Gym nearby is going out of business and is selling a video wall.
40" 1080p monitors for $1k.
Should I buy them? I can fit 6 in my apartment and I'll probably sell the rest to my friends. It brings the cost down to only $70 per monitor.
Also, I have a gtx 1070 with 5 video outputs. How can I run this behemoth of a display? Can I get another shit card and just use that for one of the displays?
Evan Kelly
auction is ending in 8 hours
need to know fast
Logan Peterson
>Should I buy them? no >Can I get another shit card and just use that for one of the displays? yes
Elijah Phillips
why not?
Carson Ross
Yes. Buy them, but make sure you can sell them at a profit.
Brayden Collins
Its a good deal just fucking buy them
Camden Powell
Buy them, 40 in is a really good size for a TV and I'm sure you can sell off the rest
Bentley Morgan
...
Jose Perry
>Should I buy them? I can fit 6 in my apartment you can fit 6 in your apartment but it's gonna look goofy like old 4:3 screen
Dominic Clark
Nah man was going to have them as 3 columns and 2 rows, so it would be 24:9 ultra-ultrawide
Robert Myers
Just flip them. You're buying them at an incredibly cheap price, put them up on eBay or something for $20-$30 more than you got them for and you made a profit, even if you decide to keep one for yourself.
Aiden Torres
Keep one, sell the rest, and put the rest into fucking savings like an adult
You aren't going to use 6 screens you didn't even know you wanted until five minutes ago
Wyatt Rogers
>not wanting 6 screens from the moment you first used a computer what the fuck is wrong with you
Mason Adams
Like everyone else is saying, buy then sell them for a profit. If you want to go down the multiscreen road then keep four and sell the rest.
Andrew Green
IF those are actual monitors, yes. a real monitor that size is over $4k.
Grayson Mitchell
What is the price again? 1k for all 12 monitors, or $70 each? or?
Adam Bailey
they probably have been on for entire years and have watermarks or w/e
Jacob Hill
>for all 12 I'm sorry to break it to you, but you may need glasses.
Jason Baker
please clarify. OP says $1k but then says something about $70 each
Nathaniel Nguyen
I'm sorry to break it to you, but you may have down syndrome. Retard.
Easton Barnes
kek'd
Nicholas Edwards
wow can you teach us how to read minds?
Evan Morales
user, as the user of a video wall, I must warn of some disadvantages.
Our office built a video wall. This did not work out very well. When people give presentations it is always a hassle to get the it aligned properly with the screens. Inevitably they just run their presentation on one screen.
Turning all of them on and adjusting all the settings so that they are the same is a genuine pain in the ass.
Now the worst part is the resolution. The problem is the icons and mouse are so small, that you need BINOCULARS to see where the mouse is on the other screens.
I must say it is quite amazing to put up an entire weather map of the USA in high resolution. Makes you feel like you're in the war room, although the sound of fans screaming like banshees and the smell of burning graphics card is quite disturbing.
Dylan White
What the OP says makes no fucking sense.
$1000 / 16 monitors in the picture = $62.5 per monitor
>It brings the cost down to only $70 per monitor. The cost was already below $70. Is OP retarded or just tired from sucking all those dicks at the gym?
Thomas Gonzalez
are you fucking blind? the cost will be $70 per monitor for him AFTER he sells the others to his friends
Hunter Turner
surely if you were going to install a video wall you'd set it up so you can turn on all displays with one switch, and you can adjust the size of the windows mouse cursor assuming you're using windows at the office.
Carson Powell
do the screens have fans in them? If they do then I'm pretty sure I won't want them
Austin Smith
we didn't, no one really had the time to fix it. It's not just the mouse cursors, it's the icons and letters. Other side of the screen is so far away.
Adrian Thompson
Are you fucking mentally retarded? The cost is already below $70 before he sells anything.
Owen Turner
no, that would be the computer struggling to rendering stuff on all of the screens
Aiden Howard
No fuck off I was going to buy that!
Andrew Gomez
Are you literally mad? no one sells a 40" monitor for 60 dollars
OP is obviously saying that each one of them costs 1k, and he'll sell at enough profit so he only loses 420 dollars for all the ones he kept
Jason Torres
OP said cost is below 70$ for each monitor... to bring them home. He.meant transport cost!
Caleb Collins
Hey OP, what the fuck did you mean by that?
Christian Young
fuck no I just purchased a 27" for @160, you can literally buy like 6 27" screens for that price.
plus dell has a 42" with a lot more features and its new for like 1200.
Matthew Adams
Oh, I misread the post - yeah 1k for all of those is an amazing price.
Brayden Nguyen
are you literally fucked? OP clearly says he wants to buy all the monitors, then keep SIX of them, then suck a massive dick
Anthony Jackson
Are you literally craycray? OP is saying he wants to buy all the monitors, star in a bukake film then watch the playback on his TV wall WHILE sucking a massive dick
Jeremiah Edwards
OP here, price is up to $1329. Will need to take a day off of uni this week to pick them up if I do bite the bullet. I can probably only fit a max of 6 into my car so I'll have to do 3 trips to the place, but it's only 20-30mins drive.
I'll have to design a mount for them, or a floor stand but I'm quite handy so that won't be too hard.
I want these motherfucking monitors now
Austin Campbell
remember that these are tv's not computer monitors. They will inherently have worse latency and color production. Not to mention that these floor models have a lot of running hours. and may even have image burn-in.
$1300 is too much.
Jonathan Turner
This. Just put onw on each room of your house and sell the rest.
Owen Foster
>the icons and mouse are so small This is because you are using an outdated system. I did the same thing a few years back. Four projectors, in a row. Flight sim.
To have a setup like this work, you need a workstation graphics card. These are the only ones with the drivers capable of driving 3+ screens without any bitching. These are also the only drivers that have support for less common screen setups (i.e. 1x4). Using an OS like Windows 10 should solve the DPI problem for you.
Austin Jackson
Save your money and get a high res projector that projects bigger image. Winrar
Chase Stewart
You can pick up a 40 1080p TV for like 200 bucks
Leo Lopez
Keep 6 sell 10 at $100 and get 6 free TVs.
Daniel Watson
This. >why wouldn't you want your whole fucking wall covered by monitors?
Andrew Sanchez
Are you a literally fucked up down? OP is saying he wants to buy all the monitor, star in the biggest interracial orgy on a fucking 7680x4320 video and watch it while sucking two massive black dicks while a trap fuck him from behind.
Daniel Bailey
Auction finished at $5k. Sadly I did not win.
$5k is way over what I would consider decent for screens that are used.
Nolan Morales
holy fuck way too much
Noah Edwards
sucks man, would have been pretty neat to have that many screens
Joshua Cooper
$5000 is way too high. Whoever raised that value is an idiot. You just dodged a bullet OP.
Brody Cox
>The problem is the icons and mouse are so small, that you need BINOCULARS to see where the mouse is on the other screens. This made me fucking kek for some reason. Reminded me of the binocular speedy shoes glitch in dark souls 2.
Jason Sanders
$70 per used monitor is actually still pretty high. I got a used 1080p monitor for $45. Granted it was a pretty fucking fantastic deal, thank you guy who sold it to me.
If you want a nice big picture at home, use a projector.
Jace Morales
40" and 1080p? Flip them to those that don't know any better.
