I don't own it. I own this ebay.com/itm/172253294512 and it has the same Burr-Brown chip with capacitors so it won't damage your headphone drivers. Burr-Brown chips are the best look at high-end DACs that use PCM1704 which is nearly discontinued and will cost $100 a chip when stocks dry out.

There's nothing wrong with saying it has optical connections. There's something wrong with calling a sound card, a DAC.
DAC is a generic term for a digital-to-analog converter, it doesn't have to have anything to do with audio. And what you were talking about was a sound card. Something that is able to communicate with some bus of your computer like USB in this case. Typically includes analog out with the help of a DAC, analog in with the help of an ADC, and conversion to other digital formats like S/PDIF.
Basically calling a sound card a DAC is like calling a car an engine.

I fucked up and was really unclear I have a cabinet but nowhere to place it (space situation changed soon after purchase) For the time being I plan to make a 2 person fight stick with whatever it is running MAME inside of it. Later on I can drop that into the cabinet and plug it into the monitor.

works out of the box with eGPU so I have a mini gigabyte GTX 970 that can be powered by the Dell PSU you can get from gaybest with the EXP GDC eGPU adapter. it uses the mPCIe for wifi so i got a buffalo 5ghz mini usb adapter
if i could do it again i'd shop around for an i7 to get quadcore / more GPU power but overall i'm super happy with this purchase
