Your own

Get a VPS, roll your own.

This or just get PIA. They're cheap and don't log.

Why do people think VPNs are secure? They can monitor you jsut like your ISP

unless you have your own satellite with heavy protection you do not have privacy

hotspot shield, seeing as it's the only one that's free as in freedom.

>Hi guys I'm 15 years old and have no idea how encryption works

Pia uses OpenVPN... This board is going to shit

ExpressVPN. /thread

I was on PIA and have Nord now and PIA was a lot smoother to use. Nord has a lot of servers and some "double vpn" and "anti-ddos" servers and whatnot, but it's pretty common to not be able to log in or to have a connection dropped.

On the other hand, Nord tends to be faster and I think I got it for less.

Haven't used any other. OpenVPN client.

TunnelBear

I use PIA

have you tried using the web proxy for nordvpn?

No, what does it do?

You can just use a web proxy to browse websites using different IP:

nordvpn.com/tutorials/proxy-setup/firefox/

THen also use a socks5 proxy for torrenting:

nordvpn.com/tutorials/socks5/utorrent/

Depends what you want it for.

Pirating? In general just being able to hide what you're doing from your ISP?
PIA is fine

Something illegal?
I would not recommend PIA.

what happened, user?

Nothing. I use PIA because I don't do anything that breaks the law. But if you think a well-known encryption company based in the US isn't compromised by the NSA, I don't know what to tell you.

Tunnelbear, the simple VPN app that makes it easy to browse privately and enjoy a more open internet.

not the guy youre replying to but his first claim was correct. if you use a vpn in which you subscribe to they can see your traffic unless you use e.g. tls between you and the hosts you communicate with. if you set up your own vpn on your own server, great. you control the logs, if any, on it. but you still face the problem of your unencrypted traffic (to pornhub) leaving your server's network, so use tls (they dont by the way). and in both cases your isp will know youre using a vpn because openvpn traffic can be fingerprinted. you can use obfs4proxy or another pluggable transport to obfuscate it though. tl;dr all networks your data passes through have the potential to log it, so use encryption through the entire route, and verify the hosts you communicate with.

Make your own. Its really easy.

Tunnelbear will not let you connect to torrents. Actually, most recommended VPN's will not let you connect to torrents and/or they will keep logs of you connecting to torrents. PIA doesn't keep any logs and is torrent friendly.

>Company based in a FVEY country promising privacy

This.

They're not gonna expose themselves just because of some torrents, but if you're doing something seriously illegal then I wouldn't use PIA.

AirVPN and NordVPN seem to have pretty good encryption and DNS protections, but I don't know if they'r ebad in some other ways?

I don't really care about the price.

This is irrelevant with a VPN service that keeps no logs. The best they could tell a government agency is that one of their users connected to whatever site through whatever VPN server, that's it. Nothing that could ID you.

What's a good VPN+seedbox combo

Been using FeralHosting for a while for seedbox. You have the option to install any additional software you want to your slot, and both work great, so I recommend.

> Using Feral when its parent company OVH ratted out WhatCD to the french.
