Does the honor 8 have good audio

Sixth for the best poorfag chifi headphones.

pls

is it at least better than the iphone 6

For $35, is the Panasonic RP-HTX7 any good for travel headphones?
I really like the looks of them, but I don't know if they sound any good and most sites don't have much on them asides from people liking or disliking them.

If it all possible, I would like headphones that reduce outside voices.

I had these and liked them, they were nice. They stopped working after a year of use though, so not that durable.

Post headphones

My new cheap-o chinese dap/amp arrived today

It sounds pretty good overall... especially since it cost less than $30 shipped.

>grados
ahahahaha, are those bath sponges as pads?

Debateable

Lets go bois

I have an honor 8 and I don't think so..
But it's always good to support Chinese brands

Those are not the duck mod, no. They're Sennheiser hd414 pads

Got a pair of these (Bose qc35s) from a family member. How do they compare to sennheiser hd201s?

Forgot pic

Much better, enjoy the gift. They're great for portable use and if you travel a lot the NC is very useful. Not the most detailed sound there is but since it was free , why not??

How's the sound quality over wireless? I'll probably use the wired most of the time, but if the quality is good enough I might go without a cord for once.

can't decide between these four open back headphones

Sennheiser HD 598 SE used $117
Audio Technica AD500X new $73
Spadger CD-990 (open back HM5s) $70
Philips SPH9500S new $55

what I want in a headphone from most to least important is

comfort,build quality, sound, price

60% of the time I'll use them to browse the internet watching twitch.tv, youtube videos, movies, anime, etc another 30% gaming, lastly 10% high quality music.

Have the hd598se, dunno about the other ones but these are one of the few headphones that I can wear for a good while as they don't hug your head too tightly.

According to those numbers it's really good. I think it's better even better than the axon 7. It's weird that they don't brag about it

What headphones are in the Op?

yes I have read the 598 are really comfortable, the others seem to be hit and miss on a lot of people.

either they said they are really comfortable or they were extremely uncomfortable.

9500's. Seriously, they're awesome... especially at the sale prices they're selling for lately. The only complaint I have is that the currently available SHP9500S model comes with an annoying cable that wants to stay folded, so maybe consider an upgrade. It's a minor complaint, really.

SHP9500 have the best balance of build and comfort. Also breddy good for gayming.

500X would be better for gayming but arent quite built as well, and some people dont like the headband system.

Well I bought Used dt770s at 250Ohms off of Amazon. They are defective and occassionally cut off audio to the left ear, and I am not happy at all about this.

Should I bother going with Used again when I rebuy them or should I bite the $200 for a pair of new ones?

Check with different devices.

I dont see why not to go with used. I doubt theyll ship you the same pair again.

I already have checked. It's most definitely the headphones.

...

...

cool, do you think it would be benefit from a dac like HiFime Sabre 9018

Using a Bose QC25 here. I'm actually surprised how flat the response is with NC on. How does this thing work?

>How does this thing work
built in EQ and DSP.

It doesn't have the sound stage of an Open headphone but I actually prefer this to most closed I've used. This is bizarre, I expected the response to be heavily compromised....

which of these should I use to listen to jazz? Kamasi Washington to be particular: DT 770, AKG K712, HD 598 or Fidelio x2?

K712 imo
X2's second, 598's third, 770's last

I was thinking the same. thanks lad

>tfw enjoying some prog rock through my HD800's

Feels good to not be a pisspoor faggot. Must be pretty awkward to reach for a pair of headphones and realise they aren't HD800's, if it were me I'd just fucking kill myself.

>

specs there are good but incomplete to tell for sure. highly likely that it's basically a transparent source for most loads.

>Sup Forums approved
what's that? tell us your budget and what do you need it to do.

you rarely have to compromise the response if you have eq at hand.

>still not stax or audeze

lmao

No highs, no lows, it must be Bose!

