My biggest complaint with flat design is that a lot of buttons don't actually look like buttons. The gear next to "Real-Time Protection", for example, doesn't have any border around it like it would before.

Do you idiots realize how unstable those are? Common Sense has been rock solid for more than a decade now, there's no reason to update the features or change the interface. Just a bunch of nonsense that can go wrong.
Common Sense 2004 Home Edition reporting in. Had it since the day they released it and there's never been any reason to change.
