Guts thread

It must live on...

>EVGA 1080
>Gigabyte mobo
Two housefires in one

depending on when he bought the EVGA card the fix has been applied from the factory before it got shipped out

When did their mobos become housefires?

I have the thermal pad and bios updates from EVGA so we gucci senpai.

...

...

how to waste space 101

I wanna build an mini-ITX for my next pc but after this one I probably wont need to build another pc for another 6-7 years unless more cores actually become more useful.

I have the same mobo, should I be worried

>single gpu
>atx mobo and case

Why
For fucks sake, matx or itx

this 2bh

Thats an incredibly sexy case

Use to crossfire then went 980ti then step up'd to 1080. Also here's my itx rig 4790k/1070 combo

OP here forgot to mention its a node 202 before someone asks.

Ive always wanted to hardline a 202
But im not sure if a decent cpu and gpu would be too much for a single 120 rad
Maybe something more mid tier, like a kaby lake pentium and s 1050ti

rate/10

Build was tight.

apparently it was just a bad batch of card that were exploding

it was just a bad capacitor and not a vrm

veryhard.jpg

go easy

You'll be sad to know my motherboard shit the bed and was damaged en route back to gigabyte to get refurbished. Not sure what to do.... need to find an itx z97 board now. She'll live again soon.

When I first built it 7 or so years ago. Many upgrades since, but mostly the same.

too lazy to move my case to open it, and get a new pic. Will probably do so soon.

fans/10

tfw no rating

>that feeling when your DIY fan fix is MUCH cooler then the asus solution.

hnnng, that stress on that display cable

Also, keep the fans inside the case user

Could have routed that hose a bit better

How thick is the door rad?

3/10

ihavenoprideordignity/10

Asus is a shit brand, so no surprise there.

New rig, finished yesterday.

Nice case senpai.
Wire management is atrocious. 7/10

ingenuity/10

Saggy mess/10

some would say a waste of space... i say all the room for activities...

ayylmao socket 1366? what cpu you got under there, and overclocked?
and what gpu?

pretty nice rig, dunno about that psu tho..

airflow/10

>Just a batch of cards
>Bad capacitors
>Despite exploded VRMs
Lmao

>Thermal pads and a bios update instead of actually having a functional card
It was the vrms not just a "bad batch"

>all pictures showed it was just blown capacitors

the case actually has enough space for a 30mm 240 rad and slim fans as long as you pick a gpu block that doesn't protrude too much

why do you have toys in there

>airflow
>paying more for a smaller case

The spiritual cyber guardians ("toys", as you, in your ignorance, call them) keep the forces of evil and mischief at bay.

that's a fucking league of lel figurine m8

I realize this now. I will never buy Asus again I have had problems with a monitor a mother board and now a video card.

It's not actually sagging.... it's warped, it was running at 100c for a few weeks cause the fans died in it and i don't game enough to notice. when I pulled the heatsink off the thermal paste was rock solid.

stock cpu fan LUL

Whats the point of buying meme heatsinks that are bigger than car radiators when you arent going to overclock?

They're much quieter.

Am I just retarded or does one of the hoses from the cpu block just end? Does the fluid actualy circulate?

overclocking it won't make any noise.

it will shorten mtbf tho.

...

They aren't toys mom, they are action figures.

What's up?

Are you retarded? Bigger heat sinks can mean slower fans speeds which would be quieter than the stock cooler. There's 1 point to buying a car radiator sized cooler. Retard

>tfw psu and hdd are the loudest parts in my pc

Glad I didnt fall for the aftermarket cpu heatsink meme

R8/H8

Id rather B8

air cooled are fucking huge now. What are drawbacks of water cooling?

You would benefit from a rear exhaust card imo.

What are you temps like?

thots?

Dying from electric shock?

So, nothing? It's a closed loop system

Outdated video driver
Mid tier components
mismatched hardware
WD Blue
You should flip the PSU if its has a bottom intake in the case, otherwise you might have negative air pressure

Good wire management, clean look.
6/10. fix things, then 8/10

Extremely within spec. Granted this is at idle w/ and ambient of 24°C. Under load, my GPU can get up to 82°C and my Cpu can get up to 60°C

...

Yeah, load its sounds too hot.
You could drop a lot of Cs if you exhausted the video card outside the case.

Do they make exhaust adapter for that heatsink on the GPU?

What's going on with those HDs? I dont see an SSD, and a lot of mismatched models, and brands

I7 960 @3.8
Gtx770 now (460 in pic died)

Load temps are fine seeing as the absolute max temp Nvidia set on the 980Ti is 90°C and it throttles at 84°C and the only game that pushes it that hard is the witcher 3. All other games run around 72°C or lower, and this is at 1440p btw. I could also drop it a few degrees if I ran my fans at 100% however, I value lower noise more than I value lower temps beyond a certain point. And no, nobody makes an aftermarket blower because blower coolers are objectively worse. They are only better in tight configurations with limited airflow.

full pic

Will be posting another pic with the lights off.

Thinking about replacing the red LED fans with white. Thoughts?

Why phone cameras are so bad on inside shots?

Your setup looks better imo

Nice and clean, but wasted space.

Why would you do this.

Nice, but again, wasted space.

I had the 901. Good case. Sometimes I miss it.

Cozy.

Stop

Hey, that's me. Forgot I posted last night.

The rad was 38mm thick, then I switched to a thinner 26mm rad.

Yes you're retarded. They go to the QDC's on the radiator.

Nice

I love the FT02. Making a build for someone in my old one right now.

Ehhhh

Not enough mATX here.

Wasted space, but nice.

Nice

Nifty case.

Nice/10

Not bad

I've seen a lot of Westmere today.

Sweet.

take the fucking plastic off your graphics card

Remove that half ass sticker off the bridge link.

Does anyone have the picture of the cutie anime figure sitting in someones computer case on some aio tubes?

I got a different bridge because that one was ugly anyways.

Yeah, that would be the one to get. Pricey though

>All pictures showed it was just blown capacitors
You have a very fucking stupid idea of what a capacitor is. Let me guess you just heard it from one of your favorite shitty e-celeb tech youtubers

we got the same mouse boi!

I LIVE I DIE I LIVE AGAIN

>escaped the Pentium 4 HT Prescott housefire

Stopped caring 2 years ago.

gutsu desu etcu

I'm curious what the bleedover from here and /pcbg/ is. Who here posted there asking questions before building? Who likes giving advice there?
/guts/ threads, IMO, suffer from main problems. Lack of replies to rig posters, and premature thread death. How would you feel about merging /guts/ and /pcbg/? Seems natural to me.

I like the idea. Not sure how well it'll go.

only weeks to zen :3 :3

user please unplug all those cables and do an enormous amount of cable management
it can only be good
you can do it one cable at a time, one cable per day if you are lazy. But please fix this atrocity!

Why did you water cool a gtx 1060? that thing hits 2200+mhz on air. Why would you go from a 4790k to Zen?

originally assembeled in '03, last updated in 2014

why does posting from an ipad flip the photo?

>spending more than the guts on the case

Red makes it run faster I guess

Didn't see your build in a while. I think it looked better with the original Noctua fans to be honest.
Still one of my favorites though, 9/10.
