Things to keep on a USB flash drive

What kinds of things do you keep on your USB flash drives? Portable software? Linux? Encrypted stuff? I just got one and need some ideas.

VeraCrypt portable + encrypted container taking the remaining amount of storage.

500+ pictures of kot blini

repair disk. forgot which one.
Tails OS
Backup of very important files I never update.

As far as stuff I permanently keep on mine, a bunch of rescue disks and other useful troubleshooting utilities (used YUMI to merge them together into a single bootable image), a big driver pack of 10GB or so of drivers for various stuff, some Windows installers, an Ubuntu live partition, think that's about it. Mostly just to help me out in a bind or if a friend wants me to help them with a computer problem out of nowhere or something.

This

A bootable OS image on one. A fat32 partition on another with misc. tools and files, and a NTFS one for larger ISOs you may need to move.

get a usb 3.0 to m.2 ssd adapter
cheap 256gb m.2 ssd
400/320mbps read write
shows up as a internal boot device instead of usb drive

use plop boot and a about 30% of disk for isos for boot partitions/ installs

rest of disk additional storage Snappy Driver Installer WSUS offline updates Autopatcher and applications bout 80gb for backups with Macurium reflect when rebuilding machine

Dunno about you guys, but my two flash drives are swap drives.

Dick pics I took with my camera.

Only half of them are mine.

Encrypted gpg keys and ssh cert, some random distro.

I wanted to post that old image of a poster on a campus somewhere of an artist that lost his flash drive and was hoping someone had found it, but also warning people not to look inside because of furry porn

settings for programs i use

A bootable Windows 10 partition.

>All that shit

I just use one of these....

Where does g purchase their cheap drives for rescue disk and such?

I use a hardware encrypted flash drive for all my passwords.

No rescue disk is going to need more than 8 gigs of space. Just buy a couple of those and you're golden, they cost less than 10 bucks each.

Just remember I forgot mine at work.
Thanks a lot user... asshole!

this seems like a usb thread
anyone have experience with pic related?
does it handle being on a keychain well or does it get broken and deformed?

nothing, but sisters got like 9 of them.
She is just too beta to put it cloud, or msthg, so she stores everything 5x, mostly photos and bilions of work documents.

I bought a 128GB Samsung USB for $30. I literally do not know what to do with it.
I am interested in one of those hardware encrypted drives though.

I installed Qubes on a tiny 128GB usb drive. It's quite slow, but pretty neat to have it with me all the time.

Cloud storage is a huge threat to privacy
Your sister is smart

Mostly I store files that I wouldn't want to lose. But I also have some linux distros and chromium OS on a couple of them.

Coding stuff,iso and roms.

>interested in hw encryption
no, you are not. big bundle of fail. use sw and assume hw is borked for someone elses benefit.

>32GB

: thinking:

eroge. network streaming isnt as smooth as id like it to be.

There are plenty of good options for hardware encrypted drives, quite expensive though. Better then software, and much safer.

dropbox folder

Nothing. It's a shuttle for moving files around off-LAN.

can Sup Forums recommend pic related?

absolutely, have six of those as portable os drives, installers and storage

Random assorted work and some documents, as well as KeePassX program and password file. 32GB, only about 2gb used.

I have the USB3 version. The ring is thinner so it's easier to get on a keychain. It gets dinged up pretty easily, but if you're okay with that otherwise it works perfectly fine

I have had 2 of these on my keychain since 2010.

Still in perfect working order but scratched to fuck so i dont know which is 16 and 32gb....

Sorry..... Forgot my pic... Fug

Why not just a single exFAT partition?

Fucking pleb.... not using Android and Drive Droid... Create your own USB stick ISO, any size you want.

Mostly copies of VMs in case my server's storage arrays die or gets corrupted. I also keep ISOs of different OSes in case I have to do a clean reinstall on a client's computer/

I was planning on doing this.
What M.2/USB adapter do you use? Any recommendations or are they all basically the same?

That's shit
If you have a motherboard that supports Thunderbolt2 or 3, buy an adapter card with the proper header cables and use a Thunderbolt-to-SATA device for that. I think someone makes an NVMe-to-Thunderbolt3 device for maximum lel.

Drivers for old computers

Thanks, I also have the USB3 now.

messed up the second like
i ment this:

Electric current.

Movies and shows

>Clover EFI for if my Hackintosh shits the bed
>SSH keys
>OpenVPN config

that's about it

Sexiest usb flashdrive ever. Too bad it's slow as fuck. I've got the 16GB on my keychain for documents etc. Go for the USB 3.0 version, although it's slightly uglier imo.