Definitely not accurate for the QC25 or QC35.

After getting recommended M50s by you guys, what's with the hate for the M50x? Overpriced?

wtf i love stax now

It's probably the cable. Fixable with some skill, google for tutorials.

Just retarded bandwagoning and people riding the Zeos hype train.

M50x are fine if you want V-shape, but the 770's outshine them in almost every regard for not much more. They're just not that great in terms of value.

The cables are frustrating and the default pads are dogshit

K712 goes pretty nice with Jazz. Had mine for a weeks now.

yeah & thanks to grado dorks using up the stock for that dumb mod of theirs, i'm gonna hard up to keep my actual hd 414x in replacement pads within a few years. stay in your own lane, fuckers!

Mostly irrational gibberish. Audio-Technica raised the price, changed the pads into a bit softer ones and made cable detachable with three cables included in the box. Overpriced is very subjective, I don't think they are. They fill a niche of bassy/V-shaped closed back headphones with foldable construction in their price point. I don't care for them personally, I not only find them somewhat uncomfortable but I also think the cheaper M40X has a nicer response. But that's my opinion. I sold them to a friend who swears by them, loving the sound.

Hoping I didn't just buy into a meme

CANCEL!! Headphones from newegg.com are known to fail within 1-2 days.

Will I get a benefit from using an amplifier with my DT880pro as opposed to connecting them directly to my macbook pro, aside from the amp delivering higher volume?

Yes. Your MBP is unlikely to power 250Ω headphones adequately, which usually leads to overall worse performance (clarity, punch, attack etc.)

Reminder.

fuck off

If you lack volume, yes. Otherwise no. rMBP has low Zout headphone output with good performance. Being a laptop you might not have enough voltage at your disposal for decent listening volume. And in this case you would benefit from an amplifier to drive the headphones loud enough.

No. Impedance is irrelevant, especially so when the impedance is high. Clarity, punch and attack are just descriptions of the frequency response and this isn't altered.

Just ordered creative labs ep-630, how badly did I fuck up Sup Forums?

I just got new IEMs but whenever I touch someone, there's a sharp static sound that comes out of them. Anyone know why?

Are sennheiser HD598C good headphones.

I mean are they worth 110 dollars or did I get fucked in the ass by the Krauts?

if you like their sound maybe

Its my first set of "good" headphones, I have been using sony 30 dollar headphones and shitty earphones for ever.

They changed things up it seems. That's a different box and cable that came with the one I bought sometime last year. My cable is 3 meters, had one metal end and one rubber, and the box was mostly black. Looks like the same cable material though, and over time it should straighten out.

Just realized they added an S one the end of the model number. Makes enough sense. They did a few cost cutting measures, like not using the gold plating, and including a 1/4 inch adapter. At least they're in production and sold for cheap, and the prices aren't rising now.

I just bought superlux 668b. Someone please tell me I didn't buy shit that only lasts a year.

You bought something that lasts forever and I'll tell you why;

668B's are good, but only when you get new pads, and then they're just good. You'll want more, and you'll justify buying more. Before you know it, you'll have purchased Fidelio x2's used on eBay or literally any other headphone. You'll put your 668B's to one side, and they'll last forever - while you listen using your newest set of headphones.

Tell me I'm wrong, I thrive on other people's tears.

Around $100-150~ flexible but budget minded. Higher is fine if it's truly worth it and not some incremental upgrade.

Only notable one is the CAL. I like it a lot despite being very flimsy and the cups are small for my ears.

Thanks much.

I would also like to know about options for a dac/amp separate from the cost of the headphones at $100 or below. I hear the Fulla 2 is recommended but I don't think it and other usb only dac/amps can be used for consoles? Console use is a much lower priority but it would be nice and worth extra cost without compromising quality. My mobo does not have an optical out so it would need both inputs.

