Are there any current production laptops that place the AC, and Ethernet port in the back where they belong, and not off to the side where they look ugly, in the way of everything else?

Everyfucking model right now has the AC port sticking like 2 inches out of the side, and an Ethernet port on the opposite side making a desktop bound laptop a complete fucking mess. I miss the god old days when "permanent" I/Os where all in the back, and out of the fucking way.
Except USB ports. Always on the side.

>using ethernet on a laptop
just off yourself

latitude 12 7270 has ac and ethernet on the back iirc

>>using ethernet on a laptop
>just off yourself
Let me know when gigabit wireless is a thing.

Oh you're one of those retards who uses a laptop as a main computer.

No, I'm one of those people who has a work laptop for work because I also work from home, so I deal with shitty USB docks, and the need to stay hardwired during the day for fast internet use, and file transfer.

Company is too cheap to give me a second dock for home use, and I'm not spending any money on this POS.

AC port on the right
NIC on the left
1 USB port on the right
2 USB ports on the left.

When this thing is fully plugged into everything I need its just a huge fucking mess taking up twice the deskspace that it should. Fuck HPs

Stop working for a shitty company that doesn't give real computers for people to use.

I don't know why you said "no" when you then go on to explain that you use it as your main computer for work. 10/10 logic there buddo

Every fucking time.

Remember to rinse THEN dry your tears off your keyboard; the salt will corrode it & your boss will make you pay for the repairs.

if you're looking for higher end, the dell precision 7510 and 7710 have both the AC and ethernet ports on the back. if you're looking for cheap, clevo makes a ton of machines with the AC port on the back.

>implying implications

The donglebook pro (TM) doesn't have this problem. Just attach the proprietary dongleplus (R) connector and glue to any side of your donglebook pro (TM). Pure magic

i think thinkpads have the power and ethernet in back still, don't they?

security card read, usb, vga, etc is all on the sides though

>meming this hard over USB-C

Why are poorfags so eternally butthurt?

>t. mactoddler, while attempting to rationalize his shitty purchase

I believe many modern laptops don't have ports on the back because of how the hinges are designed

Alienware laptopts, kek.

>current production
Not to my knowledge, but the T420s and T430s thinkpads do. You could also get a regular T, X, or W*20 or *30 and spend $20-30 on a dock.

That's some serious dislike for USB C. For what reason do you not want to see USB tech move forward like that?

There is nothing wrong with USB type C. There is, though, a lot wrong with the way Apple is attempting to push it. It would be fine if they used it as charging and had another one for possible accessories that use the new interface, but it would be even more intelligent on their behalf to leave at least one "regular" USB port, not to mention an SD card slot. Instead, they decided to go the jew route and force you to buy dongles and adapters, and you bought into their bullshit.

Get a W4x0 series laptop and a dock and revel in the gainz
Make sure x

Just use a dungle, I mean, dock station, breh :

Why arent modern business class laptops no longer use a nice dock port on the bottom?

its all fucking USB shit, another mess of cables.

My Lenovo™ X-Series® with WiGig Dock™ does not have this problem.

Gee Bill, you never heard of this thing called Thunderbolt® 3, or USB-C Alternate Mode. huh?

I like having a physical heavy dock that stays in place when you remove the laptop, and not some flimsy plastic dongle with a wrong side USB cable.

What is better:
>A hueg 9000 pin proprietary connector with no replacements
or
>12-pin $10 cable that can be replaced if something is wrong

>too cheap to give me a second dock
Stop working for shitty companies. HP ultraslim docks are like $100 before any discounts. I doubt lenovo and dell charge much more. My company issues all IT staff outside of helpdesk and NOC a laptop, a dock and a desktop. When I occasionally work from home so I requested a second dock and they issued me one without any questions.

HP elitebooks still have docks, it uses some proprietary connector on the side of the laptop. I believe thinkpads still have a dock connector on the bottom.

>soft change in an industry of greedy Jews, corner-cutting chinks and general lazy product makers who just want profit with minimal effort

Ok, you know better than 700 billion dollar Apple on how to conduct business in the tech world. Apple must have just became the most valuable company in the world by doing dumb things.

Fucking teenage NEET armchair experts on Sup Forums, is there anything more pathetic?

>ethernet

What is this 2006? It's called "wifi" grandpa.

who cares.

No they don't.

...

>USB-C only

ABSOLUTELY
DISGUSTING

P series Thinkpads have them on the back

Thinkpad W series

>Apple knows exactly what the consumer wants and needs at all times
You're exactly the target demographic for Apple products.

Just mod it if it bothers you that fucking much.

You're already raping the thing with triple booting. Just go the rest of the way and mess up it's insides.

How about you design an Ethernet 90-degree bend and mass-produce it.

msi high end laptops. the GT73 and GT83 VR version.

>main computer

I remember being so incompetent as to need a 'main' computer

three or four years ago.

but yes i dont get why they dont put connectors on the back anymore.i assume its because the way they do it now lets the display have a stronger hinge

Putting it off to the side gives you a visual reminder that the thing is plugged in. So you don't accidentally fuck your power port when you yank your laptop up off whatever it was resting on.

This

Wireless right now is actually faster on consumer products then gigabit ethernet

?!?

With one client in the middle of the dessert maybe.
