Thats rather impressive considering Samsung is making them. They must have pretty high perf/watt for the Koreans to buy out the full supply. I wonder how their Exynos chips will fare in comparison, that may be a driving factor in the decision.

In terms of performance Apple's A series SoCs has been very competitive in single threaded CPU performance, and over all GPU performance.
Feature wise though the rest of the device tends to be lacking. They don't try to beat out companies like LG and Samsung when it comes to offering the newest cutting edge features. Even the Chink manufacturers with their $200 and $300 devices have been ahead recently.

They're trying. Unfortunately because they focus so hard on aesthetics and "muh thinnes" they are starting to skimp out on efficient cooling for their chips. Their iPhone 7 plus is already getting tons of overheating and slow performance complaints.

Kek. Snapdragon chips have been a generation behind apple and Samsung ever since the move to 64bit.
The 835 will be equal to last gens cpus from apple and Samsung.

Or LG should wait until there are 835s in stock. Releasing the G6 the same time as S8 is absolute stupidity because Samsung has so much more money to spend on advertising for the initial release, they'll get absolutely smashed in a head to head battle.
