IBM Server cases >>>>> PC Cases

...

Just started working on it.

...

I would literally suck a dick for them to use this design on standard ATX, mATX, and ITX cases.

Here's an actual answer.

such a beautiful case, and perfect for air-cooling, but too little storage support

I can see how it could be, fortunately I can get by on 3 ssds. But yeah it's so awesome for air cooling.

>tfw bought Antec P160 around 14 years ago and will probably be using it for the rest of my life unless ATX goes away

Yeah, then you're good to go. I was very excited for it but I'm running four 3.5" HDDs and four SSDs.

Shiiiiiet! That's a lot of storage haha well you could probably get by with an FT02 and some 5.25" adapters

sauce?

...

Cheeky cunt :^)

a modernized slab would be kind of cool I guess, it's decently timeless, spacious enough and can be mounted vertically if needed

nigga that is a 42u rack, calm down
www-03.ibm.com/systems/linuxone/

Only kiddie gaymer faggots still use desktops.

Nice shitty hobbie

sorry, never saw it before and it tickles muh aesthetic bone.

ITT:

>newfags.

The case I own now, the Silverstone FT02.

dont get me wrong, it looks cyberpunk as fuck and i'd love to have one
maybe if i knew shit about plastic or metal fab i'd make an atx version

Not my rig

But I love the way they turned the motherboard 90 degrees and how the air is drawn from the bottom. Three air filtered 180mm fans blow a steady breeze of cool air up, and since heat naturally rises all the heat naturally just flows up and out of the case. Even on low silent fan speeds this case cools better than any other case I have ever used or seen.

And the air filters keep everything dust free.

...

'I'd buy that for a dollar!'

genius. simply genius.

...

blast from the past

that thing is in the national cryptologic museum, right next to the NSA headquarters i I've been there before it's shit.

Lovin my phanteks enthoo pro m acrylic. Case I had before it was the fullsized enthoo pro with no window. Tbh im probably going to only buy from them from now on.

surprised it wasn't posted sooner

...

Lose the window, make it in marble instead of aluminum, and you've got a sale.

>make it in marble
u wot

>marble?
nigger wut
but yeah I wish it had no window

You know? The metamorphic rock?

(You)
Nice bait.

Hey I have that. Good case.

...

yeah, foliated calcite. i'm just trying to wrap my head around the logistics of that. are you gonna glue a thin slice of it to an aluminum panel?

You can get hydrodip film of literally any pattern you can think of. Wood grain, marble, carbon fiber look, flames, comic book shit, literally anything. There are thousands of designs for sale.

This bad boii

There;s a windowless version in black.

>windowed cases for life
You outgrow that shit by your 21st birthday if it was ever appealing to you in the first place.

:^)

oooooo
sauce?

No, that would be pointless. It's got to be nice quarter inch thick rock, at least.

The interior can get some aluminum mountings bolted on so the computer parts are secured.

This. Got the Obsidian 900D a year ago.

If they don't change the ATX specification, I suspect I'll never buy another case again.

It would be immobile for most of its life then. And possibly too heavy to place on top of most furniture.

I get it. It would be aesthetic as fuck, and it could possibly have some based thermal capacity. But if you dropped it, or whatever, the marble will break, and ruin the case. Not to mention whatever is inside. And accessing the inside will be a chore too. Imagine unhooking a marble slab every time you wanted to tweak something inside. Artsy idea, not very practical.

Despite my points. Yes. Yes I would buy a marble case.

Marble would not make a good heatsink. It would only work in the short term. It would eventually soak up the heat and reach equalibrium and get hot. You want a good conductor with lots of surface area.

Ever stand near a rock wall on a summer night hours after the sun has gone down? It can still be so warm you can feel the heat radiating off it from several feet away even though the sun has been down for 3 hours.

to be a pedantic cunt, it would make a pretty good heat*sink*, but not a good radiator.

Why would you need to turn the case into a heatsink/radiator when you're blowing cold air into it already anyways?

Corsair 900D

inwin 904

...

This. I own an r5 and an S. Both great.

FUCK YOU

I have the RV02E and it is an amazing case indeed.

Would be perfect if it had a ventilated siding instead of a dumb window.

won't fit SSI EEB or EATX, right?

That would be a stupid restriction to live with considering the impending death of the consumer desktop market

you know that thing is the size of fridge-freezer right user?

this

>You can use one case for the rest of your life
I already have it.

>2 built in thinkpads

neat

...

I have the 450D. It's not too bad, but the stock fans are kinda noisy for my personal preference.

>window

full tower IBM case or anything from SGI

Found the underage

...

honestly overpriced just for sleek

same mentality as applefags

elite 130

Underrated

Already do
It's old and huge but I never have to worry about anything fitting, and built like a tank
Maybe i'll build something smaller later for a media server tho
It's called chenming dragon apparently

What the fuck am I looking at?

Looks like a little baby piggy. It's cute.

/thread

Overpriced?

I like mine. Still gets dusty past the filter sadly. Need to blow my radiator clean soon.

true, adds a whole layer of cute

perhaps its ehrre i have mine but i only need to dust it with air twice a year. the thing i hate about it is putting the panel thing back on. but what i love most is the weight, 3kg is great

Is this loss

...

>housefire waiting to happen

Which is this

>no IBM Case

Phanteks will suit me well

You can live in it even.

Which processor

its just a google image i found, not mine -- at least not NOW.
