is it normal to? how much money do you think they earn in your area?
I personally never give them anything, sometimes I'll go back to my car, urinate in a bottle and go pour it on them.
There's 3 types of homeless
1) the scum who should be taken to concentration camps to work in the tar sands
2) the ones who are autist and legit need help
3) the ones you wished could could stop being poor since they're actually cool people who had shitty lives
I only give money to the latter two

Not no but hell no. Beggars who approach you aren't indigent, they're just too lazy to work when they can pull down twice minimum wage off of chumps and marks. If they're addicts, they'd spend the last dime you give them on booze or drugs, not food or socks. Truly desperate people typically don't ask for help. If you want to help those people, either donate or volunteer at a mission.

We don't have any homeless people. People always stay with their parents until they get married or even stay with them until they are able to afford a new house for their new family. I don't know why westerners kick their kids out once they're 18 expecting them to handle everything, it's cruel

Most homeless people aren't 18 year olds, they are usually addicted to something or they are mentally ill or both.

Ours are mostly Europeans who come here expecting that the government will do everything for them for free. We have churches that give them a cookie and shove them out to sea on a raft.

It's true. There are some regular people who find themselves homeless by poor circumstances, but they are in the minority and don't tend to stay homeless for too long.
I only give money to street performers and the like. Bums asking for handouts are disgusting.

Oh yeah. Some guy comes up with a sob story about running out of gas on his way to see his sick kids, so I say "Sing me a song and I'll give you a quarter." Never fails.

I give about 5 dollars a week to 2 homeless people, we're actually friends now. I live in a third world country, so 5 dollars can buy you quite a few things.
It's always funny thinking that the people on here with flags from poor countries, are actually rich by their standards.
That's because you need to speak the English language well to understand the appeal of this website. I don't know about other countries, but here if you can speak English that well, it generally means you're from an upper middle class family, at the least.
I had a culture shock when i visited Arizona, i've seen on tv people sitting in the streets with signs saying "I'll work for food" or "I'll work for cheap" but i had never seen that in real life. On my way to the museum i saw this sad looking white old man, and i bet he was a veteran, sitting there in the middle of the sun on the sidewalk with one of those sings, i really felt bad about him so i gave him 20 bucks and a bag of Doritos, he brighten up and told me "god bless you young man".
The day was a blast after that though.
If I have something to give, I always will. What circumstances surround someone's need to beg don't matter as much to me as the fact that they are homeless and begging.
Why doesn't Mexico have hobos? Been all over from DF, MTY, Yucatan, Chiapas Jalisco etc and didn't see a single begger, even though there's more widespread poverty in Mexico vs the US.
