How do I turn off my computer on linux? I don't see the power icon.

shutdown -h now

the same way you turned it on, press the power button.

I Followed the steps and now I'm getting a 404 error when I try to hit my site. when I went to the website that lets-encrypt gave me to check if the certificate was working it all checked out.

the exact error im getting is.

The requested URL / was not found on this server.

then you fucked up your server config.

this was the file added to the sites-available folder. Id don't see anything that might mess with my config here I changed the website url to $site-name here just to not leak any sensitive info.

ServerName $site-name
DocumentRoot /var/www/$folder/public
ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log
LogLevel warn
CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined
SSLCertificateFile /etc/letsencrypt/live/$site-name-0001/fullchain.pem
SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/letsencrypt/live/$site-name-0001/privkey.pem
Include /etc/letsencrypt/options-ssl-apache.conf

This is the old config that still works on my local machine and isnt giving a 404.

ServerName $site-name
DocumentRoot /var/www/$folder/public

ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log

might move this over to the web-dev-general

add the options.

i5-7200U (2.5 GHz), 940MX (2 GB), 8 GB RAM laptop good enough for light gaming? Only games I have on Steam right now are TF2, New Vegas and Portal. Will be used for basic college stuff, also.

I did that and it didn't seem to do anything still getting the same error.

did you reload the config file?
when you put a file there can you access it? then it's a laravel issue.

Don't use a 9XXm for gaming. They are soooo ass compared to the 10XX cards. Either go integrated for power savings or go current gen

Depends on the DE.

How do I Hide/Show a form with a button? Can't get it to work. Not allowed to use any javascript library like Jquery and stuff.

Alt + Ctrl causes my PC to go into sleep on Windows 10.
I can't find any key binding like that and no answers on google.

How do URLs work?

If we're talking about conventional URLs, the casing of letters doesn't matter, as long as the spelling is correct.
So if you type
>youtube.com
>Youtube.com
>YouTube.com
>yOuTuBe.CoM
They all take you to the same site.

But that's not the case for artificially shortened URLs, like tinyurl or bitly. In those URLs, the casing of the letters actually matter. If you get it wrong, then you end up on a different site.

How does this shit work? Why does it work one way, but not the other? In the end, they're all URLs.

Is it worth buying the original Alienware Alpha for around $300? I just wanna use it as a desktop and for emulation and hopefully could emulate ps2/dolphin.

Intel Dual-Core i3-4130T (2.90GHz) Processor,Memory-4 GB DDR3L 1600, Hard Drive-500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
Windows 8.1
Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI-in and HDMI-out
4 USB Ports Total - 2 in Back, 2 in Front
Graphics-NVIDIA Maxwell GTX GPU 2 GB GDDR5

This is handled by the HTTP Server and the DNS.
If it resolves a domain (YouPorn.com) the capitalizing doesn't matter, but if you make a GET request (for example GET /porn/webm159871.mp4) it depends on the configuration of the webserver.

> install Gentoo
No but really, it might be a programm messing with your keybindings.

Use NGINX.

>Graphics-NVIDIA Maxwell GTX GPU 2 GB GDDR5

What is the best and most comfy lurking chair by far that doesn't make you feel tired either along with producing no noise

How's that for ps2/GameCube emulation?

I have AT&T and I have had Iphone since the beginning.

I'm kind of over apple's shit products though.

What is the most recommended phone for sub $750 I can get?

I know nothing about phones.

that only tells us what generation the card is, not how powerful it is

Is it good or bad for ps2 emulation?

My car was made in 2008. How quickly can it drive from San Diego to LA?

So is that a yes or no? You do realize this is a stupid questions general right?

Yeah, but it's not something you're supposed to ASPIRE to.

Enigmail keeps hanging up on the key generation. I checked gnupg2 and rngd, everything should be running fine, I think. I even opened five instances of The Matrix and left it running for an hour, but it's still stuck at 1%. What gives?

True. I was thinking of getting a Nvidia Shield TV which is like a $100 less but limited.

