I invited someone to PTP because they posted a long sob story and I felt bad for them, but they only downloaded like 3 movies and then disappeared for months, only to come back and try to cheat and get banned instantly. Like many of you had made great efforts on WCD, setting up my dedicated server as seedbox, downloading freelech shitty music I didn't like, I made it to PU and that helped me into other trackers I need for movies (teh) and TV (MTV, freshon). I was actually close to Elite.
Oh and I'm also /setforlife/ with a 7 TB buffer on Emp.
I know I'm not on any top tier trackers but I enjoy what I have for the moment.
The only thing missing is music; I'm not the music nerd I once was but I still enjoy niche noisy genres. I know a lot of stuff is on rutracker and just for laziness I'm planning to subscribe to Spotify Premium, the same way I have Netflix even though I can download everything on it.
So... Should I invest time into getting to the next wcd alternative, whatever the fuck that is?

They don't take any donation funds. There are other things they can and do do. Think about the powers that an admin has over the tracker and the more notorious and shady activities that people are willing to partake in around private trackers.
I'm in the process of gathering evidence. I know for a fact that many well-known admins at cabal trackers are involved in this practice. If you doubt it, just fucking think about it. We all know what humans are like, when they have a bit of power they go crazy and when they can lie and cheat they usually will.

Piracy isn't this complicated. If your needs are going to be met elsewhere don't bother. Unless you're going to be uploading on pth and want a higher userclass to move up, it just takes a download every so often and just perma-seed on a home connection. If you just want to download, just use apollo, but that probably wont take you anywhere.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about private trackers (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is on public trackers where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in a private tracker, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the users, after hearing about this, are not going to want to contribute for either tracker, nor will they download any of PTH's content. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but PTH has alienated an entire community with this move.
PTH, publicly apologize and change the name back or you can kiss your tracker goodbye.
