I-I did that one purpose.....

Should I use Min Min Guard or Adaway?

both. add in youtube adaway if you use youtube

The thread that I created got majorly ignored, so I assume I asked a really stupid question. Here is the stupid question:

What websites do you all use for programming? I know about:

stackoverflow
quora
github (bitbucket)
reddit
leetcode
ycombinator
hackerrank
projecteuler

Any other resources? Is Sup Forums the best board for programming or is there a better one? Is old school irc the best way to go?

how do i get my chrome tab/window history from another computer that has recently deceased? i am signed into the same account on both, and my bookmarks and search suggestions got imported

I need a wireless gaymen mouse, but don't know what it's called. Just the kind with configurable buttons on the side, and one that'll work with linux, it doesn't need high sensitivity. If no recommendations, what is that kind of mouse called?

I have switched to Opera after getting fed up with junky stuff in Firefox (slow) and Chrome (resource hog).

I have been loving it. Opera and Opera Mini come with built in ad blockers.

So I went to Titanium backup and pressed un-install on all these crap apps. Then when I go to the play store it asks me to update all those apps

Forward, back buttons.
FF has a multi threading option last time I checked. May just be for images tho.
Ublock Origin. Has a series of user generated block lists you can also add.
You pair the device via google. Should pull up the history. If not theirs the takeout option.
takeout.google.com/settings/takeout

>download latest nvidia drivers
>some fucking overlay comes with it
>watch porn
>the overlay pops up and asks I want to record
wtf? how do I remove this shit. I checked the settings and didn't find anything

i can't pair the device as it is dead. i did do the takeout thing though, but i have no idea what a .json is.

I seem to be getting the mobile version of google. What's the go with fixing it?
Custom CSS?

There are a few different styles google's running at the moment, you get randomly selected searchengineland.com/google-continues-testing-new-search-results-interfaces-including-wider-card-styled-results-249971

Uninstall "Geforce Experience"

how much technology do i need to buy to make her love me again

So, my dad's been using the same old desktop for years, and it finally broke down. It was a prebuilt that came with Windows XP. The most demanding thing he does is browse facebook, and watch 1080p youtube videos. I've only built overkill gaming rigs, so I'm not really sure what the minimum you need for 1080p video is.

What prebuilt desktop should I get for him? He doesn't want me building one.

>Uninstall "Geforce Experience"
but I like being able to click one button to update my graphic drivers after my alienware laptop giving me drivers ptsd

"Side buttons" is the term AFAIK. Or "mouse4 and mouse5"

I got the Kensington Pro Fit mouse
>seems Xbox Hueg at first but is actually comfy to use
>side buttons
>DPI change button
>wired

Remember, "configurable" just means that the manufacturer released their own mouse keybind software.

This software is usually
>locked to their mice
>Windows-only
Which means that some of the mouse's "functionality" is locked behind software.

That mosue comes in Wired and Wireless btw

IRC is good

For Python, the official documentation is also dead good

Whats a really small mini itx case that can fit a full size GPU?

I'm looking for a laptop for school (word, excel, nothing fancy) and general shitposting/weeb cartoons for 250 euro or less. I'm debating whether some secondhand business notebook from eBay would be good enough, or if I should look at a more recent budget consumer laptop. Those elite books and latitudes look pretty good, but I've read that the screens are horrid and the battery will probably be nearly dead, so that's holding me back a bit.

Wat do?

that's not even a real currency

try a mac book

github.com/travitch/datalog
This is for haskell. I'm trying to get this to work on my machine so that I can play around with it and edit it, how do I "install" this onto my system, or add it or whatnot so that I can start using it, or perhaps run the tests that is in the tests folder.

I tried running import Database.Datalog and that won't work.

Cool. Any good communities to discuss programming projects and techniques?

I'm at passwords.google and just realised that my chrome extensions are doing their stuff there, like if it was any other website.

Should I be concerned that an extension could steal passwords from there? It's https and I don't have shady extensions but it's still rather worrying.

Pls respond. I have no experience with this and don't want to overspend, or buy trash.

