>[citation needed]

its not le popular msi for the win xD

Friend got the GTX 960 and the fucking fans broke.

i'm rocking a zotac 1050Ti and I have to say i'm perfectly happy with it. Good price, good temps, good power usage.

mine works fine

why though

bought their 1060 and works like a charm, overclocked it on arrival, 5 months going strong

>rocking

It's a turn of phrase

Zotac is actually a very nice brand

>Good price, good temps, good power usage.

that's because it's a 1050 ti, not because zotac made it.

gigabyte master race.

no.

Zotac is bad. Zotac cards just don't last.

>zotac 5200 gt
literally exploded after 2 years

>zotac 8600gt
fried after 3 years

Then I stopped buying zotac. And guess what: I never lost a card again.

You're happy with your zotac card now, just give it some time.

If you want cheap and reliable get EVGA, they cost the same and can actually be trusted.

Doesnt MSI have the best dual cooling setup though?

People used to tell me Powercolor is shit.

Then I got a Powercolor card and it worked fine for 6+ years.

I'm at the point where I'm pretty sure its not the brand's reliability that matters, it's their return policy. Find the ones that aren't complete dicks. The ones that don't fuck you over just cause you don't have the original purchase email from Newegg or decline to help cause you dont have the original box.

>EVGA
>reliable

Reliable kindler perhaps.

Anyone whose not using PNY is wrong.

>no AMD cards

Shit by default

Agree. Bought a mini PC from them for some light weight media PC use and it died within a few weeks.

The whole EVGA thing was blown way out of proportion.

Turns out it was actually just a few bad cards well within the normal margins of failure.

youtube.com/watch?v=mpxQaSjQclo

EVGA is actually god tier as far as GPU brands go.

t. poorfag

>5200GT
It's almost like you're trying to say times are always changing. Should we remind you about EVGA?

evga IS reliable simi, as long as you don't OC.

evga, zotac, asus and some others offer the fastest GPU for the lowest possible price. That means shitty PCBs, fans and whatnot. Among those EVGA makes sure their cards last as long as you use them right.

If you wanna OC you get MSI gaming X, Sapphire nitro and whatnot.

Not everyone mistreats their cards.

sorry I meant this piece of shit. It was over a decade ago, don't remember the names exactly.

this is now a retro gpu thread.

I had this one, I remember back then you could change it's firmware and "soft upgrade" it to a fx 5500.

I did it and it fried two weeks later.

msi is garbage autistic shit. most expensive of the manufacturers, and you get a free genwunner charizard muh gaymer aesthetic to prove how much of an autist you really are.

I remember that meme. Glad I didn't try.

nah EVGA is shit, bought a psu from them that were dead on arrival. Rma'd and i got a psu that was worse and cheaper even if they have rule that you will always get your product replaced with something equal or better.
So I contacted them again and this time they me a supernova g2. But the thing is that i specified thousands of times that i had a small case and bought the first psu for that reason. So i contacted them again and this time they actually sent me the right one. But guess what, it was fucking dead on arrival too so i just fucking gave up and just got my money back. Fucking never EVGA again.

>tfw my first GPU was NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64 Pro

Long name indeed

>not a radeon 7000 32MB SDR PCI version

pci and not even ddr, holy shit that was a slow card but it was light years ahead of playing on software only rendering.

not having an agp slot was suffering, didn't get an agp card until the pentium 4 days.

Idk man my 2 year old 980 amp extreme is still running like a champ

TRANSLATION

>PSU was DOA, rip, contacted evga about RMA. EVGA: Sorry user, we dont have any in stock right now, but we can send you this instead. >its better than what he got, but wrong form factor, he forgets, agrees to it, they send it, it doesnt fit, he blames EVGA, requests another RMA, they tell him the one he ordered is still out of stock, so he options for money back

Was there a valid point about why one shouldn't buy MSI in that rant? All I can see is "Sum1 didn't buyy muh brand!" braindead, consumerism bitching.

As for it being more expensive, the EVGA FTW was definitely more expensive than the MSI armor for the gtx 1080. I can't say anything for other products though as I haven't looked at prices.

I still have this GPU, holy fuck i could get 90fps in any Sierra/Valve game.

I like Zotac to some degree.

My first ITX rig was a zotac g43-itx wifi board with a q9450. It even let me oc'd to 3.4ghz. That was a great board for 775, can't recall anyone else making a itx board of that caliber back then.

I also had a zotac gtx 970, the one with short pcb and two fans..
amazon.com/ZOTAC-GeForce-GTX-970-ZT-90101-10P/dp/B00NNXVPS2

I had it for just over 2 years, in a small shitty itx case. it ran 85-90c pretty much every game session.. for two years. It never failed me.
That cooler is pretty fucking shit tho, the fins are sideways so it just dumps the hot air around the card inside the case and not out the back. Thats fucking retarded for such a small cooler.

