Costco is selling a unlocked 16GB Moto G4 for like $220

Is that a good deal?

Country: USA
Carrier: T-Mobile (I know, I go to Europe a lot so they're really my only option)
Any Xiaomi options open to me? Would prefer something I can flash. Been on an S4 going on four years and it's all cracked and shit.
I have a real camera so phone camera is nice but not hugely important.

Yes
Yes
Yes

It's your best bet if you don't want to import a phone from China.
The Redmi Note 3 has an international edition with the bands you burgers need iirc.

Thanks!

When are we getting the deets on the 'Mercury'?

Is 40€ for a iPhone 5C with a cracked screen a good deal ? I mostly want to use it as a MP3 player since the headphone jack on my current phone doesn't work anymore. Is Linux support is good for it ?

is buying a moto z play a good idea? have a nexus 6 and the amount of heat it produces and the battery life is killing me

4-inch rugged phone?
CAT phones are too big for me.

Galaxy S7 or Xperia XZ?

I haven't browsed this general in months. My Redmi Note 3 Pro is insane. The meme is real.

Thank you Sup Forums

Get the Lenovo P2, pretty much identical specs for way cheaper

no

what linux support its an iphone

buy a galaxy s1 used for like 20$ and a 64gb microsd for another 20$, install voodoo sound and that's that.

Just switched to a Moto G 4th gen (the $100 refurbished best buy was selling) from my Note 7. Is thier an app replacement for the always on display? Or does the Note 7 have special hardware to make that work without drinking battery?

Also I understand Android 7.0 is officially out for it, since my phone is not grabbing it OTA I assume I gotta flash it on? Is that something a pleb like myself can do without killing the phone?

phone died, going for a budget phone:
zenphone laser or moto G4 play?

Moto G4 Play If you're a burger, chinkphone if you aren't

why the distinction? enforced superspyware for motorola exports?

Always on display needs amoled screen to work, as it can switch individual pixels on and off. With LCD all pixels have to be on, so it'll use way more battery.

Most chinkphones don't have all the network bands needed for US carriers

Why would a manlet like you need a rugged phone?

I'd pick the XZ just not to have to deal with touchwiz, but if you don't mind it then the S7 is probably the better phone

What's bad about Touchwiz? I've never used a Samsung before.

don't bother buying a rugged phone it's stupid

buy a regular phone and buy a rugged case

It's been a while since I last used touchwiz but
>ugly and inconsistent design
>loads of samsung bloat apps and useless gimmicks
>laggy and heavy on memory usage

Though from what I've seen/heard its not nearly as bad as it used to be. Still, I prefer android as close to stock as possible. You might find touchwiz to be just fine.

I just noticed on my Moto G the google search bar is on every screen. Long holding it is not giving me a option to remove it. How do I turn it off?

The version on my Note 7 was very light. And with themes it would look 100% like stock android

Sony
>Shit hardware
>Good, relatively close to stock Android software
Samsung
>Fantastic hardware
>Shit software. It might be fast when you buy the phone, but it will get slower at every update.

I'd pick the Samsung one, but both are trade-offs.

Depends on the launcher you have. Easiest way is to get a custom one such as Nova launcher

Google Now launcher does that, use another launcher (Nova Prime) and set it as the default one, then go to settings>apps and delete the data and cache from the "google" and "google now" app, not the "google services" one since that's the store, otherwise it'll still show up in the multitasking screen, now reboot and never use anything google again (gboard, chrome, google, gmail) or you'll get the permanent search bar again, or just flash another rom without gapps/with minimal gapps since you have a very mod friendly phone

Surely I can just remove some of the bloat if I root it?

I was planning on getting a Redmi Note 4, but finding out about the Indian version made me reconsider waiting. Should I wait to get it? Is it already available somewhere?

Last 2 phones had 5.5" screens, that's over the course of the last 3 years.
I now need the opposite: Smallest form factor possible.

This is what I found so far:
gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_495599.html

Anyone else having suggestions for this ᴬᴰᵛᴱᴺᵀᵁᴿᴱ?

>Vibrator
lewd

At that size you might as well go for the smartwatch jew, get a Z3/X Compact if you want a small phone, don't bother with ios shit, it's pure trash.

What's good for T-Mobile? seems like everything is unavailable on that network

>he doesnt own a mate 9
whats ur excuse?

The Indian version is kind of a downgrade from the Note 3 Pro. Weaker SoC and way less LTE bands (you won't get LTE in most places outside India)

>non-honor huawei phone

no, I want a smartphone in smartwatch size. can come with like nothing, but it has to work and hold at least 2 days when idling on the phone network

This is wrong. It's enough to go to settings -> apps -> cogwheel in top right -> default apps -> assist & voice input -> assist app: none, reboot and the search bar is gone in the recent apps screen.

too expensive

OP3T

I felt having a Snapdragon alone would make it worth. I thought having a mediatek soc made it harder to get updates or something like that, guess I was wrong.
Is there going to be any kind of sale because of the chinese new year?

Just got Oneplus 3T.

Man is this phone sublime.

Note 3 Pro has a Snapdragon, the 650, which is more powerful than the SD625 in the Note 4

>powerful
new meme: powerfulness

Asking about Verizon's "upgrade every year" model:

Say I buy a smartphone (let's go with an iPhone 7), and I decide to upgrade to an iPhone 8 next January. Will I still be under the original 24 month contract or does the switch put me into a new 24 month contract?

anyone have an experience buying used off of amazon warehouse? does it come with a warranty, if so how long and can i increase the warranty to a year?

