Why should I buy one?

Awww yeah nice keyboard in the OP

>tablet baby 10 keyless and smaller form factors
>huge bezels
Best part is the cancer paying the $300 or however much for that chink garbage.

Dem bezels

Do you prefer gay keyboards or grey keyboards?

>no backplates

opinions? (coolermaster storm xt with cherry mx blue switches)

it was the only one I could find that:
- had a numpad
- had no retarded leds under the keys
- had blue switches

lack of any of these is an automatic deal breaker for me

One day RAMA will be able to afford to design things full time for us Mechanical Keyboard enthusiasts.

And it'll be glorious~~~~~~~

$.75 a switch is a ripoff. But the $120 RGB pcb is the real scam.

I've got it the past or some variant. It was ok I guess till I spilled some coke on it, the keys stopped completely working and I tried to dry it with an hairblower which melted the keys. Bought an 5€ one from a store near me and it has lasted ever since

I think he'd have to actually do something else than the same designs over and over again if he wanted to keep himself busy full-time

You could get a filco 980m for thicc pbt keycaps.
Or a ducky one with pbt keycaps for thicc oem profile caps.

Grey all the way

>zeal
The biggest jew in the mechanical keyboard community

>The biggest jew in the mechanical keyboard community
That would be Ivan

Leopold FC900R any good?

why is top and bottom bezel not the same as left and right?

This annoys me to no end

it's not REALLY that expensive for the switches is it
compared to cherry anyway, I know gaterons are dirt cheap

Unless you're a eurocuck. If he just let the chinks sell them, there wouldn't be customs fees for us.

>not a space cadet keyboard
trash

zeal marks packages as $10-$20 unless you order a shitload where it wouldn't make sense for it to be only such a low amount

Don't they take that shit pretty seriously in the west though?

if there's a bunch of plastic shit with no receipt in the package and it's marked as $20 it's pretty believable

>Don't they take that shit pretty seriously in the west though?

my 220€ hhkb was marked as "keyboard: 15€" or so,
and I didn't pay a dime of customs.

very believable since it was indeed a plastic keyboard and very light too

Lenovo SK8825

Ideally would be something like my current one just with mechanical switches.

what kb is the one on the top

What keyset? The gray one

looks like tai hao

It's a GH60 I built with parts entirely from AliExpress. I'm probably gonna make a catalogue of parts for the csg wiki but you can find them pretty easily anyway.

Ignore the wonky spacebar. I've fixed it since but I gotta take better pics.

Is correct

any of these will do

Is it true that the less keys you have, the better you are at computer?

Mean to reply to Phoneposting

Yes

Dankeschön :3

Yes. IBM realized this in the 70s and gave all their top engineers TKL keyboards like the Unsaver and SSK. Now days top programmers like Linus Bjarne, and RMS all use small keyboards

All the leopolds are good.

>top programmers
>rms
I thought he has not written any code in 10 years and he dictates his emails to some gnu slave because he has rsi or or is a lazy jew.

Basically everyone who is anyone in computing uses a 40% keyboard with Miami caps.

Imagine having to listen to his autism for a living

DAILY REMINDER

In the meantime any generic $0.10 plastic cable lasts 10x longer. I guess hipsters will never change.

RK-9000v2 with Blue switches looks like $63 on Amazon…

Cherry MX Board 3.0

Even chink shit is better than what the jews in the mech community are selling, in the rare case it isn't rebranded chink shit

Has anyone tried MX Greys? If so, thoughts?

Who else should I order custom cables from?

you want you lose?

do it yourself

Assuming it's standard paracord it usually lasts a decent time.
Judging by how twisted to shit those cables are I;d say a retard bought them.

AliExpress

Will they make you type faster like LEDs in gaming PCs increase your FPS?

that's how it came you degenerate

no, but if I make them out of fiber optics and shine an LED through them I'll end up with negative latency giving me an edge in video games

No. To type faster you need to run custom firmware on your keyboard.
If you own a keyboard without a fully modular keyboard and daughter board controller you are literally a plebeian.

