Why would I want 7.1 headphones if I have 2.0 ears?

You'll be one of the cool kids my man!
You wouldn't. More than 2 channels is a gimmick, even on speakers.
Not at all, surround sound is awesome.
Don't feed the troll.
All '7.1' headsets are either crappy upmarked headsets with gayman aesthetics, or crappy upmarked headsets with multiples of the cheapest shittiest drivers crammed in each ear.
The only semi-acceptable use for them is to rip out the drivers and install a pair of semidecent ones, if you want to get nerd gamer street cred.
Do you have 5 ears?
You wouldn't
Of course not. Are you really incapable of being able to tell whether a sound came from in front of or from behind you? If so, seek professional help. There's something wrong with you.
The multiple speakers in the headphones are positioned to give sound a direction. This makes for a more immersive ingame experience.
Check your budget, then get a fulla2 as amp and some HD598 or HD600 phones.
And look down at the riffraff with their gamer headsets with contempt.
Bullshit. The distance between each driver is small enough that you do not notice any difference between that and a normal 2 driver headphone.
The company is literally called Schiit Audio.
Is this real?
Not only is it real, it's the Schiit
Yeah and they're awesome, I own 3 of their products
>2.0 ears
Hyber x cloud 2 are ebic :-DDDDD
Best paired with razer or nvidia cloud-enabled drivers.
It's not just the distance, but also the direction the speakers face, the speakers are facing (which the guy you responded to said).
Speaker volume is adjusted dynamically to give the impression of depth and distance.
Can you not tell the difference in sound when someone is standing and speaking directly to your left compared to behind you?
>Hyber x cloud 2
this is bait but they are some of the most decent gaming cans out there because they are rebranded regular cans with a mic added on
what's the best headphone holder?
>2.0 ears
ears are receivers not sources
your premise is defective
You realize loudness isn't the only thing that changes as a sound source moves away from the listener?
Of course I can hear when a sound is coming from behind me, because when sound goes around the back of your ears, it has a very specific and well-understood effect on the sound. But you can simulate that effect in a 2.0 channel setup by pre-applying that effect to the sound during the recording/production process. If you have a good stereo, sounds that come from in front of you can sound like they're coming from behind you.
>apply digital affects to simulate things
or
>make it real
I'll stick with the latter
the 7 speakers spread sound to your 4 ear drums so the 3 left over speakers put the sound vibrational waves througfh your jaw skull so that you can feel talking when you're talking to and its like theyre actually theyre with you and then the microfphone isnt needed so the extra .1 speaker is just for the microfhone because thaers. 71 speakers so even with 2.0 ears you heard 7.1 sounds if that meakes sense
Sure, if you're willing to settle for exactly two possible positions behind you that things could be coming from. The moment you want more than that, the craft of the producer becomes necessary again.
I'd be more than content with a 4.1 system, 5.1-9.1 is just spoiling myself
Holy shit
Holly shit, just listened to it on my HD600's and was absolutely amazed. Totally mindblowing! When it started, I thought someone was to the right of me.
i laughed so hard my eyes teared up holy kek
w-what
Had that headset for a year. The software that goes with it ruins everything. Fucking Sades $27 amazon best-seller headset is better in EVERY way but having a cord.
FUCK that headset and everyone schilling it.
get on my level.
with headphones your body will not feel lower frequency vibrations aka high quality bass