I don't know the details about the permissions surrounding Chrome plugins.

I have been tooold that hackers/spammers/marketers target plugins. They buy up popular plugins and then insert malicious code.

So, I would be careful about which plugins you choose to install.

p much anything should do probably
maybe show him this article:
libreboot.org/faq/#intelme

but I mean even a Pentium 4 can software-decode 720p Hi10 video without much problems, anything on the market today except notebook stuff ought to be able to software-decode 1080p H.264

See if you can find something with an A10 APU in it?

Anyone here have any experience with the Asus VX239H? I purchased one recently since the reviews were mostly positive, but I can't seem to get the colours/brightness to the right setting, my shitty 15 inch laptop screen looks better in comparison. I've calibrated it countless times but it just never seems right, either too dark, too washed out or the colours are off.

Is it possible my one is defective? Or is this just what I get for spending under $500 for an IPS?

>They buy up popular plugins and then insert malicious code
fug. that sounds too real.
Gonna uninstall some. Do you think ublock could ever be susceptible to something of this sort? Not sure where to draw the paranoid-line

Bump

basically
same deal as everything ever

Do you trust the software you're running

Because the extensions you have can indeed spy on ALL your shit
and do a lot of damage before getting booted by Google

After Uninstalling the apps[' updates],
you need to Disable them

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

I wouldn't know the exact minimum. But really almost anything would work. My pc is 6 or more years old and it can play 1080p. And it was far from bleeding-edge when bought.
Even shitty laptops can do it now; hardware gets cheaper and I'd say virtually all integrated vidyacards are good enough for that.
I'd try to advise him tho that building one has got heavier advantages. It's generally cheaper, it feels gut, it's easier to replace its things, and you can hit on the exact amount of resources you're aiming for. Prebuilt ones will swing about the minimum you want more pronouncedly.

I doubt ublock would do something like that, but I guess anything is possible.

Before I install plugins, I usually read through the comments and Google their reputation. After installing, sometimes I also look at web traffic using the developer console to see if they are sending extra requests. If everything looks good, I feel safe enough to use the plugin.

I did a quick Google search on ublock. It looks like there was a fake one. Make sure you didn't accidentally install that,

Cinnamon or MATE?

My laptop screen is 1366x768 but my Windows 7 VM only supports pic related. I tried downloading PowerStrip and creating a custom driver for my PnP monitor, but I think it didn't work.

Any suggestions, Sup Forums?

How about you choose 1 website and 1 textbook instead of bombarding your brain with even more useless information?

There was a funny ass fucking video that I saw 4 years ago with like 4000 views of two guys (one was one of the fattest fuckers I've ever seen) destroying a computer, and I lost the bookmark to it years ago
I specifically remember them saying computer board plinko
I have tried to find it for the past 3 years, with no luck, pls help me Sup Forums, you're my only hope ;_;

XFCE t b h

>There was a funny
>ass fucking video
>that I saw 4 years ago
hehe

(Sorry I cannot help with your search)

>looks like there was a fake one
hory sheet.
I just ferociously checked and I have the original one, luckily. But really, this matter is fuel for my paranoia. It's good to be reminded of being more careful in any case.
Thanks for the help man!

why?

also, with a liquid cooler, what is actually in the lines?

Install the VirtualBox Guest Additions, that gives the driver for the virtual GPU/monitor that allows any resolution.

I don't know shit all about monitors or screen calibration, but I got a new Ultrabook that's touchscreen which is pretty high end.
The thing is, while it looks fantastic for media, when I put it next to my old Laptop which doesn't have a touchscreen there's a distinct yellow-ish tint on pages such as Google which have a white background.

I think I've had this same issue with a previous touchscreen machine, is this just how they are? It looks great for most things but the whites just seem off.

I've reduced the red and green in Windows calibration and that has made it better, but I'm playing with settings I don't understand so don't know if what I've done is really even a good idea

Any ideas?

liquid i would assume

Because moar fans must be good right? I suppose it could help cool the mobo voltage regulation circuitry, which can be an issue.

