>not having metallic keyboard caps.

Tfw no JIS layout (return key, small backspace, small right shift) but regular spacebar 65% keyboard.

I bought a Das Keyboard and it has a faulty "W" key which makes it useless to me, fucking hell

>but regular spacebar
then that's not JIS, that is just another ISO layout

can't you return it?

>small right shift
>65%
65% already has a 1.75u right shift normally, can't make it much smaller than that. Unless you're thinking like a Clueboard with its normally 2.25u right shift, but that does support either 1u/1.25u or 1.25u/1u split shift on the right side

Yea but it's a pain in the arse since I gotta mail it back to them, I thought Germans where good at making shit that works

keyboard is very nice though, I decided to go against the logitech keyboard with all the flashing lights for some vanilla keyboard and it was definitely a good choice.. apart from the fact one key is fucked

so literally this?

yoyo

Is this a Model M? Someone locally is selling for 30 dollars so i might be lucky

tfw to intelligent too fall for the mechanical keyboard meme

Yes and that particular model is a late 80's model wich have the thickest steel plate.Definitely pick it up, you could re-sell it for way over 100 or keep it and have a great board.

>tfw to intelligent for keyboards

He says its a 5 Pin DIN so i guess i need a Soares converter to use it

Is it available ffom tzobao/ali/japanese sellers?
Shipping something from the US to me is really expensive and slow.

tfw to intelligent to have intelligence

It's a hobby. A majorly autistic, overly expensive, and ultimately pointless hobby for people that hate themselves.

And I'm not stopping anytime soon.

fucked if i know, china might not have cloned it yet

Don't bother those things are $40. Make one yourself for half that price

So I am going to build a keyboard. For switches should I make ergo clears, put heavier springs in gateron browns or pay the zealios jew?

What the heck this did guy do to fuck up a cable that much, that can't be from normal use

Gateron browns are just smoother Cherry browns iirc, so either ergo clears or zealios. Ergo clears are cheaper if you buy your shit from mechanicalkeyboards.com because of volume discounts.

kbdfans.cn/?p=517
Seems like they did, but case looks terrible.

das is an american company

I have one (two) of those plastic OG Filco keyboard roofs but they're for full sized keyboards. it fits on my 60% but half of the roof stands off of course. Is there a way I can somehow close it off from the right side after cutting half of it off?

Cut off both sides. Still protects from dust and looks good.

Do people really use those? I threw away the one that came with my Ducky

sure why not, why let dust get on the keyboard over night

You have plenty of options.

Is a good idea.

You could also cut the side from the 40% portion you remove and then either glue, tape or use heat to attched it back onto the cover.

Going to buy a Realforce today.

thats a big keyboard

what model?

So I've got brown switches currently, but since I'm planning to do a mod (SIP sockets in each switch for swappable LEDs) that requires me to pull out every switch anyway, should I switch to ergo clears as well while I'm at it?

just how dirty is the place you live in?

hubba hubba!

That was the admin keyboard of the old IBM 4704 banking terminals

The bump is also slightly more early and more apparent.
Zeals should be boycotted.

well i'm fucking silly I completely did not notice theres no top row function keys.

I thought its like the old terminal ones where you had like 20+ function keys and some additional keys to the left of the keyboard

I've been reading a lot about the bromine flame retardants that were used in keyboard plastics in the 80s and 90s. Many of these are toxic and have now been banned. And because they are not chemically bound to the plastic, they migrate to the surface of the plastic over time.

This has me worried. Does anyone know if there have been studies on this? Is it a valid fear? I fucking love my model Ms, but this stuff is putting a damper on my enthusiasm.

What doesn't kill you makes u stronker

You morons actually feel for the memechanical keyboard meme. You consumerist pieces of shit will buy anything that some faggot gayming company sells you. Your sick admiration with LED and super flashy colours is reminiscent of a little boy or dumb retard who is fascinated by the christmas lights. Neck yerselves, faggots. Writing this from my comfy ergonomic keyboard.

damn dude thanks for that post it really made me change my mind about keyboards you just owned this whole thread

model M cases are made from PVC if that helps

Sure thing kiddo. Gramps had all the right ideas. Maybe you should listen to your elders next time

You were thinking of the Model F 122 Battleship
(the one on the top left)

The Model F 107 actually weighs a hell of a lot more than it. I think it's heavier than my beamspring too,

>gayming company
No, i got my parts from little independent shops and built some myself.
>LED
No
>super flashy colours
No
>comfy ergonomic keyboard
I bet my Dox is more comfy.

