Stop baiting on Sup Forums
If you're seriously thinking of building that,
>>>/pcbg/
seems fine, ignore the amd marketing department.
>k processor
>b mobo
what's the point?
I hope you really don't plan on building this.
The goy know
I dont want to wait that long
Can you tell me why these are bad choices?
Im not very well versed in tech. Are these parts incompatible? Do you have a suggestion?
Heres the updated list. I changed the RAM and motherboard due to anons advice
pcpartpicker.com
He means that you need a Z Mobo since your CPU comes with the unlocked multiplier. The unlocked multiplier implies that you intend to overclock, and you need the Z Mobo to do that. If you don't, get the cheaper, non-K model of the CPU and keep the B motherboard.
Why the fuck are you buying a non-ryzen CPU?????
>Ryzen coming out in few weeks
>uninformed retards still buying Intel
Your case is shit and will be flimsy, sharp and upsetting to work inside. Get a decent sub-$100 NZXT or Cooler Master case
To follow up on my point here,
If you intend to drop the K model CPU and keep the motherboard, you probably don't need the aftermarket cooler either.
stop falling for the boot drive meme, but if you really are that poor, get an m.2 one
ssd storage is the master race
>Boot drive meme
Most people can't afford terabyte SSDs. What do you expect the average user to put larger programs and media on?
he probably doesnt want to spend an extra $100 on a high end cpu
about 400gb of my ssd storage is used up by steam games alone, most of my long term storage shit like movies is on a seperate hdd
Thank you I definitely needed to know that. Great advice is appreciated
Isnt ryzen the AMD version of i7? It seems to be overkill for what Im doing. Ill just be playing modded skyrim and wildlands, checking my stock charts, playing music and movies, and of course shitposting on /fit/ and Sup Forums (maybe Sup Forums im having lots of fun learning about this stuff)
I have to cut corners somewhere. Case seemed like the obvious place to start
Ive heard mixed things so far about the cooler. I dont plan on OCing so ill probably drop it but a few anons have said its a cheap boost to performance. Ill definitely research more
I wouldnt say Im poor but the price difference is substantial. I was aiming for a $1000 build I dont mind to go over a little but theres no need to be superfluously extravagant
Ryzen 7 is i7 equivalent, yes
Ryzen 5 comes out in March and is the i5 killer, with 6 cores and 12 threads or 4 cores and 8 threads for the price of 4 core 4 thread i5s
modded skyrim is quite cpu demanding
>getting a 1070 to play reddit games
I dont know what a reddit game is. Are you saying my gpu is overkill? I was told to dump whatever surplus budget i had in there. This is the first ive heard that my cpu is subpar. Would someone care to elaborate on this post?
If you plan on playing games then the majority of the budget goes into GPU.
If you plan on video editing / insane number crunching then the majority of the budget goes into the CPU.
modded skyrim is a reddit game
i cant believe people still play that crap in 2017 for anything other than nostalgia
What is a reddit game? Reddit the website?
its a game that only reddit users play
Weird ive never heard that term. I assume its pejorative. I like skyrim tho it was just an example of what Id play
