and, although I take all precautions while travelling like removing the GPU and other sensitive components from the case and taking them with me on person at the airplane, as well as stuffing the things that travel inside luggage with soft cloth and bubblewrap and putting fragile stickers, accidents do happen. The crude handling of luggage by airlines is partly to blame. So, I think it may come in handy.

Fag

Currently wrecking shit with the Strix 480
Just picked it up on boxing day sale for $379 dollarydoos

Love you too

I'm running similar specs (8350 on the same board and a light overclock 4.2GHz), but I'm thinking of tossing an RX 480 8GB MSI card into this box which currently has a loud old 770 in it (which is going into another box soon anyway). The idea being putting a second in with Crossfire in the future in the event the price goes down considerably.

Not sure why I'm sharing.