Tho two of my friends with the same card have had both their cards just die on them in 6-12 months, and they've had atx cases with good circulation..

so far so goof with my 980ti amp extreme i got shortly after they came out. best card ever. probably gonna get a 1080ti amp extreme asap.

ive had problems with evga and msi cards. no issues with asus or zotac.

Im using the 1080 MSI
>isn't the 1060 shit compared to the 970 and 980?

The 1060 6gb were a ok upgrade from 970, think it is on par with 980 for most things, maybe alittle better. Alot lower power draw.

I just got it because my 970 was over 2 years old and the 6gb came on sale for under the price of a 3gb.
Got Msi this time, waiting wor a pascal bios editor that lets me get rid of the powerlimit and adjust core voltage..

same, got zotac 1060 since day one and works and OC like dream
>>isn't the 1060 shit compared to the 970 and 980?

it's having a bit better perf than 980 and is 10+ fps ahead of 970, if you oc it it's 4-14 fps behind stock gtx 1070/gtx 980ti so it's hell of a card

youtube.com/watch?v=DSdyRgAjq4A

better than the 970 but not as good as the 980 :s

How is this card?
newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16814125908

Of course Zotac is shit. They're owned by the same company that owns Gigabyte, which is another garbage-tier brand.

While you're right about their high prices and stupid looks, the quality of the PCB and power delivery on MSI cards is high, in addition their cooling solution is one of the best ones out there, despite its looks.

Blower fan is never great. Also gigabyte is a mediocre brand at best.

Weird. The founders edition has a blower.
They have a version of the same one, but with 3 regular fans, but every review says it has obnoxious coil whine.

Have you been living in a cave? The founders edition is the fucking worst cooling solution in existence.

Okay, if Zotac is shit [citation needed], then what would be an ideal choice?
ASUS is expensive as fuck here
Gigabyte is one of the tied-for-second most expensive
Galax is the cheapest
MSI is the second cheapest
EVGA is the other tied-for-second most expensive
Sapphire is average price
XFX is the cheapest
HIS is the morst expensive

And funnily enough, FE's cooling solution is a piece of shit. A blower style design is only a good idea in a few select use cases where it's highly beneficial for the graphics card to have its own little isolated ecosystem so it doesn't heat up the rest of the system.

This is only an issue in very, very small and cramped cases that can't get rid of hot air quickly enough, or in setups with many cards stacked on top of each other.

>Not owning a leadtek card

...

evga was the golden standard for nvidia prior to the vrm issue, just goes to show that any manufacturer can fuck up at any time.

Zotac is not shit OP is just a retard.

Zotac sounds chinese. everyone know china made is bad. Cant wait for trump.

got Zotac 1070 amp edition in August, no issues so far
also I have a Gigabyte HD6750 since early 2012 still running

I may be wrong but Zotac is from Hong Kong, and oddly enough the production value is a lot more modern and western than most other companies I've seen, the worst offender being MSI.

Have zotac 660, 2.5 years of usage. Doing fine, i have to admit tho that i game very rarely now

That's because the founder's edition is not meant for the general market other than some """"enthusiasts"""". I.e. why it's overpriced and the cooling is shit.

>Blower fan is never great.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Give an example where the blower style fan outperforms a regular cooling solution then.
Right, you can't.

>anecdotes:the thread
Fuck off with this shit. How much are you autists willing to stake on one Taiwanese shit company being better than the other? Newsflash, they all suck.

Friendly reminder that someone paid to increase brand awareness for Zotac posted this thread.

EVGA and PNY are possibly the worst graphics card AIB companies that do make the worst graphics cards gen after gen (and whatever other shit they peddle)

Why is everyone here such a bitch. Every brands has falling products once in a while. Don't be a douche pls

>t. retarded shill
You obviously have ZERO knowledge about the topic.

>Gigabyte
>expensive
nigger what?
you forgot:
PNY cheap and shit

mine just werks fine

Here are my top choices:

EVGA - good all around choice

Gigabyte - good for overclocking
MSI - good for overclocking

The rest are not bad, but these are the top 3

EVGA is still good, don't listen to the bullshit.

>"they look autistic so they are not good !!!!!11!!+1"

Are you serious ?

MSI is reliable same

Hey, don't be dissing my $25 560ti.

...

is probably someone who blew $400 on a workstation board to look 'mature' for the internet

I made the mistake of buying a gigabyte card to only find out they are fucking voltage locked ;_;

>PNY is the worst
PNY makes the Quadro cards you fuckwit.
