Does windows have a future, now that the dust has settled?

Does windows have a future, now that the dust has settled?
Should I make the switch to (GNU +)Linux, for a main driver os, if i don't game?
Do you like it Sup Forums?

>does Windows have a future
Yes
>should I move to gnu/linux
Earlier the better if you're concerned enough to consider it
>does user like it
It's fine

>Should I make the switch to (GNU +)Linux, for a main driver os, if i don't game?
If you don't play games and don't depend on using very specific software that only runs on Windows, there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be running Linux.

>games
Buy a console
>adobe and some other bullshit for work
Get a computer from work with everything you need

Use linux

Thanks for the heads up, Sup Forumsuys. Deeply appreciate it.

You too user, thanks.

I made the switch about a year ago and it's been fine. Only keep the windows 7 partition around for gay ass iTunes and my fruit phone

>Buy a console
>not a VM with GPU passthrough
come on user

I just installed noobuntu.

Now what?

>Now what?
What do you mean?

Do something or turn off the computer

>Buy a console

>encouraging people to buy a planned obsolescence machine
>being forced to upgrade when they come out with a new model
>being naive enough to pay premium to play online
>once game servers close there's no way to host your own and games become effectively useless
>game prices much higher than PC
>abysmal sales on digital versions
>one part breaks and the whole thing gets sent away on warranty
>controller breaks, buy a replacement that's 1/4th the price of the console itself, all 3rd party units are absolute dogshit

Yeah, no

just install ubuntu

fuck all the fags that tell you to do complicated shit for no reason
it isn't that linux is hard to use, its that there is no reason to do all the bullshit yourself? what is the point of manually adding drivers, editing the xconf, installing your own DE when you can just install ubuntu and be done? Sup Forums is really stupid when they tell new users to go and install arch or something

if you are coming from windows, then that will provide the best experience for you anyways.
and it gets easier, once you realize that everything you knew on windows has a free alternative on ubuntu that is just as good. the only thing that sucks is gimp because i can't be assed to learn the controls all over again

>learn gimp
Use the single window mode and that's it

>Games
Pirate windows and dualboot

>Does windows have a future, now that the dust has settled?
No

Learn common commands, mainly, stuff like tar and basic file navigation in the terminal, the move on to learning how to use things like grep, piping, etc.
