Don't get me wrong, I totally get the benefits for gaming, especially games that require high latencies, but if you're just using your computer for media and an internet machine (social media, streaming, etc), is there really any benefit to running an ethernet cable? In some cases it ends up being a ton of work, ie. you have to run your cable through 2 floors and a wall

If it's a desktop computer that's more or less permanent, you might as well run a proper cable to it instead of using some fruity wireless shit.

Another Ethernet cable.