I have already won

How much does this actually cost you

too many keys

That's pretty shitty then. Why twist the sleeve?

$10, some SMD components, and some solder.
Or $35 if you are lazy.

Nice meme keyboard

But it supports RGB in-switch LEDs! Don't you like RGB?

Go back to le reddit armee

does anyone know a good place to buy single keys for a good price? thank you in advance

you're welcome

i bet your mom is real proud of ya

Where can I get some nice looking keys with the letters in the front?

google search "stealth printed" or "front printed"

Not him, but are there any decent coiled cables on AliExpress with paracord or something similar? All I found were those glossy plastick ones.

I'm considering replacing my MX Clears with tactile greys. Thoughts?

>Thoughts?

kys

but seriously, do you like clears? I'm undecided between blues and clears. Even though clears are tactile, blues have a much more pronounced tactile bump, regardless of sound.

>blank keys

*Tibs bedora*

*telebords beeind u*

noding bersonal, kid

if you like clears and want something heavier, why not? or you could just save money by replacing the springs.

>blues have a much more pronounced tactile bump
that is not even close to true

clears are the most tactile switch that cherry has. It's an absolutely fantastic switch.

>that is not even close to true

I bought a switch tester and tried them. The blue clearly (lol) has more of a bump. Not even a bump really, it's more of a snap.

It says "cherry" on the switch, but maybe I got goofed?

Additional surprising things:

>the heaviest clicky (gray?) has a really quiet click
>almost can't feel tactility on the brown

>The blue clearly (lol) has more of a bump
It literally doesnt. It's not subjective.

>>the heaviest clicky (gray?) has a really quiet click
Grey's don't click at all. Only cherry greens, blues, and whites click.

>It literally doesnt. It's not subjective.

I'll post the tester later.

>Grey's don't click at all. Only cherry greens, blues, and whites click.

That's why I put "gray" with a question mark, I didn't remember the color.

You guys use keyboard pads?

no need

>no need

Oh thanks, I can really see the difference in tactility between the switches on that photo. You're a genius.

Well RMS has been an HHKB user since before you were born, so I'd imagine he was still writing code back in the 90s

Unicomp offers single keycaps

Chyna
Just search for cherry mx keycaps on aliexpress and you'll find plenty of options

Been looking at a Filco Ninja Majestouch-2. Is there anything bad about it or things I should know? First time buying a mechanical keyboard that isn't Razer or Corsair.

Great board, only thing wrong about it are the keycaps. Seems like they just went for the thinnest ABS caps, pad printed some letter on them and called it a night.

Thanks I have my eyes on one from Ali but they are like $30.

Isn't that the one that looks exactly like a Rosewill? I recommend the Rosewill one, I have one and it's pretty fucking great.

Ah, do you have any suggested caps or should I look for myself? Would prefer the front/side printed style.

they're overpriced, get a leopold

thanks!

Is there anyway to find them in UK layout? They look pretty good.

cm masterkey L looks a lot nicer than the storm xt series, it also has a standard bottom row.

I only know of ISO-DE versions of 660Ms

There are a wide range of keycaps to chose from, I think looking for yourself sounds like the best option. The most popular profiles include cherry, dsa and sa.

>no budget, nothing ridiculous though
>US
>cherry browns
>I'm a colemak user, so hoping to find blank keycaps if I can
>I'm indifferent on the numpad. Media keys would be nice, but not required. Definitely need FN keys.
>not interested in backlighting
>currently have my second das keyboard. First one was great, but I spilled something on it and the Alt key being sticky bugged me, so when the new generation of Das came out I sold the old one and upgraded. It's a really great keyboard with one issue: I didn't realize when I bought it that they had changed out the Cherry switches for Greetech. Lately, the WASD keys seem to stick on randomly ONLY when I play vidya. It doesn't happen that often, but it's back-breaking when it does. At first I wasn't sure why it was doing this, but I think I'm convinced it's just the switches at the end of their life.

Any reccs appreciated.

>remove all the useful keys to save space
>add a huge bezel

Get a 122 key battleship keyboard. Unicomp makes some modern versions of those
