>2017 >using anything other than Keepass for your passwords.
>This is a stable release. It is recommended to upgrade from any previous 2.x version to 2.35.
>KeePass 2.35 mainly features a new database file format, user interface enhancements, and various other minor new features and improvements.
>Hash sums and OpenPGP signatures for integrity checking are available, and program binaries are digitally signed (Authenticode). New translations are available, too.
nice, hopefully these features make their way down to keepassxc.

if you type them somewhere, they are not always in your head

What's the difference between Keepass 2 and KeepassX?
Josiah Cooper
You is NSA shills
Aaron Gomez
>entrusting your most precious data to a bunch of freetards >not just paying for a real password manager
John Ramirez
as of october of this year i will have been using keepass for a literal decade
and my thoughts are: it's good and useful
Bentley Parker
Keepass used to be windows only, KeepassX was a reimplementation using Qt for cross-platform gui. Keepass has since made linux versions since mono/.net has been ported to linux. KeepassX is a little dead, if you're looking to use it give this fork github.com/keepassxreboot/keepassxc a shot. The fork is mainly intending to merge PRs that KeepassX has been ignoring and and really just be more active a project.
Jacob Moore
2.x uses mono a version of .net framework for linux. the X version is build specifically for linux i believe
Daniel Edwards
I just created a LastPass account.
Convenience spoked higher again. How much I fucked up, Sup Forums?
Jayden Miller
>account You fucked up pretty bad
Blake Walker
FUCKING 4CHANX, where is the option to forget last name at browser restart?
Levi Jenkins
this its so damn useful. one of my top #3 programs that stays open 24/7
Josiah Martin
My setup for Keepass(XC) with a firefox addon (PassIFox) to fill in password forms for me and create new entries/modify existing entries when a make an account on a website or edit a password. To sync between different computers I use syncthing which does a good job keeping desktop/laptop/phone all synced up as long as at least one of them is on (desktop always is and eventually I can stop being lazy and setup a tiny server for it on one of the raspis I have that will draw less power) The only issue I have is that the android keepass client doesn't do the autotyping and I have to paste passwords but then again it's my phone so I shouldn't need it very often Honestly curious, I don't really like to use cloud services so I haven't checked out LastPass, how much more convient is LastPass over this sort of setup?
Jackson Gonzalez
s/setup for/setup is/
Alexander Ward
Lastpass is great. I don't see why anyone would hate it, other than boogieman conspiracies.
Levi Ross
>other people (who have had security breaches) in charge of your security >having one big juicy target instead of many smaller targets >leaving your security in the hands of closed source software >creating an additional attack vector for phishing attacks >muh cloud but sure yeah, it's pretty convienent

I trust my money more in a bank than a cardboard box under my bed.
Juan Collins
I remember seeing dedicated blogs posted here a year ago on cracking Lastpass accounts since apparently it was pretty easy, don't know why everyone suddenly forgot about that now.
Colton Myers
No need for a cardboard box when you can run your own decentralized vault.
Lincoln Bell
Yes, that's a bank. Ie Lastpass.
Eli Cox
Lastpass is anything but decentralized. It's a bank sure, but it's a bank with a pretty bad track record for robberies.
Andrew Cox
banks have their deposits insured, are heavily regulated, and usually have a human being you can talk to for advice and help
if something goes wrong with your money at the bank, that isn't your fault, the bank will do what it takes to put things right.
if something goes wrong at lastpass, tough shit
the point i'm making here is: lastpass is not a bank. they don't act like a bank, and don't have the same responsiblities a bank does. they're not a bank. they're just some company.
Blake Anderson
>I trust my money more in a bank than a cardboard box under my bed.
stop living around niggers
Mason Torres
Lastpass is like asking the NSA to hold your passwords for you.
Cameron Cooper
You don't need a complete random password to make it strong as long as it's long.

Keepass has a linux version now, but sure. Snowden probably used KeepassX
Jaxon Allen
So many new features, too bad my plugins won't work with the new format so I'll wait a bit
Julian Taylor
Browser integration sounds tempting. The autotype library KeePassX uses on Linux never worked perfectly on my end.
Leo Stewart
If you're already on KeepassX, it's a painless switch. Give it a shot (maybe make a copy of your password database to be extra safe)
Ian Perez
uhhh...
Caleb Price
Use it on my Desktop.
Use MiniKeePass on my iPhone.
No online password manager BS.
Angel Adams
Now? Very little. KeePassX uses Qt, though.
Both are cross-platform
Carter Robinson
Yeah but who cares? It makes the password for you

Imagine the interns that the NSA pays to newfag here. Really makes you think.

How long do you think it would take the NSA to crack my accounts with it?
Jeremiah Fisher
>accounts >crack
they don't have to crack shit. if you actually use it for several accounts, they just have to look for the one retarded service that stores it in plain text.
Benjamin Russell