I got the intelliarmor screen protector premium whatever for my pixel, and there are a couple of bubbles left that are like half a dime big still there, will they go away in like a day or two?

I tried pushing them out but they wont move.

Nope.

nobody can tell you, because you haven't told us what card it is

what is the best cheap usb 3.0 flash drive? i lose them constantly so i want a cheap one i can buy 5-10 of and not worry about but still have decent speeds

underrated

"maxwell" could mean anything between a GTX 745 to a GTX 980

ELI5:

why is ABP so shit now? i used it for a long time and nowadays it basically blocks nothing aside from banner ads. i installed ublock origin and just watching the numbers on the thing it blocks more than DOUBLE the ads that ABP blocks on pages i visit.

how/why did ABP fall behind so much?

I think ABP has been getting some funding from the big guys in exchange of letting some of the ads get through

>compiling chromium requires >100GB disk space and cpu with INTEL64 architecture
What is this madness? Can chromium even be compiled for 64x86 (AMD's 64 bit architecture)?

Why not keep it on a big chunky carabiner with your keys?

The Woolyss builds run on my 8320.
The Windows build system probably uses Intel's compiler.

Ok. It works.
Thanks.

"Intel64" (intel's implementation of AMD64) and AMD64 are basically the same thing
not to be confused with IA64 (Intel Architecture 64), which is Intel's 64bit platform known as Itanium, which isn't related to current desktop 64bit x86 cpus such as the i-series

$ systemctl poweroff
$ poweroff
# shutdown -h
those all work on my system
don't know which one is right
anyone?

init 0

Which Intel/AMD CPU are Raspberry Pis similar to performance-wise?

I'm doing a friend a favor, he needs something done in excel and Jesus I can't wrap my mind around this.
How do I reference a value from a different sheet, but instead of providing the sheet name, I want to store that sheet name in a cell?
So, for example, instead of typing
=sheet_name!F12
I want to do A1=sheet_name, and then to use something like
=A1!F12

But this doesn't work. Can I get it to work somehow or is this not doable in excel?

Top doubt.

I don't like my laptop too much (yoga 2 from bestbuy) and am considering getting something new. I'm a computer science student, can I use that to get any significant discount on a notebook?

Who here uses the computer 8+ hours a day and is also /fit/? What's your routine to maintain a supple body?

Looking for a ~2tb external HDD for photo backup any recommendations?

just get a thinkpad t440p and put a t450 trackpad and a 1080p ips screen in it for $400. maybe upgrade the processor to a quad core i7 too if you want

Read the sticky

If you're using systemctl, they're all aliases for
$ systemctl poweroff

what's the difference between packages like i3-gaps and i3-gaps-git?

How do you match a regex to any string of characters but include some strings that must not match?

Say I have a block of C code and I want to wrap every function call with another function. The problem is that functions have the same form as operators such as main(), if(), etc. and

Basically, I need to match every \w*\(.*\) except main(), if() and the likes

I remember you used to be able to download youtube videos just by using chrome developer tools and getting a link. Did youtube patch this up? It looks like videos are downloaded in 2.0mb chunks and you cant grab the whole thing any more.

I'm trying out Node and so far so good. Problem is I can't figure out what actual projects look like.

Do people create classes for "business logic" and stuff or do they take a less OOP road and just declare json objects to use and discard?

Also, do they run apache/nginex or just use the node server?

>I remember you used to be able to download youtube videos just by using chrome developer tools and getting a link. Did youtube patch this up? It looks like videos are downloaded in 2.0mb chunks and you cant grab the whole thing any more.
You don't have youtube-dl?

I've never used it because that way of doing it was so easy. I'll look into it though.

youtube-dl is arguably easier. since you can just set up a keyboard shortcut to dl the current tab's video (if you have a chrome extension that copies the url of current tab to clipboard it's pretty trivial, anyway).

