Recently upgraded to a i5 4590 for 225 €
You fucked up hard.
You didn't research and therefore bought a 4 generation old Intel chip that's locked for same price or more expensive than an unlocked chip of current gen.
i got a xeon e3-1231v3 for less than that a year ago, so pretty bad
The hell user?
A haswell processor for that much? Come on man. You can't even overclock it.
I would have had to get a different mobo and even ram... Thats atleast 50 € added to the cost.
How much for a mobo?
depends where you live, my man. why don't you ask google and find out?
Skylake and kabylake have very marginal improvements.
+ on the used market in my country there was nothing of interest on the same socket. There was a 4670k on sale for 160 € in november, but I didn't have da money then.
I ask what you paid for one.
no you didn't, but around 80€
I was hoping that it was self explanitory, but I guess not.
Anyway, buying a different socket motherboard was a risk that I wasn't willing to take because of my custom case, hell it could have fited if I had.
I'll post a pic of the case when I'm at my dorm.
If that includes a motherboard, it's OK.
If not, you dun fucked up
it's not a bad chip, but you could've done a lot better for the money. enjoy it in good health anyway
Haswell's still good performance, but you got jewed by about 100 eur. Try for a seller who isn't in Israel next time.
>4590 in 2017
I'm pretty sure I bought my 4670K for ~250 maple syrup funbux in 2013, that's pretty bad.
This but i got it for burgers instead.
It might be old, but in my country the price hasn't changed much or if at all.
Plus looking at neweeg and Amazon it was the same price.
But it's still a very very capable CPU. It benches on passmark at 7100+, however mine got 7300+. I knew it wasn't anything near a bargain, but it was what I wanted. I could have gotten a used 4460 for cheaper, but that's a pleb tier CPU.
Retail prices never go down for CPUs / Motherboards. You need to buy them second-hand if you want a good deal.
It is a big improvement over your Celeron though and I'm sure you'll like it
.-.
I have been... For like the past two weeks.
>You need to buy them second-hand if you want a good deal.
As I said, I had no other choice at that time, no second hand options.
Considering I got a 4770k last year for 200, very very bad.
tfw 6700k for $162 total
Being a wageslave retail worker worked out for once
...
i got an Intel Core i7 4770K for £221 second hand on ebayer, never overclocked either..so,yeah..you don goofed.
Fucked up pretty hard, I could sell you one from my home servers for 150$
Pretty bad honestly. I bought 4590 few months ago for 140e new and got buyers remorse.
Playing hitman on it currently, though.
Where the fuck did you get it for 140?
4590 is not skylake. you simply fucked up. accept it
You fucked up. I got a 4690k for the same money like a year ago.
