Madvr is just a "stupid" renderer based on deprecated technology from Microsoft, so it's fully closed source, messy, bugged and for windows only. Would you like to see directshow on linux? Mpv is still massively based on mplayer and is available on the main operating systems. Currently vo_opengl from mpv is quite faster than madVR and Angle is improved every single hour by Google engineers and contributors.