>if you have a chrome extension that copies the url of current tab to clipboard it's pretty trivial, anyway
And I mean even if you don't you can just copy it manually I guess

What happens if i put my debit card in the smart card reader of my 2560p? will i brick the debit card or something?

no but russian hackers will get your debit card number

Do they have internet on cargo ships that passengers can use?

welp i'm glad i haven't put it in yet.

Is it acceptable to encase my new PC in concrete once I've verified that everything is functioning properly?

no, don't do it you fucking idiot.

uh, if you want to
just;
1. take precaution not to let any wet material reach anything electrical
2. make sure it's bone dry before powering on anything
3. have a cooling system in place that makes up for the fact that the machine is encased in concrete

WHY

My boss convinced me to sign a statement taking responsibility for a mistake he made, promising he would protect me from any repercussions, but I wound up getting fired over it and he didn't lift a finger to try to help me. Can I do anything at this point, or am I fucked because I signed that statement and our agreement was only verbal without any other witnesses?

Man I read too much of this thread and now my eyes have cancer.

You posted this last week. Go away retard

You answered your own question in the first 7 particles and 7 words of your post.

he fucked you over, you fell for it, it's done
time to look for new employment
i'd ask why you signed it, but i don't really care

QUESTION*****

I need to run a bunch of VM's, at least 10 on my laptop and control each one with a single mouse and keyboard, and I want the mouse movement to happen simultaneously on all 10 VM's at once. Like if I move my mouse up to a folder and double-click it on one machine, it should replicate that in real time across the other 9 as well.

What kind of software would I need to accomplish this???

When you have diarrhea is it better to let it out or try to hold it in as long as possible?

hold it in as long as you can. it will make it feel that much better when you finally release it

Is it possible to overclock a 32bit CPU to 64bits?

no

Sure, just install windows 32 bit twice!

Then how come it is possible to emulate Nintendo 64 or Commodore 64 on a 32-bit processor?

Kek.

Should I start vocal frying again?

yes

Did laypeople talk about bits at all before Nintendo 64? Or did terms like 8-bit in reference to video games not enter the popular lexicon until after?

Yes. There was kind of a "bit war" going on in game consoles for a while, the SNES and Genesis being 16-bit was hyped as fuck at the time for example. Nintendo 64 was just kind of catching the tail end of that.

Is there still a rule where you can't bump your own thread until 15 minutes have passed?

Is it applied board-specific?

Does it matter if anyone else has posted in the thread before that time passes?

Hold Alt-PrtScrn
And Type REISUB

Nobody gives a shit about that kind of thing as long as you aren't completely obnoxious about it. There's no reason to bump unless you're getting close to the last page though.

Why do BDSM people call vambraces gauntlets?

Even with the /#top tag in the URL, every Sup Forums board refresh sends me to the bottom of the page.
No big deal. But it also locks me there and holds me there and sends me back there every time I attempt to scroll up, until all the ads at the bottom of the page are loaded and/or I accidentally click one.
It basically locks me at the bottom of the page for 20 seconds.

Is this a js script fuck up or forced advertising? It causes me to click the ads hundreds of times per day and have to scroll to the top of the entire board EVERY refresh.

What is going on? Is this an intentional Japanese moot money making gimmick or a legitimate error?
What is the fix? Android 2/browser.

yeah, it's trivial. but on a few boards, 15 minutes with no replies = dead thread. just wondered if it was global.

Nobody is going to punish you for bumping a thread that was on the last page. Only time people might get a bit annoyed with you is if you do it repeatedly.

Is it normal for a motherboard to refuse powering on without any CPU or memory installed?

Right now I'm trying to test a Supermicro X10DAX workstation motherboard without aforementioned parts but so far it has not given one sign of life.

I'm sorta concerned that the board may be defective, PSU failure is out of the question because I've already tested that and it's fine.

It seems that /#top sends you to the bottom and locks you there for 20 seconds, but /#top_r retains your position.
Thanks anyways guys, my days of being forced to look at dude taint have ended.
Make note of this in case anyone else asks please, bye.

Also you have to use your browser refresh button combined with _r.
The 4cham refresh button is bork.
