Which one is the most secure cloud ? what should i use ?

which one is the most secure cloud ? what should i use ?

owncloud/nextcloud

all others are botnet

None, use a NASbox hooked up to a secondary router which encrypts EVERYTHING.
Hide it in a wall, and the only thing that has to poke out is the ethernet ports which you connect to your modem/primary router/whatever.

your own

>"""""cloud"""""
>""""""secure"""""

>secure cloud
These two words never go together. The only way to have security on someone else's PC (which is what "the cloud" is) is to encrypt everything before uploading it.

Your own file server.

You think you can do a better job securing a home server than IT professionals?

how can i build it then ? And can i connect it when im outside ?

You think you can do a better job securing a home server than IT professionals?

how do u prove that is secure

>You think you can do a better job securing your money than finance professionals?
oy vey

I would trust some random neet autist over some "IT professional" hack

Encrypt everything and use a free service.

Then youre an idiot

you host it yourself

free email services free cloud free blablabla... i cannot understand how they earn money if their services free ?

> paying for shit that is free
I guess you run an illegal trafficking ring and you need it.

>the most secure cloud
the nicest-smelling turd

In other words, no cloud is secure: your stuff is on someone else's hard drive.

>pic related

On that note, just make your own NAS. FreeNAS or NAS4Free are great solutions, along with Nextcloud.

Google Drive because I don't sell drugs.

They sell your personal info to advertisers.

Unless its your own cloud computer.

Open the ports to the outside Internet

1. it is not expensive.
2. it is easy to setup
3. you get to control your own data.

As I said, I don't do human trafficking through the Guatemalan border, so I don't care if google looks at my architectural drawings.

Define "Cloud". You talking hosting, storage, or?...

I work for a Cloud Hosting company, and can say that shit's kept under lock and key for the most part.

Install Linux on some hardware (e.g. a Banana PI)
and check out some Seafile / Nextcloud tutorials.

I am using google drive for store pdf books, a few videos and pics right now.

It doesn't matter which border you use or what data you store on these services.
Unless you go full autist, people have a daemon running which syncs the data all the time on their phone, laptop and desktop.
So you constantly have someone get your location, how much your computer is on and what kind of data you are working on.
Setting up your own server is about as expensive as buying a beer in a bar.

>cock.li

is this cheapest solution ?

I can move Terrabytes of chinese cartoons on my NAS FOR FREE while you willingly let your data get mined by your botnet of choice

> being this paranoid
literally nobody gives a shit about what you do unless the police is alterted.

die

back to plebbit commie

I'm no expert, but afaik a BananaPi is as cheap as you probably can get (don't go for a Raspberry PI for a NAS, it doesn't have SATA and it's USB is shared with Ethernet).
It definitly works fine as a server (I run a Banana pro as Seafie server), but it doesn't have some more advanced features you might want , e.g. RAID support (correct me if I'm wrong here)

You'll also need some HDD to store your files.

Kill yourself, he's right.

We must rage against the dying of the privacy.

That's a fucking blurry ass cap man.

10 GB is enough. And it must be fast.

>plebbit
>implying plebbit wouldnt be okay with censorship
back to 9gag with you

>IT professionals
kekt

Doesnt really matter. Just encrypt your shit before putting it up there and you're good.

is winrar enough for encryption ?

nextcloud on a server with full disk encryption, I setup 2TB storage for under £200 for a lifetime

I'd say go for a banana pi

This.

You set up YOUR preferred disto as server
You set up YOUR webserver
You set up YOUR database
You choose physical location of your data
You can read all the source code
You can encrypt YOUR files locally

I just switched from OneDrive to Nextcloud. It's running great. It's fast.
And FINALLY, I can switch to GNU+Lunix completely.

No.

>What is privacy
It doesn't matter what data you have as long as you no one can see it

don´t forget that it costs far more

No. At least use truecrypt or veracrypt or some shit.

Np actually.

Let's assume you'd have to change HDD(s) every 4 years
Let's assume your cloud provider provides you with 1TB storage for 9.99$

48x9.99$ -> 479,52$
2x1TB (RAID 1) (~100$ per drive) -> 200$

Of yourse you need to include your initial hardware costs.
Dumpy 4 core PC with 8GB RAM + RAID controller -> 300$ ?! maybe 400?!

Break even would be around 5 years

>implying having to maintain a computer that has to run 24/7 and never shut down for updates is that easy

This, what the fuck are you people smoking

oxymoron, there is no secure cloud
