Why does everyone (Specifically Americans) think that French are cowards...

Why does everyone (Specifically Americans) think that French are cowards? When I think of France's military I think of Charlemagne, Karloman and the Karlings, William the Bastard, Napoleon and France's valiant service in WW1. Can anyone explain this?

Success breeds jealousy

Jealousy breeds butthurt

In 2003, Dubbya planned an incredibly moronic invasion of Iraq. Our minister of Foreign Affairs pointed the perverse imbecility and illegality of that plan.

The US decided to do it *anyway* and since they needed a reason to explain while we wouldn't be part of it, they explained that we were afraid of Saddam, which was to be expected since we had never won a war ever.
The Americans being ignorant and dumb, believed it and flooded the Internet with jokes.
People from other countries being also ignorant and dumb believed it too.

Not that's it's a problem mind you, we know our history and expect people from other countries to be ignorant and dumb - so everyone is happy.

Because they preferred to surrender over seeing their city of light becoming a lake.

As far as I know, "French are cowards" meme was made up by Brits and Muricans who pretended to be the only winners of WWII.
Just imagine if Britain wasn't separated by water, Germans would've be able to conquer it too like they did with France.
Frenchies have bright pages of military glory too, so don't worry.

Half of your population is algerian for fuck sakes.
They kick the white french out of there and yet you accepted the muslim population after that.
How much cuck can a country be?

The role of the French during WW2 has to be downplayed, otherwise the Americans will finally realize that they didn't actually help all that much.

And we can't have their inflated egos being hurt, now can we?

It was an honour for us to welcome one of the father of Europe, actually.

>japan talking about surrendering things

Your girls will die for european cocks tho.

You're probably the most arab itt.

Because the Americans were butthurt about France refusing to invade Iraq.

>implying the jerrys had a chance against cold British steel

Corporal Jones?

Speaking about girls dying for foreign cocks, even Napoleon's sister Pauline was #blacked while visiting Carribean islands ;)

>65M people
>32M of them are Algerians

ok

>russia's greatest writer is a nigger who got cucked and then killed by a frenchman

contain your butthurt blyadimir

Spookity spooked spook Tyrone.

That definitely shows superiority of Russian culture, Jean. Africans become writers here, not welfare leechers like in France :^)
And the greatest writer is Tolstoy imho

Fuck, you are worse than I thought

Back to /lit/

What you breed are more Arabs.

Pulling this out of my ass but maybe the Brits started it after the Napoleanic Wars. They definitely were shit in the Franco Prussian War and WWII. WWII probably cemented it for Americans. Anyways we don't actually dislike them and after the Brits are probably the Euros most respected militarily.

Stop spooking my property

I notice your cars aren't in that pic. Good choice :DDDD.

Because those are Mostly Germans/Italians and most people unlike you arent retarded and know that.

>In 2003, Dubbya planned an incredibly moronic invasion of Iraq. Our minister of Foreign Affairs pointed the perverse imbecility and illegality of that plan.
You know the Meme long predates that. All 2003 did was lead to some rednecks briefly calling French fries freedom fries.

>Mostly Germans/Italians

Brits always propagandize against their allies to undercut them later.

Why are you trying to advertise your self-drawn gayporn?

Ummm the French did preform like shit in WW2 though and we know you turds slugged it out with the Krauts.

You are counting old people, check the schools, the kindergartes, your kids are half algerian.
We will continue to eat pork in 30 years, you won't.

Well, they let germans take their capital without a fight and then they didn't even bother to kick nazis out. And yes, something that happened 200 years ago it's irrelevant, it doesn't matter if Napoleon was defeating the HRE when in 1939 they surrendered so cowardly.

Anyway, you can argue that those people still had the memories of the WW1 and its horrors and that's why they looked so weak while germans wanted revenge for the treaty of Paris.

>We will continue to eat pork in 30 years

This, call me nigger but let me eat muh cocido.

>Your girls will die for european cocks tho
J'y travaille, t'en fait pas.

Why you so mad my property? You are just discussing spooks.

>implying americans don't love france
the cowardice is just bants, which we're notoriously bad at. don't let it get you down frenchfriend

Before WW2, the French were considered a great military power, however after their embarrassing defeat by Germany it tarnished their military reputation, and yes for some reason it is the Americans that usually talk about them being cowards, I however respect the frogs and their military one defeat should not tarnish their great military history.

Why so insecure, im merely asking, pretty shit meme youre trying to create tbqfh

Thank you, friends

De Gaulle opposing american influence, the butthurt of Bush about Iraq, remnants of the eternal anglais propaganda...

What the fuck did you mean by this?
>Why so insecure, im merely asking, pretty shit meme youre trying to create tbqfh

Sooo you refuse Iraq because its unjust and then you go to Mali by yourself?

Since when did max stirner become a fucking maymay?

that your drawings are shit and pointing that out doesnt mean that someone is mad.

...

No it doesn't. A specific text detailing "the military history of France" started appearing on the Internet at precisely that time and went viral.
No coincidence, too.