>trying this hard to justify the wagecuck money spent on buying sengarbage

SHP9500

That's the revised SHP9500S version. The original SHP9500 has better build quality plus with the 6.5mm adapter and the storage bag.

Can't really go wrong with that price though, I got my og SHP9500 for $70 a long while ago.

I am that guy who got an Element DAC/AMP recently, and I was finally able to test it right. Overall it's an improvement over my stock macbook, tighter bass (altho a bit dry), better detail, better highs and things just sound clearer. HOWEVER, there is one thing that I didn't enjoy at all and that bugs me out more and more, vocals. Vocals feel dryer, they sound clearer and more detailed with Element, but dryer. I don't want to trow fancy words, but Vocals sound expressionless with Element. My headphones are HD600 and yes I know HD650 are warmer sounding but I've got HD600 and I don't feel like replacing them.

What should I do? I still can return Element and get refund. Should I do it and look for another amp/dac? Which one? Or maybe I can equalise female vocals to sound less dry? I live and die by the vocals.

you buy new headphones with more treble, like dt880

you learn to eq and stop fantasizing the effects of your amplifier

How getting dt880 even compute with softer vocals?

What do I EQ to make vocals softer/warmer? I am not fantasizing amp's effects, this is what I heard across different songs heavy on vocals.

HD668b (with replacement pads and extra foam) >literally everything else

youtube.com/watch?v=pdMjSRlEC5A

Anything wrong with these?

They seem to be unbeatable for under $100 price point, and include the critical inline controls

Are you looking at these for portable use ? Baceuse if not I would suggest HM5s

Could someone help me choose between the new Sennheiser HD 2.30s and the Audio-Technica M40x? I'm down between those two and I don't know which one to get.

4.30's. Sorry

SHP9500 sucks fucking ASS. I got it, uncomfy, muffled, big ass L and R makes you look autistic. This shit actually sounds worse than M50s.

Thoughts?

SHP9500S at $59 or HD558 at $89 with the mod? Pros and cons?

> Thoughts?
Clean your ears and keep your ugly ass indoors, problem solved.

my ears are clean, senpai.

You really won't know without a double blinded test and you can't set up one without proper equipment. In the case two amplifiers sound different, one of them is defective or unsuitable for the load. The Element is good and so should be the MacBook aside from the possible lack of volume. Reasons why I doubt there's any meaningful difference between the two(aside from volume):

>both devices have good headphone outputs
>HD 600 is not a hard load as long as you have enough voltage(volume)
>you did a sighted listening test which is as good as useless at evaluating amplifier performance for plethora of reasons
>your descriptions of sound don't mean anything specific and don't correlate with how amplifier could alter the sound

Might as well forget the amplifier part. It really isn't some magic device which makes your headphones sound better and any case the Element is certainly powering the HD 600s without any audible shortcomings.

Install equalizer APO if you are on Windows. I can't be of much help on other operating systems but any parametric equalizer will do. You should look for 1-3 KHz region first and lower it slightly if you find vocals harsh. Extend the range up to 5 KHz if needed, play with different filters.

those look so pitiful

>you did a sighted listening test which is as good as useless at evaluating amplifier performance for plethora of reasons

I am not gonna go as far as describing and nitpicking on every possible sound character, but saying that without AB comparison nothing can be told apart is silly. Bass changed and it's noticeable, no matter the volume levels the one on the Element is tighter than on macbook.

I will mess around with EQ then, thank's for the advise on regions.

but sound so beautiful

What pads are those? HM5 Hybrids? How do they effect the sound compared to stock?

How should I decide whether I should get open or closed headphones?

it's pretty fucking obvious

Have you tried or looked into the MDR-V6?

I have them

>$100 (got them on sale for $65) on Amazon
>closed
>envelop your whole ear
>I, personally, find them so comfy that I wear them even when not listening to sound
>p neutral sound

The portapros would have been my second choice; I ended up getting them for my brother for Christmas and I've tried them a few times but don't prefer them