It's a mix of water, glycol or other anti freezing/boiling fluid, some kind of corrosion inhibitor.

Most likely it's your old laptop that's set to be way too blue. If you want perfect calibration, get a colorimeter.

What's the best bowser?

Can anyone identify the speaker and the two boxes to the left? I know it's a Sonus Faber speaker, but not sure if it's a production model. Sorry for potato quality.

The trick is to buy enough technology until you can love yourself again

The one at the end of 8-4.

>Most likely it's your old laptop that's set to be way too blue
Surely that can't be the case when the Whites look fine on that Laptop? It doesn't appear too blue-ish

This guy gets it.

I was also wondering how in the blazes to hook up my old Dell 5.1 system to my z170 mobo because some of the plugs do not match up to my motherboard (no soundcard)

I'm not sure what the old plugs were but I think one changed from a yellow to orange, likely the sub one.
So from what I can see the inputs are black, yellow, and light green; while my mobo's inputs are black, orange, light green and blue/pink for mic stuff.
Pic related, pretty much what I've got

Maybe your new screen whatever has the blue light set too low, my monitor has a quick adjust feature to lessen the amount.

I don't feel content for some reason until I get something every week or so, whether it's plastic animu figures, effay clothing, or computer parts. I realize this is a terrible habit, but how can I stop myself or at least make it less bad?

probably not the video but this has to be the guy
youtube.com/watch?v=OG4StOKFw7M

For ASUS fuckery i need to install windows 10 since 8.1 and 7 wont work.

Which iso is the one i need to look for?

Very sad, sorry to hear your troubles!
Have you tried switching the slots you have your RAM sticks installed in?

-ASUS Customer Care

That's the problem. I cant disable some apps

So I just came back from the store after buying replacements for the wacom stylus and mini USB cord that I lost on a field trip recently.

The cord works fine but the stylus isn't working for shit?

I specifically asked the guy if it would work with the old Intuos Pen Small because the original was grey and black and this is all black but he said he was sure it would?

Did I seriously just fucking blew 35 bucks because I'm an ignorant cunt?

I'm assuming reducing the red and green basically gives the same effect as boosting the blue light, is it a good idea? While it looks better to my eyes when it comes to whites, I'm not sure the changes are beneficial everywhere and there's a visible flicker on the screen whenever I highlight something after recalibrating it in Windows

So I bought a qisan magicforce recently with gateron brown switches. The typing experience is amazing. However in games, if I hold down WASD, the keys don't register properly and my character will move and stop continuously. Is this normal? What should I do?

Really couldn't tell you. My eyes were once bloodshot from playing Talos Principle for 12 hours in one day, not sure if that was from blue light, but I've noticed the blue light kinda hurts during the night gaming sessions, I switch it down a notch to level 1. Thanks based ASUS

Thank you based user

it wasn't boogie but he was as fat as him

I have an iphone 4. Some recent (maybe last couple months? Idk) time, my phone completely removed my voicemail setup. I cannot re-setup my voicemail because no matter what, it tells me "Voicemail could not retrieve access" (or something similar) and then hangs at "Setting up voicemail".

Had this phone for a few years with no trouble. What gives and how can I fix this?

Any recommendations on dual-SIM Android phones? It seems every one I run across is cheap chinese crap and all good phones are single-SIM only. Much preferable if it's easy to root as well.

Throw it in the garbage where it belongs

No seriously dude, what's wrong with your shit?
I had a fuck of a time trying to put W7 back on my machine, also asus, when I realized I needed to use and actual ASUS usb creator which allows you to install from a usb on a z170 motherboard because it fucks the usb slots somehow. It's on a utility that comes on the cd provided with the mobo. Hope this helps

should I buy a cheap $300 acer laptop? The only computer I have is a shit chromebook

Is there any other software like f.lux that can be changed per monitor? Using it right now but would like to remove it when watching videos on one monitor.

Is this worth 100 bucks?

Intel Core 2 E8600 Processor 3.3GHz
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
4GB RAM

How can I copy all the images in my Downloads folder to my server? I tried using rsync and cron but I keep fucking it up. Somehow I've fucked it up so bad it says connection refused, but only from this PC. I just clear the known hosts and it's fixed, but I'm not trying to fuck it up again.