Before 2003, there was another war against Saddam, and we French sure ripped him a new one in that war, invading his country in 3 days and making thousands of prisoners at the expense of only nine casualties:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opération_Daguet

So it would have been hard to explain why a few years later, the same soldiers would be afraid of Saddam, who had his army destroyed in the previous war and suffered terribly from the ensuing embargo.

And only in 2002, we had intervened in Afghanistan to help you (and still were engaged there in 2003, actually. We stayed about 13 years).

Pre-2003, going to the US (my grandfather is American) was all "Lafayette Lafayette"
It changed suddendly to "surrender surrender" within a few days.

Since Pablo Hernandez is so butthurt that he needs to force this 'meme' with all his greasy might.

Malian president wanted our help

Why am I getting the feeling that your grandpa didn't participate in the war.

>Sooo you refuse Iraq because its unjust and then you go to Mali by yourself?

Operation Serval followed the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2085 and an official request by the Malian government for French military assistance.

The invasion of Iraq of 2003 was declared illegal by the UN.

>by yourself
because nobody else has the guts.
And actually you were supposed to go there too.

No, it was solely for influence over Africa and Resources.

It was lunch-break and we missed the plane, we gave you equipment tho, so dont complain.

And shooting sandniggers is always legal in my eyes.

>Netherlands in charge of mocking French military.

Your army called.

Haha jk it didn't, you don't even have one.

Which war?
He fought in WW2, that's how he came to Europe, decided to stay in France after the victory and met my grandma. Afterwards he fought for a few years in the Indochina war then came back and found himself a civilian job.

If you're talking about the invasion of Iraq, well he was about 80 years old at the time, so no he didn't go.

I wasn't even mocking the French military you fucking assclown.

It just seems weird to me that an American soldier who served at the front in Europe has his opinion of the French swayed that easily. That's why I assumed he didn't participate because only those who weren't there would succumb to the 'le surrender' meme.

I'm not complaining, and all we might need is money to pay for the wars, really.
Our armed forces have 3 volunteers for each open job, which is not ideal but pretty good for recruiters.
The foreign legion fares even better since it also accepts foreigners, I believe they can pick about 1 out of 8.

Europe (even if France alone) does have the people for the wars, it just needs a basic amount of flag-waving at home, support in the UN council and a little money to pay the bills.

Germany and Japan contributed only money to the First Gulf War of '91, but since it was short and sweet they ended up paying for almost the entire war (to the US, France and UK mainly) so everyone was happy. Well except Saddam, but he had been bad that time (unlike 2003).

There was some joke I heard a few times in the army about the French salute, and it had something to do with surrendering, can't remember.

rude

'When the German raises his arm, the French raise both' ?

Ah no, I didn't mean my grandad. Obviously he never went "le surrender" - and he's been living in France since 1946.
Not *everyone* in America did, either. But possibly 80%.

>go to grocery in NY
>buy your favorite French cheese
>random customer walks up to you
>"hey careful, don't buy that, it's... FRENCH!"
>"Well, yes, and so am I, problem?"
>guy turns pale and walks away hurriedly

No, but that's kind of funny. It was something to do with how many fingers, it was not funny to me. I did not know of this meme.

>Can anyone explain this?

Sure can, you're a muh heritage pleb

>He beheld the face of an ashamed memester
>In NYC

Was there ever a finer moment in your life, user ?

Plenty of them, actually, but this was really funny.

wtf I love france now :3

Surely nobody really thinks of the French as cowards, it's just banter. Anybody who's read history knows better.

>Ch*rlemagne
>French

Karl der Große was Germanic and therefore white

Actually...he was probably from the Benelux

France did horribly in WW1

Modern history has shown them to be pretty weak tho, in comparison to what they used to be. Not cowards, but still weak.

u spooked m8?

Yep, lack of success does not mean cowardness. My grandfathers fought and lost lost two wars against the soviets, but I wouldn't call them cowards either.

w-was one of them simo?

Unfortunately not. :( Wouldn't mind being a descendant of Belaya Smert.

Did he become nazi-friendly personally?

I have no idea, both my grandfathers died before I was born. Not in the wars though. One became an alcoholic and drank himself to the grave and the other had a heart attack.

>One became an alcoholic and drank himself to the grave
A dyed-in-the-wool Finn, that man was!

Indeed he was. I'm slowly following his footsteps.

How?

I hope you find the joys in a simple Coca Cola instead of that Vodka. Goodspeed, my nordic brother. I'm fleeing this thread before this man drag me into a history debate on how awful France was in the great war.

Pathetic.

Show mercy.

I love the French, they are so sexy and slutty and fun!

I like the French :3

Godspeed too, min norske venn!

Mainly because they caved way easier than everyone thought they would have during the Blitzkrieg.
Every other war they had they did quite well in, but that one incident has left a very bad reputation.

>(Specifically Americans)
Because to the average American, history starts in 1939 and the Americans won the Vietnam war.

I love the music from their most famous musicians