Country: cyka blyat
Any cheap phones 5 inches and under?
Apart from the obvious Moto G4.
I bet the idea of "cheap" will be skewed because we have ridiculous import taxes on electronics.

Actually, what places do you recommend to order phones from? Not US.

LineageOS is finally here guys.

I think I bricked my phone with an experimental build

Xiaomi Redmi 4A or Mi4C for ~$100

its better than honor tho

Pretty good deal for americlaps

gsmarena.com/b_h_is_offering_free_headphones_and_a_battery_pack_with_the_purchase_of_a_honor_6x-blog-22976.php

pls ;-;

they usually give you 1 year warranty. Often the little discount aint worth it tho

seriously? so if i get a like new i get a 1 year discount to boot? do i have to go through the manufacturer or amazon for that?

the phones offered there are mostly returns that amazon couldn't sell otherwise. But I don"t really think getting a phone a "like new" phone at 20 or 30 bux less, but with less warranty, is worth it. Maybe if you're a completely desperate poorfag. But otherwise?

i have the funds to buy new but why not save the cash? while it's a small amount 20 to 30 bucks is still less money that i didn't have to spend. I guess a better question is how long is the warranty on a new product?

> The netherlands
> Doesn't matter as I will likely switch
> Good with facebook, youtube, enough space for updates (my current one is 'full')
> 200 bucks max
> I'm used to a 5 inch screen so that'd be nice

>charge for 8 hours
>stuck at 88%
>restart phone
>battery at 41%
Is my phone's battery/mobo a kill?

You should've bought a Zuk Z2 instead. Now you're stuck with a phone with inferior SoC

Superior in everything else though

Why does it take like 5 seconds to take a picture on my phone after I press the button? I have a Galaxy S5

what's the catch on the z2? the bezels look hueg

i dont want a case because why buy a tiny phone only to put a huge case on it, is there anything else i can use to protect the screen that isn't a shitty glue-on piece of glass? ive got cats and all the dumb tricks like running a shower for a couple minutes didn't do shit.

should i just give up and go with a case?

Moto G4 Play

ZTE Warp 7 - $70

Decent budget phone.

5.5" 720p
Quadcore snapdragon 410 - Not super powerful but its $70
2gb Ram
USB type C Connector

Try resetting the camera settings

I have a Moto G. Is upgrading to a Moto G3 Play worth it?

Pretty nice. Should have made it 5" though

how do I do that

Can you unlock it?

Go settings -> apps -> select your camera app -> clear data

You mean Moto G4 Play?

Galaxy rugby pro

Did you notice any input lag?

didn't work, but I just realized the auto-detect low light levels is what's causing it. anyone know why?

What Xiaomi phone is this?

Nope. The G4 has hardly any ROM support.

Xiaomi Mi S leaked specs

But there isn't such a phone as "G3 Play"

Try disabling picture stabilization

yea but the bezels arent that hueg, I had a warp elite beforehand 5.5" screen but square huge bezels this one feels much better

>no G3 Play
Oops, the 5 inch one

That is indeed the G4 Play like the previous user said, you're just dumb, as for if it's worth upgrading from a Moto G1 depends on you, the phone still has the old SD410 but now it packs an extra GB of ram, keeps the removable battery, supports LTE, some models are dual sim+SD card, is bigger and is a lot sturdier than the G3 or even the G2, it's also the most popular of the G4 family, having 4 official builds of popular/known roms (AOSP EX, LineageOS, Resurrection Remix and AOKP), a few unnoficial ones (XOSP, XenonHD, crDroid, CM13, CM14.1, ZephyrOS) plus 2 custom kernels if you want to overclock/underclock it.

It does have its downsides, mainly only being splash resistant whereas previous moto G's were waterproof, no longer having a notification LED (only a hidden bluish white one that can be enabled only while charging) and worse camera than the G3, but then again it costs way less than usual (99-130 dollars, it used to be $179).

not that user but I just got mine a couple days ago too, shocked at how amazing it is. first full charge and drain got me close to 6 hrs screen on, no touch lag on mine everything flies... it's insane, idk why I didn't get one sooner

This is Moto G4. Hope you don't get a buggy unit.

Have you tried a factory reset?

Literally isn't.
>worse camera
>worse DAC
>micro USB instead of type C
>3GB ram instead of 4GB
>much more delayed and infrequent updates

Only advantage is slightly bigger screen and slightly better battery life.

>worse DAC
Hahahahahaha nice one

I was talking about the 2015 Moto G. That one has more roms than the G4.

No. They're 200 on Amazon

How many more roms do you need?

Yes. A dozen times now. Tried installing CM13 and some other ROMs. Battery's still fucked

The G3? I don't know, it has a better camera than the G1 but it has a smaller battery than the G4 Play and it's unremovable, it also lacks the notification LED.

Don't bother with the G3 Turbo, it packs a mediatek processor and those almost never get custom roms, why do you need them so much anyway?

Time to RMA it then

I'd like my phone to have rom support for years.

Then stick with the Moto G1, it's among the most popular phones on xda right behind the Redmi Note 3 Pro, i'd say you have until 2022 before support for it wanes since it's more or less the thinkpad X200 of phones for Sup Forumsentoomen.

Why should I consider buying anything other than a 7 Plus?

>inb4 muh headphone jack

I literally do not care about that. If I want to listen to music properly I'm going to listen to it on my computer.

Any real alternatives to the Sony compact line yet? I am completely in love with the moto e 2nd Gen form factor. Small svreen, soft rounded back, thick. It's so nice to hold.