Desktop? It's a pretty old CPU but if you have literally nothing it could be fine.

Yeah, my dad needs a PC but all he really needs it for is email and to watch movies. Will it be okay to watch HD movies?

logitech g502 is pretty good

flash a custom ROM without gapps

It should be, as long as he's not trying to watch huge 1080p rips it'll be fine.

They also have this for a few more bucks, i don't mind spending a few more bucks if it's alot better

Intel Core i3-2100 Processor 3.1GHz; Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit; 4GB RAM; 250GB Hard Drive

I ran Victoria today to check up on my hdd's health. How fucked am I?

I'd go for this one over the Intel Core.

You'll be fine. You just need a new hard drive.

cool thanks

Had to downgrade from Linux to Windows because Manjaro isn't using the graphics card for window management, overloading the CPU on my 4K monitor.

I really want to go back though, but I'm tired of reinstalling every time I fuck up (I'm not the most computer-literate guy in the world.)

Should I try installing the Zen kernel or wait for the nvidia driver devs and/or XFCE devs to get their shit together?

I know but I'm not sure how soon I should look for one before I'm taking an unnecessary chance. (Poorfag reporting).

My dickcunt ISP is too stupid to let my moron shitface housemate ask why the internet sucks dick without entirely adding him to the account, so now he's got access to the email I've been using with my fucking Twitter and shit on it. Yeah, I'm a retard for using an ISP email.

So who the fuck am I supposed to use? Gmail is evil, Microsoft is retarded, and everyone else is too small to guarantee they won't go away in two years.

My housemate wears stupid glasses and has a stupid beard and makes stupid iPhone games. I hate his fucking guts.

embrace a bit of minimalism
Your bank account will look much better if you stop copping pointless shit, in the end that'll make you feel much more comfortable.
Or at least try to save money for bigger purchases that'll change something, i.e. save for a new car payment rather than a hundred plastic figures

Just use gmail you cuck.

>I'm tired of reinstalling every time I fuck up
Install arch instead of manjaro, by installing it manually you will learn how shit works and therefore you will know how to fix it without reinstalling
>I'm not the most computer-literate guy in the world
neither am I
>Should I try installing the Zen kernel
Don't know what it has to do with anything, does it use GPU for windows? Anyway if not I would recommend linux-ck, pretty sure it's better than zen
>xfce
look for a window manager which is able to use GPU (you propably need some compositing one), you can use different WMs with xfce or just ditch all together

maybe you are the moron shitface. You delusional fucking retard pedophile. Have something to hide pedo? fucking creeper

Trackpad wont work with 7 or 8.1 because drivers are locked for 10.

Cant control brightness settings with 8.1.

Among other problems

If you back it up you're not taking any chances. We can't tell you how soon it's going to fail, that's not how it works. Those numbers just tell you the odds have gone way up, and you could be losing data here and there even if the drive itself doesn't go under.

Backup with clonezilla so you don't have to go back to scratch every time you mess up. And make sure you're using the proprietary nvidia drivers

Put rain X on a glass screen protector, no more fingerprints
Will it last? Has anyone else done this?

Hey one more bud

local pawn shop has an Acer aspire xc-603g for 100 bucks, is that better than the others?

Anyone with Cisco switching and routing exp help with a question I have?

Lets say I set up an extended ACL with the properties: "deny ip 172.168.5.0 0.0.0.255 host 192.168.1.15"

And I put that on the interface G0/1 which the 172.168.5.0 network is connected to. If I have a VLAN (let's say the 172.168.20.0 network) attached to the subinterface G0/1.20, will the ACL I placed on the G0/1 interface prevent the VLAN network/hosts on the subinterface from communicating with the host denied in the ACL?

when switching over hard drives to a new build, what do i need to do/download?

okay sorry, I'll rephrase. What would you say are my odds of waking up tomorrow and my drive being dead?
This is an almost 10 years old disc, it's survived its original machine's death.