I see you like bezels. I like bezels too.
Check it out:

Bought this GMK GB.

Thoughts?

carbon looks better

Enjoy your expensive blanks.

Love the caps and the backlight. What set and keyboard are those?

i'm not asking about your opinion on carbons.

You wanted thoughts I gave you a thought. Now quit complaining

>pastebin.com/8Yku80VL
nicest keyboard on here

haha wtf

I have to stay hydrated

>that can't be from normal use
well, it can be :^)

what could i have possibly done to break their GENUINE AMERICAN MADE 550 PARACORD

i mean, i can tell you specifically it happened in under 5 months of regular use. more specific than that i don't remember, but it didn't take long for it to start tearing

who /typeracer/ here? just typed 156 wpm feels amazing.

>156 wpm
screen or stfu

JP looks neat

ayy
My past 10 average is usually around 135. My max before this was 148.

amazon.co.uk/Cooler-Master-MasterKeys-SGK-6030-KKCM1-UK-Mechanical/dp/B01CP5MJQ0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1485569308&sr=8-2&keywords=mechanical keyboard cooler master

Is it any good? Keys of my chink lolita stopped working after few months of use, and this is the cheapest non-chink TKL I could find.

mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=2242

Is this a good jumping off point? I don't want LEDs or anything too fancy, just want Blue Switches and a full size for around 100$.

Or should I shell out the extra for the Ducky One?

Yeah, it's fine if you don't want the Shine for the LEDs.
This board should serve you well.

Thanks senpai

>Budget
200 USD tops
>Location (continent at least)
I'm in Argentina but I can buy stuff of the US Amazon.
>Preferred switch type
It's mostly going to be used for gaming so I'd say MX Reds, haven't been able to try switches myself though.
>Layout
ISO preferred but I can get used to something else.
>Form factor
100% or 80% works for me.
>Backlight
Some backlight would be nice, not necessary though.
>Previous/current keyboards
Currently using a Microsoft Sidewinder X6, it's worked really well but after the years I've had it, it's falling apart.

Thanks in advance

forgot to post this.

Pretty exited for RAMA stuff :)

Any of you guys pre ordering?

AHAHAHA
ar.traetelo.com/ducky-shine-rgb-led-backlit-brown-cherry-mx-mechanical-keyboard-p-4431507.html

How do you guys afford anything?

That website is a huge scam, user.
I can buy that keyboard from Amazon and pay 50 bucks for shipping or so.

then there you go. Get a shine 5, or a Ducky One TKL

I'll check them out, thanks user.

Ayy what is the lowest resistence switch made, and what is the lowest resistence spring I can buy?

gateron clears are 35g. You can get some chink 30g springs from aliexpress

If you arent careful with things they usually break pretty easily. Lots of my braided cords look like that unless i take care not let it happen.

Low resistance means longer reset once you pass a certain point. They have noticeably slower reset to blacks.

Anyone got Ducky One TKL UK layout? Can you post a photo of it please?

I could only find the RGB ones
overclockers.co.uk/ducky-one-tkl-rgb-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-brown-cherry-mx-switch-uk-layout-kb-21v-dk.html

Got an M65-A ordered and an M10-A both in space grey.

Should be nice.

Thanks, but I don't think that's it. I found that before as well but it doesn't look like a UK layout to me. It has some non-english letters on it and there is no £ on number 3.

When was the m65 available?

6th-13th of this month or something like that.

I missed it but anything less than 84key is trash. Good design though.

What is a sturdy, heavy yet small keyboard? The pok3r is a good example. More like this. I want one I can club someone with.

Any 60% with a thick aluminum case. A duck eagle, 256 mini, etc.

>356 mini*
Fixed.

I will look at these. Thank you.

They're limited korean custom boards, so good luck getting one at all, let alone one that isn't several hundred dollars.

Kishy Model F

fc660c

good night /mkg/

where would I get something like the top keyboard with the orange, grey, and black keycaps?

geek hack. The keyboard is like $350 while the keycaps have to be sold to you by someone who doesn't need them anymore. Usually the keycaps sell between $250-400

welp nevermind that short-lived dream I just had. That's fucked. Where are the keycaps coming from? I've seen this type/style before and i'm extremely keen on them.

those are SA profile and those keycaps are called hacked by geeks
ctrlalt.io/buys/hack-d-by-geeks

For special SP keycaps don't except to ever pay less then $100 for a full set. The filco ones the cheapest they offer at like $70

Good night, Miami

M3 profile when, matt3o?

i need a cheap illuminated tkl with brown switches

what do you have for me
